Mobile communications Iota - what is it and how does it work

B is provided on slightly different terms than those of the Big Three operators. The operator also has a non-trivial approach to maintaining Internet access. Iota is considered by many to be a “dark horse” in the Russian telecommunications market. Since this provider appeared in the vastness of the country relatively recently, not everyone knows who the owners of the Iota telecom operator are, what advantages attract customers, and what pitfalls are hidden under the beautiful name. Therefore, it would be reasonable to ask questions about when the brand appeared, who owns it, and what the word “Yota” means (“Yota”, “Eta” and so on).

A tale of two brands

In 2007, Denis Sverdlov (then one of the co-owners of Corus Consulting) and Sergey Adonyev opened a company, which at that time was the first operator in the Russian Federation whose work was based on WiMAX (then an advanced data transmission technology). The name “Iota” was invented during an SMS conversation.

The company's shares are now divided between two owners:

  • OJSC Megafon.
  • Scartel LLC (Iota brand).

You can watch the video about the work of the Yota company:

Important! Thanks to the merger of their assets, a new virtual operator was formed. The united network allows broadcasting in the 2600 MHz band. But in cities where Megafon has built its own LTE stations, Yota does not offer 4G. This restriction still remains.

The first test launches of the network in Russia were made in 2008 in Moscow and St. Petersburg and were carried out in the range of 2.5-2.7 GHz. After this, Yota began to be perceived as a young company, an innovator in the Russian communications market.

By 2010, Yota announced that it planned to switch from using WiMAX to a new data transfer standard, and by the end of August they had carried out a test launch of the LTE network in Russia. Five years later, Yota clients in almost 50 regions used the Internet powered by this technology.

At the beginning of 2012, Yota launched Russia's first 4G network, having agreed with the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation. At this moment, federal operators, incl. - Megaphone. Now in commercial operation, Iota LTE stations are already operating in more than 40 regions of Russia, and the number of clients has exceeded 1,500,000 people.

LTE currently used in Russia has small coverage areas. Yota subscribers cannot use Megafon stations, which is why the speed of the Internet connection suffers. To mitigate this disadvantage, Iota expanded the number of antennas and placed many 2G and 3G cell towers. Thanks to this, clients can change the connection mode, adjusting it to the level and type of signal, without tying themselves to a specific place.

Yota base stations were leased by the following operators:

  • MTS.
  • Megaphone.
  • Rostelecom.

The last two companies rented them out. Therefore, Iota is actively building its own communication lines to improve signal quality. You can view a detailed coverage map and view the location of LTE, 3G and 2G on the official Iota website.

Most people paid attention to Iota precisely because of the unlimited (at that time) 4G Internet and the relatively low cost of services. Clients gain access to the network by independently determining the data transfer speed. Thanks to this, the subscriber can regulate the fee for the service.

In 2021, Yota, like other large operators, closed tariffs with unlimited Internet for smartphones and set traffic restrictions. But you can enable the “Unlimited mobile applications” option, during which traffic is not spent on a number of social networks, instant messengers and YouTube video hosting. Plus, unlimited tariffs remain on tablets and modems.

However, Yota cannot yet provide clear statistics on the quality of signal and network reception in specific localities, so potential clients can draw conclusions by reading the reviews of other users or by independently connecting the services of Yota and Megafon. Let's say subscribers confirm that the data transfer speed is much higher in St. Petersburg, and not in Moscow.

Now Iota is developing mainly in two directions:

  • Provision of mobile communication services.
  • 4G Internet connection.

How it all began

The company (it is called Scartel LLC) was founded in 2007, and a year later the Internet was launched using WiMAX technology. In 2009, sales of a modem released under its own brand began, and work was underway to create an LTE network. In 2012, the merger of 100% of the assets of Scartell and 50% of PJSC Megafon was completed. Two years later, an advertising campaign for the new mobile operator launched on federal channels in the spring, and by the end of summer the first SIM cards were issued. Then the question began to arise, what is Yota, and why is it called a virtual operator?

What is a virtual operator

At the time of the opening of Yota, the company was positioned as the fourth operator operating at the federal level. But it is developing according to the MVNO (virtual operator) model, using its LTE networks, Megafon coverage and leased 2G, 3G and 4G infrastructure.

Customers are offered a choice of voice, SMS and Internet services. Scartel is responsible for the marketing component and is responsible for remote servicing of subscribers who independently select a package of services.

