designed to access the World Wide Web from one mobile device. It provides a 75 megabyte traffic package, which is only enough for a little Internet surfing. More extensive Internet capabilities are not available with this option. Therefore, many subscribers do not like the small Internet package, and they are trying to find ways to disable it on MTS.
MTS
In your personal account on the MTS website
If the user has a computer, laptop or tablet, then it is convenient to do all the steps through the official website. You can find it using any web browser.
- Once on the site, the client must hover the mouse cursor (or point his finger) at the “Personal Account” command in the upper right corner;
- To log in, you will need to enter your login (the subscriber's phone number without the number eight) and request a password via SMS. You can log in using social networks;
- The Personal Account page will open, where the client can obtain any information. You will need to click on the “Service Management” section and then click on the “All connected services” command;
- You will need to find the option in the list and click on the cross to disable it.
Description, features, conditions, cost
BIT gives the subscriber 75 MB per day with the possibility of auto-renewal of traffic for a fee. If the quota is exhausted, another 50 MB are added, and so on up to 15 times.
Each new 50 MB package will cost the subscriber 8 rubles. In total, per day within the framework of this service, the user can receive 825 MB for 128 rubles.
The data transfer rate is unlimited within the package. Exceptions are made for Internet services with premium tariffs (infotainment subscriptions) and file hosting services (content loading is artificially slowed down).
After the quota is exhausted, the speed drops to 0 until the end of the day (package update). In this case, add traffic by connecting the Turbo button (from 100 MB to 20 GB). Unused megabytes are burned, including those that were added as part of auto-renewal.
Important! A 75 MB package is enough to update phone software, receive and send mail, and load “light” websites. This is enough for using social networks and instant messengers, only if the subscriber does not view or download videos and music. For such purposes, it is better to switch to the option with a larger quota.
The option is valid only in the number's service region. When traveling around the country, access to the network will be charged at the rate of 1 MB = 9.9 rubles.
By paying BIT monthly, the subscriber spends 200 rubles. per month, if daily - 240 rubles. (8 rubles per day). The option switches to daily debits if there is no required amount on the balance on the date of the next payment. Even if there is not enough money for the daily fee, the data transfer is “frozen”.
In the "My MTS" application
The provider provides special software that is beneficial for clients to use. With it, you can view the tariff, conditions, enable and disable functions. The algorithm of actions is as follows:
- You will need to download the application from Google Play or Apple Store, and then log in to the program. When using mobile Internet, login will occur automatically;
- In the program menu, you need to click on the “Services” block, and in the window that opens, point your finger at the “Connected” command;
- Among the options you will need to find “BIT” and deactivate it (the color of the slider should change from red to gray). In addition, additional options can be connected to this function. You need to scroll through the list and disable everything related to this option.
Shutdown
To disable the option, use:
- USSD request *111*252#. In the window that appears, you need to select “2”;
- Personal account on the operator’s website (page “Service Management”);
- “My MTS” application (section “Services”);
- by calling the hotline at 0890 (8-800-2500890). To identify the client, the operator will ask for a code word or passport data.
Carefully! When disabling the option, make sure that another Internet service is installed on the number, at least MiniBIT. Otherwise, any traffic consumption in an amount greater than 250 KB will be charged at the rate of 1 MB = 9.9 rubles. So, a banal auto-update of the phone software can cost a lot of money.
Call to operator
In order not to get confused in the commands, the user can call the provider and make a disconnection request. To do this, you will need the passport of the person for whom the SIM card was issued, the tariff and the service. The subscriber needs to dial 0890 and listen to voice commands, and then wait for the operator to respond. After successful authorization in the database, the user must indicate his desire. The operator will disable the function, and a corresponding notification will be sent to the subscriber’s number.
Interaction with other options
BIT is suitable for tariff plans without subscription fees:
- "Super MTS";
- Red Energy;
- "Second-by-second";
- "Your country".
They do not include a traffic package, but to save clients money, the MiniBIT service is added by default. The BIT option cannot be activated for Smart, Hype, Ultra and Connect tariffs.
You will not be able to activate the option if the SIM card is already installed:
- old modification of BIT;
- archived traffic package with monthly updates;
- Internet option designed for the “Connect” tariff.
BIT can be combined with MiniBIT. In this case, the second option is inactive.
