Beeline "SuperCity" tariff: detailed description, pros and cons

Date: 12Nov 2020

Author: iMobile

Mobile operator Beeline has launched a new tariff plan “SuperCITY” with packages of minutes, SMS, mobile Internet and, of course, a subscription fee. At the moment, the tariff plan is available only in Moscow and the region, and, given its name, it may remain a metropolitan exclusive.

Included in the tariff

  • All incoming calls (including when roaming in the Russian Federation) are free and unlimited.
  • 25 GB. traffic throughout Russia (except Crimea, Sevastopol and Chukotka).
  • Unlimited access to Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, ICQ, Skype, Google Hangouts, Snapchat, KaKaoTalk, WeChat messengers (including video calls).
  • 400 minutes per month for outgoing calls to any numbers throughout Russia.
  • Free and unlimited calls to Beeline throughout Russia (consume a package of minutes).
  • 30 SMS messages to any numbers in the Russian Federation.
  • Free viewing of 20 TV channels in the Beeline TV service.
  • For an additional 50 ₽ per month, you can connect to unlimited access to the social networks Twitter, Vkontakte, Facebook, Odnoklassniki and Instagram.
  • Participation in the “Gigs for Steps” campaign. Potentially this is +3 GB. traffic to the package in the monthly tariff.
  • “Gigs for sleep”, “Gigs for detox” and “Gigs for brains” are another +4.5 GB. traffic.
  • In Crimea and Sevastopol, prices are different and packages of minutes, traffic and SMS are not valid. Current prices here.

Personal opinion

Beeline has launched a new tariff plan. But it is new only in name. Today this is the most standard tariff plan of a mobile operator - packages minus, SMS and mobile Internet + unlimited services, which actually have restrictions, and a subscription fee.

A package of minutes is spent on any numbers in Russia - good. There is an SMS package - let it be. Internet 25 GB will do. Unlimited with limits – Ok. But what does this tariff really provide? Where exactly is he “Super”?

Huge package of minutes? No. Unlimited within the network (at least)? No. Giant internet package? No. Full unlimited? No. Low subscription fee? No.

In news on the official website, Beeline reports that it is working to ensure that subscribers always receive profitable, high-quality services, and also monitors the needs of subscribers and launches products and services that best suit their consumption profile. However, this text also smells of something that has already been read 100 times.

Well, the main question remains. Why is this tariff so special that it was launched only in Moscow? Apart from the name, nothing else comes to mind.

After the end of packages of minutes, SMS and Internet traffic

After the end of the traffic package, the operator will not disable Internet access completely, but will limit the access speed to 8 Kbps. (consider it to be disabled; dialup modems used to work at this speed). To resume access at unlimited speed, you need to connect one of the additional traffic packages:

  • Package 300 MB. with auto-renewal costs 50 ₽ and is activated by calling 067471778 or USSD command *115*23# , disconnected by command *115*230# or calling 0674717780 ;
  • Package 3 GB. costs 150 ₽, connects by calling 067427 or via USSD command *115*27# ;
  • The average package size is 15 GB. costs 300 ₽, connects by calling 067429 or via USSD command *115*29# ;
  • The largest traffic package is 30 GB. costs 450 ₽, connects by calling 067426 or via USSD command *115*26# ;

If you run out of minutes or SMS from your tariff, the prices will be as follows:

  • Calls within the Beeline network throughout Russia remain free and unlimited;
  • Calls to any numbers within the Russian Federation, except intranet ones - 3.00 ₽/minute;
  • SMS to any numbers in Russia - 3.00 ₽/message;

Comparison

Well, let's compare Beeline's “SuperCITY” tariff with some tariffs of other mobile operators - “No overpayments. EVERYTHING" from Megafon and "Everywhere Online" from Tele2. All parameters are for Moscow and the region.

ParameterSuperCITYNo overpayments. ALL Everywhere online
Subscription fee550 rub/month600 rubles for 30 days500 rub/month
Unlimited within the networkYes, after the end of the packageYes, does not consume the packageYes, does not consume the package

SMS package300 SMS to any numbers in Russia300 SMS to any numbers in Russia50 SMS to any numbers in Russia

Social networks (no)YesYesYes
Messengers (no)YesYesYes

If you look at the main parameters of all three tariff plans, then... I would say that SuperCITY is inferior to its competitors. By the way, not everyone has the same unlimited limits - for example, Megafon’s unlimited on VK allows you to watch videos, but Beeline and Tele2 do not. However, the main takeaway is that SuperCITY has no real strengths.

Mobile Internet

“SuperCITY” includes 25 GB for any web services. If you use official applications of social networks and instant messengers, then traffic is not taken into account.

Unlimited messengers: WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, ICQ, Skype, Google Hangouts, Snapchat, KaKao Talk and WeChat.

Unlimited social networks: Vkontakte, Facebook, Odnoklassniki, Instagram and Twitter.

If the traffic in the Internet package runs out, then access to the Internet is suspended. To resume it, connect an additional Internet package.

Distribution of mobile Internet on the “SuperCITY” tariff plan is free. The number of connected devices is limited only by the capabilities of your phone.

Who is the “SuperCITY” tariff suitable for?

Based on the highlighted advantages and disadvantages of the tariff, we can distinguish several groups of people who will benefit from Beeline’s new offer:

  • those who often call and send SMS;
  • those who use the Internet to communicate on social networks and instant messengers;
  • for those who want to get the optimal balance of services as part of the package.

Thus, SuperCITY is a universal tariff plan that will suit almost everyone. At the same time, you need to understand that the TP has limitations in terms of providing Internet traffic. If a client often uses the mobile network to watch streaming video, it makes sense to look at tariffs with unlimited traffic or a large amount of it.