The Yota brand abandoned standard channels for selling SIM cards, choosing distribution through the corporate website. On it, people can choose the number and point of delivery of the kit.

The functions of the Yota website are described in the video:

How it works

Data transfer is carried out on the basis of several networks: subscribers connect both to Iota’s own stations and to the resources of other companies that are used with restrictions. LTE communication (4G) operates primarily on Scartel’s own equipment, GSM - on leased equipment.

Therefore, Yota is considered a virtual rather than a real operator. Despite the fact that this model of pricing policy has been tested and works in America and Western Europe, it has not yet become widespread in the Russian Federation.

Yota and Megafon: the same thing or two different operators

Megafon and Iota are truly connected. The latter is a subsidiary and uses part of the antennas of its parent company.

At one time, Megafon bought out Iota’s shares, but did so not to acquire developments, but to take over its frequencies. They were the main value of the company, since the main competitors at that time (in 2010) did not use advanced LTE technology. The transaction amount then amounted to more than $1 billion.

Frequency bands exceeded those then allocated to large mobile operators. Then it was assumed that Scartel would create a federal 4G network by financing Beeline, Megafon and MTS, and then lease lines to them.

Important! But this plan was not realized, and the asset was acquired by Megafon. Thanks to this, he became the largest owner of LTE frequencies in the Russian Federation. And those networks that by that time had been built by Iota itself were used by Megafon to provide its services.

At one time, MegaFon CEO Ivan Tavrin repeatedly stated that he wanted to finally overtake his main competitor MTS and become the largest operator in Russia. He pointed out that this is planned to be done through the promotion of mobile Internet and advanced services. Against this background, buying Yota looks logical.

Currently, the coverage areas of both companies are almost identical. But otherwise they do not interact in any way. Iota and Megafon provide different tariff plans; their priorities of activity and positioning differ. But because of their connection, the companies do not engage in cut-throat competition.

However, they share costs, traffic, and network pros and cons. Stations do not separate users depending on the operator used. Megafon's financial statements also include Yota's income and expenses. In fact, the subsidiary company does not have independence.

Features of the operator, its differences and advantages

People in Russia and abroad are interested in the secret of Yota’s success, what it is and how it works. The provider positions itself as one of the leaders in the provision of high-speed Internet and reliable cellular communications with large coverage. The process of switching to a provider is simplified as much as possible, and the tariffs are so flexible that the future user can choose the appropriate option for himself.

Clients have several tariffs at their disposal:

  • For smartphones. Here you can choose the option that suits you best - only unlimited, more Internet, etc. In this case, the number of minutes and GB is set independently. The cost of the service depends on this.

  • For smartphones. As in the previous case, the company allows you to use the Internet taking into account current requests. The price of a monthly package directly depends on the number of GB selected, starting from 1 and continuing to infinity.
  • For computer. Many users connect to the Internet to work on a PC. It is also possible to order a package for different periods of time and with an individual set of services.

  • For business. The provider offers the opportunity to use the Internet or communications for the needs of its own individual entrepreneur or legal entity.

In all cases, Yota provides the opportunity for a free test drive, instant change of conditions and work in the absence of funds in the account. In addition, the Yota website has its own online store where you can purchase the equipment necessary for your work.

Advantages

Unlike other telecommunications companies existing on the Russian market, the creators of Yota had the opportunity to analyze the market, collect the reasons for people’s dissatisfaction and eliminate existing comments. As a result, customers received reliable and convenient mobile communications, as well as Internet without speed restrictions.

Generally speaking, the Yota company has a number of advantages:

