The MTS “Update Package” service was created for people who did not meet the allotted limit, but do not want to lose the opportunity to communicate or overpay for the activation of additional services. They are asked to simply update all the options included in the tariff plan in order to be able to use them again. This approach allows you to maintain the ability to communicate without losing unused SMS messages, gigabytes or minutes. However, it is completely voluntary, so the operator will not force customers to use the new function if subscribers are able to do without it.
How to update a package on MTS
On March 20, 2021, MTS launched a special “Update Package” service. It is intended for customers who have run out of minutes, messages or mobile traffic for the month ahead of schedule. By taking advantage of this offer, you will be able to receive the entire range of services intended for the next month. The subscription fee will also be charged in full. The date of the next payment will be postponed and will be set exactly one month after activation of the MTS service. That is, “Update package” in fact simply changes the date of your payment for the tariff.
Using the option is free. The only thing that is charged to your account is the monthly subscription fee.
Conditions for connection
The “Update package” option works on the following tariff plans:
- The entire Smart line, including archived versions, including “Smart for your own”.
- Tariffs X, MAXI Top, Smile+, VIP, Tariffishche, WE MTS.
The “Update Package” service from MTS will not work on other offers. Also, it cannot be activated if you have a daily rather than monthly payment activated. After application, all unused services will be summed up with new ones. So, if you have run out of minutes and traffic, but have 15 messages left, after activation you will receive a new set of services and 15 more SMS in addition. They burn out first and cannot be transferred again.
How to use
This MTS offer cannot be activated in your personal account. To update your minutes, messages or internet package, you must do the following:
- Send USSD request * 929 # ;
- Send an SMS to 9290.
The SMS can have any content - empty, with a random number or letter. There is no charge for sending it, but you must have a positive balance on your phone. Before activating the “Update Package” service, do not forget to top up your account with the amount of the subscription fee. Otherwise you will go into the red.
Terms of Use
There are no special terms of use. There is no limit on the number of replenishments. You can use the service daily. The service is provided throughout Russia.
If the service is unavailable, most likely there are not enough funds in your account to renew the package. You need to top up your balance using a terminal or bank card.
The service may not be provided for other reasons:
- Blocking a mobile number. It can be disabled using your personal account, but it is better to contact the nearest MTS service branch.
- Using a different tariff. The service is provided only to Smart mini subscribers.
- Discounts on subscription fees. They must be disabled, otherwise the “Update Package” service will be unavailable.
- Daily withdrawal of funds is enabled. If connected, the monthly cost of the tariff must be debited.
How to update a package on Beeline
As such, there is no “reboot” on Beeline. To receive a new set of services from the operator, you will have to activate additional minutes, SMS and gigabytes manually.
Additional services
At the moment, Beeline offers the following options for reconnection, many of which are available only for some of the archived tariffs:
- “Calls within a tariff” - unlimited communication with subscribers who use the same tariff plan (archived “Welcome”);
- “SMS package” - 500 pieces per month or 100 pieces per day;
- “Extend speed” - 1 or 4 GB of mobile traffic.
You cannot purchase a separate set of minutes. You can view the exact prices for your region, as well as connect them, in your Beeline personal account - both on the official website and in the application.
Automatic renewal
In order not to configure the packages yourself, you can activate convenient auto-renewal - the availability and sizes of packages depend on the tariff plan used:
- 50 minutes to any numbers for 50.84 rubles;
- 100 MB for smart devices for 52 rubles;
- 3, 15, 30 GB for smartphones and tablets at prices starting from 150 rubles.
There is no such option for SMS.
How to connect tariffs with transfer of services?
These tariffs require prepayment for the options offered. Upgrading to your chosen plan is free. To switch to a new plan, you must contact your operator or visit a mobile phone store. The simplest and most accessible way is still quick commands:

- Zabugorishche - *111*1025#;
- Ultra - *111*777#.
How to update a package on Tele2
Tele2 does not provide the opportunity to update all packages for a month at once. Previously, when the traffic ended, consultants offered to reconnect the tariff plan so that the subscription fee would be removed and the options would be reactivated. Currently there are no tariffs with free connection, so this method will be too expensive. But there is another option to update the package on Tele2 ahead of schedule - you just need to select and connect the necessary options manually.
Option Sets
Currently Tele2 offers the following service options:
- “Unlimited on Tele2” - an unlimited number of calls to Tele2 customers in the region of connection;
- “100 SMS” and “300 SMS” - sets of messages to any Russian numbers;
- “Add traffic” - additional 1, 3 or 5 GB of Internet for a month or 500 MB until the end of the day.
In addition, for the Internet there is an auto-renewal function called “More”. It includes 500 MB and costs 50 rubles. for a one-time use.
Traffic Offers
In addition to the “Add traffic” function, Tele2 has other options for updating your Internet package.
Automatic renewal only works with a positive balance. If you do not have enough money to pay for it, activation will not occur until the account is replenished.
Unlimited
The following unlimited services are available for an additional subscription fee on Netariff:
- Internet without restrictions - for everything;
- unlimited traffic only to social networks - Insta, VK, Facebook, Twitter and OK.ru;
- unlimited internet for entertainment services - YouTube, TikTok and Twitch.
- unlimited calls within the MTS network.