Connection

Before you connect to the Beeline SuperCITY tariff, you should decide which option is suitable - switch to the tariff on the old SIM card or order a new number. If a user buys a SIM card, he can receive it at one of the Beeline offices or order free home delivery. By providing his home address, the client automatically consents to the processing and use of personal data, which is valid for 2 months.

To change the plan of an existing number to the Beeline “Super City” tariff, you need to go to the official page (link), click on the inscription “I want this tariff” and select “Change my tariff”. In the form that opens, the user needs to specify a phone number so that the system can check the possibility of connection. If everything is in order, the client will receive detailed instructions on how to change the plan.

Before switching to the Beeline “SuperCITY” tariff, you should make sure that there is enough money in your account for daily payment. If the user changed the tariff plan less than 30 days ago, the connection cost will be 200 rubles. If more than 30 days have passed since the plan change, the transition is free.

Beeline's Super City tariff is suitable for those customers who work on the Internet and constantly need to be in touch. By giving 550 rubles every 30 days, the user receives 500 minutes, 25 GB of Internet, 300 SMS, as well as unlimited access to the most popular social networks and instant messengers. However, the plan has its own additional conditions, which must be read before purchasing it.

Pros and cons of “SuperCITY”

Beeline's new tariff plan has several undeniable advantages over its competitors:

  • Optimal filling. 500 minutes, 300 SMS and 25 GB of traffic will be enough for most subscribers. This offer is suitable for everyone who regularly calls and uses the Internet, but does not want to overpay for unlimited options and huge service packages.
  • Unlimited services. Social networks and instant messengers can be used without restrictions, which is especially convenient for subscribers who like to communicate on the Internet. It is important that there are no restrictions on audio and video calls: this helps not to waste a package of minutes and significantly save on communication.
  • Free distribution of the Internet. The amount of traffic on the tariff is limited, but it can be safely distributed to any other devices. Use your smartphone in modem mode and share the Internet with a computer, TV and various smart devices.
  • No restrictions on torrents. Beeline is one of the few mobile operators who calmly allows the use of torrent trackers. With Beeline, you don’t need to install a VPN or change your location region - download movies, games and music comfortably.
  • No domestic roaming. “SuperCITY” conditions continue to apply when traveling around Russia, so you won’t have to overpay for communication services. The only exceptions will be regions where there are no Beeline towers - special conditions apply there.

However, there are also several important disadvantages:

  • Traffic consumption in unlimited services. Any clicks on external links from instant messengers and social networks spend your Internet package. The same applies to videos embedded from third-party hosting sites, such as YouTube.
  • Calls to Beeline numbers consume a package of minutes. You won’t be able to talk to other operator subscribers without restrictions. Unlimited is activated only after the completion of the main package, which is extremely inconvenient.
  • Subscription to ViP Play charges money. If you activate a free 30-day subscription on a SIM card, you need to pay very close attention to the expiration date. It is automatically extended for the next month and starts debiting 7 rubles. per day without notifying the subscriber.
  • Daily payment debiting. Money for the tariff plan is not written off immediately, but little by little. This is inconvenient: if you do not top up your account on time, you can go into the red.

The price tag of the “SuperCITY” tariff is difficult to attribute to pros or cons. Including filling 550 rub. per month - not such a large amount for Moscow and the Moscow region. However, the price may be too high for many subscribers.

Cost of services after using the package

The service package, which includes minutes, SMS and gigabytes, is updated monthly. The balance is not carried over to the next billing period, and if the package is exhausted before the end of the month, the client is forced to pay for services at the following prices:

  • outgoing calls – 3 r/min;
  • sending SMS – 3 rubles.

Prices are valid both in your home region and when traveling around Russia. The prices do not differ even if the call is made to another region or republic of Russia. The exception is Beeline numbers, which have unlimited outgoing calls throughout the entire period of using the tariff.

How to connect

To connect to “SuperCITY” you need to change your current tariff plan on your SIM card. This can be done in several ways:

  • In your personal account on the operator’s website at ;
  • In the proprietary mobile application “My Beeline”;
  • By short hotline number 0611;
  • In the nearest Beeline communication salon.

You can also always purchase a new SIM card with a preset tariff at any sales office. And if you use the services of another operator, you can switch to Beeline while keeping your number.

Is it worth connecting?

Everything is relative. So far, the offer from Beeline looks very attractive compared to its competitors. Just look at how much a similar set costs. There is either less internet or much higher subscription fees. Only Tele2 has a comparable offer, but this mobile operator has on average the lowest Internet speed and not the best connection in the country, and this tips the scales in favor of Beeline. Finally, as always, everything will be put into place only by the first reviews of subscribers who have tried “SuperCITY” in action.

Action on trips around Russia and Crimea

The “SuperCITY” tariff operates in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation with the exception of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (the Internet package does not work there, and the Internet speed is noticeably limited) and the Crimean Peninsula.

The following conditions apply in Crimea:

  • all incoming calls are free;
  • outgoing to Russian numbers – 2.5 rubles per minute (the package of minutes is not valid);
  • outgoing SMS to Russian mobile phones – 2.5 rubles per message (SMS package is not valid);
  • mobile Internet: the first megabyte is free, then you can connect to unlimited Internet for a day for 249 ₽. The first 300 megabytes are provided without speed restrictions, and then it drops to 128 Kbps. With the beginning of the next day, the package is updated and the speed is restored, another 249 rubles will be debited from the account.

You can refuse unlimited Internet in Crimea, but instead you need to choose:

  1. Option “100 MB in Crimea” - gives 100 megabytes of Internet per day for 99 rubles per day. The command to activate the option is *110*9291#.
  2. Per-megabyte tariff is RUB 2.50 per 1 MB. Connection command *110*991#.

If you do not want to use mobile Internet while in Crimea, dial the USSD combination *110*9391#.