  1. Unlimited Internet. If necessary, the provider's clients can choose a service option without traffic or speed limits. Thanks to this feature, you can use the services without worrying about the end of your existing MB.
  2. No restrictions within the network. By choosing the appropriate tariff, you can make calls without limits and additional costs throughout the country.
  3. No roaming at the federal level. It doesn't matter where the person calls. You can buy a Yota SIM card in Rostov and at the same time call Moscow. There is no need to connect additional roaming. Making calls within the Russian Federation is free. In addition, the company has access to 2G and 3G equipment, which guarantees high quality communications.
  4. There is no message limit. When connecting to a special package, Yota users have the opportunity to send an unlimited number of messages. This is a convenient option that is used by many citizens of the Russian Federation.
  5. State numbers. After connecting the SIM card, the company’s clients gain access to state numbers in the format +7999…
  6. Internet speed. Today Yota is a company that guarantees a reliable connection to a high-speed network. Most clients are satisfied with the speed and believe that there is no competition in this area yet. But here a lot depends on the region of residence. Problems may arise in areas with insufficient coverage.
  7. Selecting minutes for calls. One of the main conveniences of Yota is the ability to select the required number of minutes per month. For example, if a person communicates less, he can save on paying for services and, accordingly, receive a more favorable tariff.
  8. Availability of application. After installing the Yota program, you can easily activate your SIM card. In addition, the program allows you to control traffic, the number of minutes spent, balance and other useful information. Payment and technical support functions are also available in the application.

The above advantages have made Yota one of the best in the country. The organization’s services are increasingly used by surfing enthusiasts, travel enthusiasts and business representatives.

Flaws

One of the disadvantages of Yot is the difficulty of dialing, because dialing a number takes a lot of time. In addition, users have a number of other disadvantages:

  1. Problems with the application. Sometimes the Yota program freezes or malfunctions. Developers monitor such complaints and try to quickly respond and eliminate defects.
  2. Difficulties with support. During peak hours it is often difficult to reach an operator, but this problem is typical for all companies providing communication and Internet services.
  3. Inconvenient choice of time limits. Despite the ability to select call minutes, some users complain about the lack of options available.

Most of the shortcomings are related to the development of the network, so existing problems are quickly eliminated. Company representatives take into account requests and complaints, and then solve the problem.

Internet

As for connecting to the Internet, it is financially and technically advantageous to cooperate with Yota:

  • The client pays for speed; there is no limit on data transfer.
  • At any time, he can reduce this parameter, extending the paid service for a longer period.
  • If the funds run out, he can access the Internet for free at a speed of 64 kbit/sec. The indicator is small, but it is enough to send a message in instant messengers.

The data transfer settings are very subtle and can be changed in the application. The user has the right to choose which services are more preferable to him and to enable separate options for them. For example, unlimited on YouTube, Instagram, Vkontakte. Everything that he does not need can be excluded from the range of services. Conclusion: no one on the market offers better conditions than Iota.

Video about how Yota’s tariff setting system works:

Megafon, like other large communications companies, offers to use the paid limit, which is usually used up before the end of the month. After this, the network is disconnected, and the client is sent an SMS to the number and offered to pay for additional traffic. Iota is better in this regard: when the standard limit is used up, you can still access the Internet at minimum speed while continuing to conduct text correspondence.

The same applies to tariffs with options for unlimited use of any messenger or service. For example, Megafon included unlimited use of YouTube in the tariff for 1,000 rubles per month. For comparison, Yota offers to do the same by connecting the opportunity for 100 rubles.

Yota does not offer other paid services, much less impose anything, like Megafon. Therefore, the risk of becoming a victim of fraudsters is minimal.

Although Megafon has more stable data transmission, since the company has greater network coverage. This is especially noticeable when leaving a populated area. Plus, you need to remember the limitations of a 4-G connection: where a Yota subscriber automatically connects to 3-G, Megafon guarantees full LTE.

What networks does the operator operate on?

What frequencies does Yota operate at:

  1. Band 7 – LTE 2600 – you can use a maximum of 40 MHz, which ensures fast data transfer;
  2. Band 3 – LTE 1800 (from March 2021) – maximum band width is 10 MHz, but the signal is more stable, penetrates indoors better, and requires fewer towers for high-quality coverage.

What frequency does Yota 3G operate at?

3G is available at frequencies 2500-2530 / 2630-2650 MHz. The 3G coverage area is very wide; you can see it in detail on the map at https://www.yota.ru/coverage/#/coverage.

What frequency does Yota 4G operate at?

All modern devices produced for Russia support the frequency range on which Yota 4G operates:

  1. Band 7 – 2.62-2.69 GHz;
  2. Band 3 – 1.805-1.88 GHz.

Combining these two channels provides users with a fast, high-quality signal with good penetration.

Iota modem operating frequency

Modem setting range (Upload/Download):

  • 2500-2530/2630-2650 MHz
  • 1710 – 1785/1805 -1880 MHz.

The company offers various types of equipment: USB modem, USB modem with Wi-Fi distribution, battery-powered router.

