Important! If connected, the fee will be charged even if you did not make any calls.

Without a connection, the tariff makes no sense; it’s better to connect to the Basic tariff, minutes are cheaper there.

Special tariff for the “My Family” group: this is how Megafon’s new tariff “First Family” was officially announced. I already told you about it: the link is in the description, but now we see only the bonuses that await a subscriber with the “First Family” tariff after joining the group:

• Unlimited calls to group numbers with any balance.
• Unlimited messengers for any balance. Messengers include: Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, TamTam, Snapchat, MegaFon Life, IMO, FB messenger, eMotion, Chigap (including voice and video calls).

Tariff parameters

Options:

• SMS to other regions of Russia – 3.9 rubles per message.
• Calls to Megafon numbers in other regions of Russia – 5.1 rubles. / Min.
• SMS to local numbers – 3 rubles per message.
• Calls to landline numbers of other operators cost 2 rubles per minute.

What can I say? All this is insanely expensive. Some very modest packages cost up to half the normal rate, and some more impressive packages, such as a completely normal plan with much more coverage.

Features of the “Family” service

it is relatively young and does not operate in all regional structures of the country. This is not a separate tariff plan, but a special option, within which the subscriber has the opportunity to share minutes, messages and the Internet. The option link is available for previous All Inclusive family plans. In order for a subscriber to freely share packages, he must be authorized in the user’s personal account and call the other participants of the package there.

Despite the numerous advantages and privileges, the cost of the service can hardly be called low:

• forming a community costs 50 rubles;
• to join, each subsequent participant will have to pay 50 rubles;

Everyone who joins is recognized as a member, and the primary owner of the package does not belong to this group, so there is no need to pay for it.

Important! The Community Organizer must be enrolled in one of the following All Inclusive plans: L, L 12.16, XL, XL 12.16, VIP and VIP 12.16. At Megafon, there are no restrictions on family tariffs for family members, and the best option for them is any product without a subscription fee.

Disabling the service

Disabling this service from Megafon is done through the website. To do this, you need to go to your Personal Account and find the appropriate section. Then close the created group or remove subscribers from the general tariff plan.

Connecting the service

To share minutes, SMS and Internet with other subscribers, a Megafon subscriber with the All Inclusive tariff plan needs to create a group by inviting his relatives and friends. In this case, all participants, including the organizer, must be from the same region. That is, it is impossible to connect the option to clients from different regions. It can only be activated by those subscribers who use the Megafon All Inclusive L / VIP / L 12.16 / VIP 12.16 tariff plan. You can activate the “Megaphone Family” both in the application and through your personal account on the company’s website. The invitation to participate in the community reaches subscribers via text message.

Service management

The dialing number for a group of subscribers with a common communication package can be found by typing the following combination of numbers on the keypad: * 105 * 1469 #, then the call button. To exclude (add) a subscriber from a group or disable an option, call Megafon technical support at “0500”. To check activation, dial “0150” and press the call button. Personal opinion

It seems to me that this tariff is mainly aimed at small children and pensioners. Yes, I know that retirees are different, and many use unlimited internet, but in this case, when we talk about the “retirement rate”, we mean low cost and a modest internet package or no internet package.

By the way, as it turned out, approximately the same tariff was announced. The official statement says: “All benefits of the tariff are free and provide the opportunity to always be in touch with your children or elderly parents.”

What do we actually have, discarding all unnecessary parameters? Unlimited calls to the numbers of members of the “My Family” group, unlimited instant messaging, 1 GB of Internet. There is protection against unwanted subscriptions and, if necessary, mobile Internet access can be blocked. This is all a bit limiting: on the one hand, there are free calls to family and some “free” internet, but if you need anything else, it’s quite expensive.

Summary

Packages that are divided in the format are not suitable for everyone, but no one is forcing this service on us. If a service is not interesting to you personally, this does not mean that it is bad or useless; others may be right. It's a shame that the entry threshold starts with "All Inclusive L". For example, they would do this on All Inclusive M, even if only with the ability to connect only one member of the group. Oh, dreams... But even in its current form, “Family” can be useful, and the opportunity to choose is always a pleasure.