The monthly cost of unlimited options is determined by the volume of ordered services in the main packages: the more you pay for minutes and Internet traffic, the cheaper the unlimited options will be.
For example, on Netariff with minimal parameters, unlimited access to YouTube and TikTok will cost 100 rubles monthly. With the “maximum” tariff, the same option will cost 2 times cheaper - 50 rubles per month.

You can activate unlimited options in the MTS mobile application or on the operator’s website. There are no short USSD commands for their activation.
Unlimited Internet
The maximum Internet package on Netariff includes 30 gigs. If this is not enough, then you can connect unlimited traffic to any web resources - for only 87 rubles per month. Agree, it’s not that expensive to use mobile Internet without restrictions. So what's the catch?
As long as you are in your region, there are no catches. You really use unlimited Internet on the MTS network without conditions and restrictions.
But when traveling around the country, users have access to only 30 GB of Internet at the maximum. Then the operator limits the speed to 128 kbit per second. Therefore, unlimited traffic outside the home region becomes a formality, since comfortable Internet surfing at such a speed is impossible.
Traffic distribution
Another pitfall concerns the distribution of the Internet, or more precisely, the distribution of unlimited traffic.
Within a month, on the MTS “Netariff” tariff with the “unlimited internet” option connected, you can distribute no more than 10 GB of internet via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB. Distribution in excess of this volume is paid - 80 rubles per day (debited only on days of using the service). Within the paid day (from midnight to midnight), you can share the Internet without restrictions.
If the unlimited Internet service is inactive, there are no restrictions on the distribution of mobile traffic.
How to update a package on Megafon
Like Beeline, Megafon does not offer any special services or offers when completing a set of services. Instead, you can connect all the necessary options yourself.
Communication services
Megafon provides a wide range of additional options, thanks to which you can communicate with other people.
- “Unlimited SMS” - provides an unlimited number of messages to Megafon subscribers and 100 SMS per day to phones of other operators.
- “SMS options” - 100, 300 or 600 messages per month or 100 SMS daily. The price depends on the specific option.
- “Unlimited communication” - unlimited calls to Megafon numbers in your home region and another 100 minutes a day to Megafon in Russia. Paid daily.
- “Call yours” is an option for users of the “Warm Welcome” tariff. Gives 100 minutes per day for calls to subscribers with the same tariff and only in the region of connection.
- “Favorite number” - connect 1 or 2 numbers to the service, pay for it daily and communicate with subscribers of these numbers without restrictions. The operator and region are not important.
- “300 minutes to other mobile phones” - allows you to communicate with clients of any operators in your home region. 300 minutes are provided per day.
- “1 GB”, “3 GB” - classic packages with a one-time payment. Almost no different from “Add traffic”.
Such services are incompatible with Internet discounts. If you do not have time to use up part of the connected traffic, it will be transferred to the next month.
The operator also has a separate option “Extend Internet”, which allows you to connect 1, 3, 5 or 10 GB of mobile Internet. You can also add 70 MB of Internet - this option is useful for smart devices. Availability depends on the connected tariff or internet option.
How to connect
You can purchase an additional set of traffic:
- On the official website at megafon.ru;
- In a proprietary mobile application;
- By calling technical support specialists;
- By typing the USSD command for a specific option.
The easiest option is to come to the Megafon office and explain to the consultant what you need. He will help you choose a suitable offer or change the tariff to a more convenient one, if necessary.
When the service is unavailable
The operator reserves the right to refuse an update in cases where:
- there are not enough funds on the balance to pay for the subscription;
- number is blocked;
- the user switched to daily billing;
- the subscriber is entitled to a 100% discount on services covering the subscription fee;
- Among the included packages there are no those that are highlighted by the service.
Also, refusals come to people who did not pay for the previous period of service provision. This happens if a person has just unblocked his SIM card and has not waited for it to be written off.
How to update a package on Motive
Motive is a Russian regional cellular operator that operates in 4 regions of the Ural Federal District:
- Sverdlovsk region;
- Kurgan region;
- Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug;
- Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
It belongs to the Ekaterinburg Cellular Communications company, which in the 1990s operated under the Beeline brand. We can say that Motiv is Beeline’s younger brother. To update your tariff package with this operator, you need to use the special “Reboot” service.
Like the offer from MTS, it allows you to reactivate your regular tariff plan and receive a set of services ahead of schedule.
How to activate
There are several options for updating your service package on Motiv:
- Dial USSD request * 114 * 19 # ;
- Send a message with any text to number 1019;
- Call the operator at 88002400000;
- Log in to your personal account on the website motivtelecom.ru by entering your phone number or personal account number, as well as your password;
- Download the “MOTIV” mobile application and find the offer you need in the “Services” section;
- Check connectivity on the service page by entering your phone number in the “Quick check” field.
You can also always come to the Motive office and ask the consultants to set up “Reboot” for you.
Requirements and additional features
“Reboot” works only on 7 tariff plans:
- Black>
- The most black;
- Green;
- Yellow;
- Red;
- Tariff 139;
- Your own tariff.
Together with it, you can also activate “Transfer of balances” and “Exchange minutes to GB”. The first add-on allows you to save minutes, traffic and messages for the next validity period. The second allows you to get Internet in exchange for minutes. However, it is worth considering that “Reboot” and “Transfer of balances” are mutually exclusive services. When you activate a package update at your rate, unused balances will not be saved.