Applications

The client has at his disposal proprietary applications from both companies. Each allows you to perform standard operations:

  • Top up your SIM card balance and find out your number.
  • Find out how much money is left in the account.
  • Change tariff.

Megafon introduced a point system for users. Accrual is made based on the funds spent on communication. Iota’s application operates differently: it is designed for quick communication with technical support and quick changes in connection speed. It is difficult to give a clear advantage to anyone.

Reviews of Yota cellular communications

“I read laudatory reviews about the tariffs of this provider and made up my mind. I bought a SIM card for my smartphone. This is really cool. I don’t pay for calls and SMS, only gigabytes and networks. Communication is really 4G, and inexpensive,” – Ilya, St. Petersburg.

“I wasn’t sure that I would use a SIM card from Iota all the time. I connected only because I travel a lot across regions, but this operator is the only one that does not have roaming. But I liked the quality of the connection so much that I abandoned my previous provider and now Iota is my main number,” Angela, Saratov.

Points of sale of services and technical support for subscribers

Yota offers to order delivery of a SIM card to the point of issue or directly to your home. This is a logical move for a virtual operator, which allows you to save on maintaining offices throughout the country.

Megafon distributes SIM cards through its communication stores. The advantage is that so far Megafon points are much easier to find than Iota.

Representatives of both operators can be contacted via the hotline. The number of offices and employees plays a role here, and Megafon is much easier to reach in this regard. The call is answered within 5-10 minutes.

You can contact an Iota technical support employee in 10-15 minutes. But you can get in touch with her by writing in the chat built into the proprietary mobile application. They respond to messages much faster than calls, and this method is much more convenient. It turns out that no company has a clear advantage.

What is the maximum achievable Internet speed Yota

Iota is one of the leading federal providers of Internet communication services, the data transfer speed is comparable to the leader - Megafon.

The Yota provider provides the following types of communication:

  1. 3G, real operating speed is 3-6 Mbit/s, which allows you to easily use social networks, surf the net, download music, watch short videos, and make video calls. Data transfer time may increase if you are on the move (walking, driving).
  2. 4G can operate at speeds of more than 100 Mbps, but actual communication speeds are no more than 35 Mbps. Iota offers users a stable signal of 10-15 Mbit/s.
  3. The modem can produce more than 20 Mbps.

The actual speed differs from the declared one not only in different regions, but also within one area; this is influenced by many factors:

  • Presence of obstacles: the signal is received on the street or indoors, such as many high-rise buildings within the range of the network;
  • The modem or telephone is in one place or on the move;
  • How far is the device from the base station;
  • Electromagnetic background influences;
  • The weather can also cause inconvenience; if it is raining or snowing outside, the signal deteriorates;
  • How fast the Internet will work depends on the time of day, the most favorable hours are at night and in the morning.

If you are in a big city and don’t download huge files, you won’t notice much of a slowdown in speed. Iota offers its users a unique opportunity - to independently regulate the required Internet speed and pay only for what you actually use. For example, if you paid for 10 Mbit/s and used 5 Mbit/s, the operator will extend the number of days of using the service and vice versa.

Further development

Iota itself uses Megafon lines, with which you can call and send messages. Internet is provided from its own base stations.

Already, both companies own the majority of LTE in the country. So far, Yota is considering options for introducing 5G and 6G, but has not yet officially announced the start of development in this direction.

Interesting! However, since they have a common infrastructure, then if in the future Iota nevertheless begins to build these high-speed lines, then the donor himself, Megafon, will use them. Plus, some of them will be rented by other operators.

Megafon tariff plans

Megafon has a popular “Turn On!” tariff line, which has several packages for different needs. It appeared recently, and has different plans suitable for specific audiences.

Video about tariff plans of the line from Megafon:

“Turn on! Communicate"

The maximum average offer for clients with average activity. For 600 rubles per month they provide:

  1. 500 min. communication with any subscriber in Russia.
  2. 20 GB of traffic and unlimited mobile TV.
  3. Unlimited access to major social networks and instant messengers.

“Turn on! Watch" An offer aimed at fans of video content. The payment is 900 rubles per month, for which a person receives:

  1. 16 GB of total traffic plus unlimited YouTube, social networks and instant messengers.
  2. 1200 conversation minutes.
  3. Megafon channels.

