Perhaps roaming is Vodafone’s main advantage over its main competitors. Because today not a single domestic mobile operator offers such cheap talk and use of the Internet to Ukrainians when traveling around Europe and the world. Only the following tariffs are the same for all packages:

  • calls to Ukrainian (not Vodafone/MTS) and European networks (to the mentioned 16 countries) – 10 UAH/min,
  • calls to other destinations around the world – 50 UAH/min.

For subscribers of the Vodafone Red S , the cost of the service for 7 days is 100 UAH .

It includes:

  • 100 min for incoming (from anywhere in the world) and outgoing calls to Vodafone (MTS) Ukraine,
  • 100 MB mobile Internet,
  • 100 SMS/MMS to Ukrainian and European networks.

For subscribers of the Vodafone Red M , the cost of the service for 7 days is 140 UAH .

It includes:

  • 140 minutes for incoming (from anywhere in the world) and outgoing calls to Vodafone (MTS) Ukraine,
  • 140 MB mobile Internet,
  • 140 SMS/MMS to Ukrainian and European networks,

For subscribers of the Vodafone Red L , the cost of the service for 7 days is 300 UAH .

It includes:

  • 300 min for incoming (from anywhere in the world) and outgoing calls to Vodafone (MTS) Ukraine,
  • 300 MB mobile Internet,
  • 300 SMS/MMS to Ukrainian and European networks,

For contract subscribers of the Vodafone Red XL package, the cost of the service for 30 days is 500 UAH .

It includes:

  • 500 min for incoming (from anywhere in the world) and outgoing calls to Vodafone (MTS) Ukraine,
  • 500 MB mobile Internet,
  • 500 SMS/MMS to Ukrainian and European networks.

Vodafone - roaming in Europe on the most favorable terms

Services above the package, as well as roaming services for subscribers of Vodafone Light and Vodafone Red XS packages, are paid at basic rates.

Connection and control

The connection itself is not a complicated process. This is a simple USSD request *600*7#. A much more problematic area is entering numbers. But more on that later. Basic control is carried out by the following additional commands:

  • *600*7*1# – status check;
  • *600*7*0# – shutdown.

Funds in the amount of 35 hryvnia are written off exactly at the moment of connection, and then every 30 days for prepaid clients, and every 1st day of the new month for a contract. Therefore, it is worth knowing the code to disable the service, since otherwise you can expect an unplanned withdrawal of money.


The command to check the status will indicate whether the service is currently connected. Please note that each new connection is subject to payment. Therefore, you should not experiment with USSD commands.

Basic Vodafone tariffs in roaming when connected to the local Vodafone network

  • Incoming (from anywhere in the world) and outgoing calls to Vodafone (MTS) Ukraine – 2 UAH/min,
  • Internet – 35 UAH/100 MB,

Basic tariffs also pay for all services of all subscribers registered in the local Vodafone network, but who have not activated the “Roaming at home” service.

I almost forgot: you need to connect specifically (otherwise, as already mentioned, the tariff will be based on basic tariffs).

Tariff features

When planning a long vacation, you don’t have to worry about the validity of the tariff. The tariff package is provided for 28 days. When purchasing a card, you should indicate the activation date. It is most profitable to activate the package the day before the trip. The user will receive a notification to the specified email and will know that the card is active.

It’s funny that there is no command to disable the package; immediately after ordering the service, the entire amount is debited from the subscriber’s account (for 7 days for prepaid, and for 30 for contract employees) and the entire agreed volume of services is credited. Whatever you don’t use up, think of it as a coin thrown in as a souvenir of your trip.

Another case in which the unspent balance of package roaming services is burned is if you decide to change your tariff plan while roaming. Even if the 7 days for which you ordered “Roaming at home” have not expired.

The list of countries is given on the official Vodafone website, and when traveling to Poland, the conditions apply to all networks, when calling to France - to the Free Mobile partner network, to the remaining 14 countries - when connecting to a local Vodafone.

Vodafone unlimited abroad - description and pricing

It has long been the norm that you have to pay for unlimited. Vodafone unlimited abroad is no exception. The subscription fee, in this case, is not that big. It is only 35 hryvnia per month.


By depositing this amount into your subscriber account and completing the connection, you will be able to make unlimited calls to Russia and Poland. True, such conditions apply only to three selected numbers.

It is also worth knowing that this service is not available for all mobile networks. For calls from Vodafone to Russia, the option will only work to MTS network numbers, and for calls to Poland - T-Mobile/Heyah.

Why is “Roaming Like Home” called this way and not otherwise?

And now the promised example illustrating the logic of Vodafone’s PR people, who called . It is assumed that tariffs for calls in roaming are equal to similar tariffs in Ukraine.
