The monthly fee for the internet plan for a computer is 850 rubles.
If you buy a new SIM card with a tariff plan, then for the first 3 months the subscription will be only 590 rubles per month, from the fourth month - 850 rubles each. When changing the tariff to the “For Laptop” tariff plan, MTS does not give a discount - you will pay 850 rubles immediately after switching to a package with Internet for computers and modems.

The monthly price includes unlimited Internet at speeds of up to 10 Mbit per second and a free package from MTS TV - “TV for a laptop.”
There are no packages of minutes or messages included in the tariff, which is quite reasonable. Theoretically, you can make calls and send SMS using a USB modem, but it’s unlikely that anyone would want to do this when they have a phone at hand.
If you want to transfer a SIM card with the MTS “For Laptop” tariff to your smartphone, you will be able to make calls and send messages at the following rates:
- 5 ₽/minute – to all numbers in your home region, as well as MTS in Russia;
- 14 ₽/minute – long-distance calls to all phones except MTS;

The operator’s line includes a unique tariff in its category, which is called “For a laptop.” Its uniqueness is that for a fixed subscription fee the user receives truly unlimited Internet traffic for a month. Yota also offers real unlimited, Megafon has tariffs with payment for several months in advance, and Beeline provides a maximum of 30 GB according to tariffs for modems with night unlimited.
This MTS tariff also supports voice services (calls, SMS). Here are its main characteristics:
- Subscription fee: 800 rubles per month;
- Internet speed: 4 Mbit/s;
- Outgoing calls to any operators in Moscow and the region, including MTS: 5 rubles/min.
- Outgoing calls to MTS in other regions: 5 rubles/min.
- Outgoing calls to any operators in other regions: 5 rubles/min.
- Outgoing SMS messages: 2.5 rub.
According to the terms of the tariff, mobile Internet is valid throughout Russia, however, in the footnotes there is a note that in Chukotka the speed may be limited to 128 kilobits. You can also use the tariff without surcharges throughout the country, but only within the operator’s network.
The MTS “For Laptop” unlimited tariff has a maximum Internet speed of 4 Mbit/s.
It would seem that this is not much, because modern 4G networks allow you to download data at speeds of up to 150 Mbit/s. However, the indicated speed is quite enough to watch videos online, listen to music, and download large files. For example, a 2 GB movie will take about an hour to download.

Mobile Internet
The computer tariff gives access to the Internet without traffic restrictions, but with a speed limit. The maximum that can be squeezed out of the modem is 10 Mbit/sec. This is not a lot, but not a little either: the Internet speed is quite enough for videos in standard quality without any brakes. By the way, Megafon’s tariff for desktops is limited to 4 Mbit/s, and subscribers are quite happy with it.
If you work with large amounts of data that are regularly sent over the Internet, then the speed limit can be removed . You need to dial the combination *111*1637# - the option is called “For laptop 052020 at maximum speed.” With it, full unlimited will cost an additional 350 rubles monthly. In total, you will pay the MTS operator for the laptop tariff 1200 ₽ per month (850 ₽ monthly fee + 350 ₽ option fee).

Which unlimited Internet tariff for an MTS modem is better?
It is impossible to say exactly which unlimited Internet will be better for the subscriber. In this case, they are guided by the frequency of Internet use and the amount of time spent online. Therefore, 30 GB is not enough for some people, while 7 GB will be too much for others, but since this is the minimum of the available tariffs, they have to choose it.

Permissions and restrictions

When downloading torrents, the speed limit is up to 512 Kbps.
The tariff does not work in Chukotka, Taimyr and other northern regions - Internet speed is limited to 128 Kbps. That is, formally there is access to the Internet, but comfortable Internet surfing at such a speed is impossible. The option to remove the speed limit in these areas also does not work.

4G modem - what is it and how to set it up
A 4G modem is a device for receiving and transmitting data that provides a connection between a mobile network and the end equipment (PC or laptop). Outwardly, it looks like a flash drive and connects to a USB port. To work, you need an MTS SIM card for the modem, which provides access to the Internet.
The setup is so simple that even a schoolchild can handle it. The instructions below will help you understand this issue.
Instructions:
- Installing a SIM card. Open the back cover of the modem and insert the SIM card into the slot marked “SIM”. If your device supports a memory card, install that too.
- Connection. Insert the modem into the USB port of your computer or laptop.