“Turn on! Speak"

The payment is 500 rubles per month, but the range of services is limited:

  2. 3 GB of total traffic and unlimited for messengers.

Suitable for those who are not inclined to actively use the Internet.

“Turn on! Listen"

Tariff designed for music lovers. For 300 rubles per month the client is given:

  1. 250 local minutes.
  2. 6 GB limit and unlimited for the largest music services (Yandex.Music, BOOM, VKontakte Music and Zvooq) and instant messengers.
  3. Mobile TV from Megafon.

Remember! This plan is provided throughout Russia, but intercity services are paid for differently.

“Turn on! Write"

A tariff plan built for people who engage in active text communication. The cost is 350 rubles per month. The user receives:

  1. 350 local minutes.
  2. 200 SMS in your region.
  3. 2 GB of regular traffic, and a separate limit for instant messengers.

In roaming, tariff conditions change.

“Turn on! Premium"

For particularly active Internet users and those who constantly communicate by phone. Package includes:

  1. 5000 minutes within the Russian Federation.
  2. Unlimit for most social networks and instant messengers, music services and three video hosting sites.
  3. 20 GB standard traffic.
  4. Mobile TV.

But the fee for all the possibilities is high - 3,000 rubles monthly.

Important! A Megafon subscriber can change the tariff in his personal account by changing one TP to another. The service is paid, so Iota users have an advantage here.

Yota tariff plans

Yota offers only 3 types of tariffs:

  1. For smartphone. There is a single, flexible plan. The minimum payment is 370 rubles per month, for which the client receives 200 minutes within the Russian Federation and 2 GB of traffic. For a package with 5,000 minutes and 30 GB of traffic, they will charge 2,850 rubles.
  2. For tablet. Full unlimited use is provided for three periods - a day (50 rubles), a month (500 rubles) or a year (4500 rubles). However, you won’t be able to use torrents – the system will automatically reduce the speed to a “snail” 64 kbps.
  3. For a modem or router. Traffic for a computer is not limited, but there are several dozen packages depending on the speed. The fastest Internet will cost 1,400 rubles per month. The advantage is that an unlimited connection from a PC can be distributed to other devices.

Remember! Each Yota package is provided not for a full month, but for 30 days. Traffic is regulated independently. But there are separate prices for the time period of network use. For example, 2 hours of access cost 50 rubles, a day – 150 rubles.

Plus, options are available with unlimited use of the following features:

  1. SMS messages – 50 rubles.
  2. Messengers (15 rubles for each) and social networks (25 rubles for one service).
  3. YouTube video hosting – 100 rubles per month.

Features of Yota services are as follows:

  • There is a clear division of SIM cards intended for different devices. The user can insert a SIM card for the tablet into the phone, but the system will detect this fact and the tariff will change.
  • Iota still doesn’t have enough services for its own offices. In most cities, the ordered SIM card is delivered by courier, and visiting a salon to solve problems is problematic.
  • You can ask questions to technical support in three ways - in the application, on the operator’s website in your personal account or chat.
  • The same cost for calls in the region of residence and in other constituent entities of the Russian Federation applies to everyone.
  • The client receives 30 days without roaming when traveling around Russia. Payment for services is the same as in the home region.

This is what Iota points usually look like:

Iota: what it is, how it works, and why it is needed

This player burst into the mobile and Internet communications market quickly and was able to offer potential clients a wide range of services in a short time. First, in 2007, cellular communications were organized in the Yota company (legal entity - Scartel LLC), and after 12 months the provider was able to expand the range of services by including the Internet using WiMAX technology. Already in 2009, the company was selling its own modems and working on creating a high-speed network using the LTE standard. Today it is the only operator on the Russian market that offers unlimited traffic to its customers on favorable terms. Many people associate the name of the company with a letter of the Greek alphabet; it can be translated as “Direction, movement.”

Which operator does Yota belong to and its connection with Megafon?

Clients often wonder “whose” mobile operator is Yota, and how it differs from other providers operating in Russia.

It all started in 2012, when the merger of 100% of the shares of Scartel LLC and 50% of the assets of Megafon was completed. Two years later, a large-scale advertising campaign for the new provider was launched. In 2014, based on a merger with one of the representatives of the Big Three, Yota was able to begin selling its SIM cards in the format of a virtual provider. This formulation is explained by the work of the provider based on several networks: LTE (the same 4G Internet), provided directly by Scartel equipment, and GSM, for which it is responsible. This is why there is sometimes confusion about identifying Iota's affiliation. However, today more and more users associate this operator with high-speed unlimited traffic exchange and try to give it preference when connecting to the Internet.

Who will be interested in this operator

Today, the Yota company, in which telephony and wireless Internet access were available only in six large Russian cities back in 2014, offers its services in almost all Russian regions, except for the Republic of Crimea and Chukotka. But these areas of the country will soon be within the operator’s coverage area. The range of services offered by Eta includes:

  • voice communication;
  • high speed internet;
  • inexpensive equipment to support wireless communication on a computer or laptop;
  • SIM cards for modem, smartphone and tablet.

The company provides prompt technical support to all its clients and offers affordable sets of services.

Operator benefits

Iota has proven its advantages in practice by quickly adjusting the characteristics of the services offered to the needs of a changing market.

Yota belongs not only to commercial structures; one of the owners of the company is the state corporation "Rostechnologies", working under the leadership of S. Chemizov. The participation of a representative of a government agency in the development of this service operator guarantees the high quality of the product offered and its availability to all Russian citizens.

The advantages of cooperation with a provider are due to its following features:

  • separation of SIM cards for different types of devices - smartphones, tablets, modems;
  • a small number of offices throughout the country, which does not affect the quality of service, because SIM cards are delivered by courier service;
  • prompt round-the-clock technical support for subscribers - in a special chat on the company’s website, in a mobile application, in your personal account, via a hotline, via SMS or sending an email;
  • uniform price for calls in all regions of Russia;
  • at least 30 days without roaming when traveling around Russia (at the price of “home” service);
  • availability of unlimited Internet on mobile gadgets.

Users appreciate the provider for its high-quality high-speed Internet connection, lack of roaming throughout the country, flexible and convenient tariffs, reasonable prices, and prompt feedback.

Yotaphone smartphones

In addition to providing communication services, the mobile operator Eta has created its own branded smartphone. The authorship of the gadget belongs to a subsidiary of Yota Devices. This is the first domestically produced smartphone, which in many respects is not inferior to its foreign counterparts. The first model was released in 2013. Yotaphone is a candy bar running on the Android operating system. It is designed to work in LTE networks, has screens on both sides of the body, and the rear display uses electronic ink, which is characterized by low power consumption.

Yota modems

The Yota company, as technical support for Internet communications, offers a number of adapted modems and routers for sale at reasonable prices. All models are designed to work in the LTE network and have a built-in antenna. The assortment is not very large, but each client will be able to choose exactly what they need: from a compact USB modem to a powerful Zyxel Internet center that allows you to distribute access to several devices.

In order to start accessing the network, the subscriber needs to purchase not only the device itself, but also a SIM card for it. Iota provides the client with free access for 24 hours so that he can, without haste, decide on the tariff and pay for it.

Prospects

Today many people in Russia have already heard about Iota. Over the course of several years, the company was able to gain a foothold in almost all Russian regions, offering users high-quality access to the World Wide Web via high-speed communication channels from various devices. The development of digital technologies and the demand for fast and stable communications makes this provider a promising leader in the Russian market, capable of reaching a wide range of consumers with its services.

The company's top management plans to ensure 100% coverage of the entire territory of the Russian Federation with fourth-generation networks. Brand representatives are interested in 5G and 6G standards, but no official statements have been made on this topic yet.

Iota - results

The advantages are the following:

  • You can customize the traffic to suit your needs by changing the settings at any time.
  • There are many ways to contact technical support.

There are also disadvantages:

  • At the periphery, the signal is lost, and problems arise with connecting to the Internet. In this regard, Megafon provides more stable data transmission.
  • Difficult to call support.
  • It's hard to find Yota's office. They are usually located in shopping centers, but there are no large branches.

Now you know what kind of operator Yota is, what its features are, its pros and cons. Today it is the largest company providing telephony and Internet services, operating on modern equipment and guaranteeing the provision of high quality services.

The provider provides affordable prices, which affects the ability to buy its SIM card. In particular, in some cities there are difficulties with purchasing a SIM card. Sometimes you have to order it and wait for several days. But here a lot depends on the place of residence, because in large populated areas there are no such difficulties. Regarding the quality of services, Yota is one of the leaders in Russia both in terms of the cellular network and in Internet issues.