Advice! MTS specialists recommend installing these 2 options simultaneously. MiniBIT is free and only debits money for packages when they are actually spent. By accidentally turning off BIT, the subscriber does not risk going into the red, for example, due to automatic updating of the smartphone.
“MTS Bit” option for bonuses
The BIT option can be selected as a gift in MTS Bonus. This is a special program from the operator, under which customers accumulate points by spending money on mobile communications, purchases in the company’s online store and points of sale, transactions with the MTS-Money credit card, etc.
The list of rewards, promotional conditions and all useful information are available on the MTS website.
BIT costs 480 points. The option is activated for 30 days, then goes into paid mode (200 rubles per month or 8 rubles daily). According to the quota and conditions, the bonus BIT is similar to the standard one.
The procedure for connecting the BIT option for points:
- Make sure that the number does not have an active BIT service.
- Log in to the mobile application, open the “MTS Bonus” section.
- Select the BIT option from the reward catalog. The connection will occur within 15 minutes; your bonus balance will decrease by 480 points.
You can order a service as a reward using the USSD request *111*455#. In the windows that open, select 3-4-1-1 sequentially.
How to disable the BIT option: detailed options
Today, each subscriber can solve the problem of deactivating the network access service in absolutely several possible ways, choosing the only one of which is offered in accordance with his preferences.
- To disable mobile Internet using the BIT system, you are asked to dial a key combination of the form “*111*252*2#” + “Call” or “*252*0#” + “Call” on your mobile phone. Both USSD requests will work the same, giving you the opportunity to disable data transfer over the Internet.
- The next option is to contact any nearest MTS LLC office. On site, experienced specialists will definitely help you resolve the issue, since disconnecting the Internet on your phone is a very common problem. Many people try to save certain amounts of money as savings, but do not know how to take the necessary correct steps.
IMPORTANT: Traditionally, our portal strongly recommends not to forget your passport or driver’s license before leaving, since specialists will be forced to check the match between the personal data of the applicant and the real card holder.
- The next option to resolve the issue is to work with the SMS Center of the mobile operator. How to do it? Pick up your mobile phone and dial a number like “111”. Next, create a message with the text “628” and send a notification. By this action you activate a request to suspend the provision of mobile Internet services via the BIT system.
- Among other things, you can also use the Internet sphere. To do this, it is advisable to work with the “Internet Assistant”. So, you are invited to go to the official portal of MTS LLC and on the main page at the top right side, click on the tab with the same name. After the computer redirects you to the main page of the option, you can log in to the system by entering your username and password. Next, you will be asked to go to “Services”, where you select “Mobile Internet”. Click on “Connect” next to “BIT”, and the data transfer service via the Network will be deactivated on your cell phone.
IMPORTANT: Do not forget that the loss of identifying data such as “Login” and “Password” can cause very significant difficulties. The recovery time will be extremely long, moreover, you will need to spend your day coming to the office and providing all the necessary documents for the recovery procedure.
Brief description of tariffs Bit, SuperBit, Bit Smart, Minibit
Users of mobile phones and smartphones are offered several tariff options, depending on how much traffic a particular subscriber needs, let’s consider the main ones:
- Bit. An option that allows you to use 75 MB of traffic per day at maximum speed for 200 rubles per month. It is used by many users to receive notifications and communicate on social networks through special applications for mobile systems.
- SuperBit. This option has advanced parameters that allow a subscriber to download at a maximum speed of 3 GB for 350 rubles per month. The amount of traffic per day is not limited. It is often connected by young people who use the Internet not only for work or communication, but also as a center for digital entertainment during moments of relaxation.
- Bit Smart is an analogue of the simple Bit option, but unlike it, it allows you to use the service without payment purchasing a SIM card In the future, the subscription fee will be 8 rubles per day if the client uses more than 2 MB of traffic during testing days.
- MiniBit is an option from MTS that allows fairly inexpensive access to the network for those who need it periodically and who do not want to spend money on a daily or monthly subscription fee.
When to turn off the Internet
The MTS operator fully admits that some subscribers will want to turn off the Internet at their dacha, since they do not need the mobile network.
Many grandparents think that it is because of the mobile Internet that they quickly lose money from their phone, so often older people want to disconnect from this option. They only use the phone for calls.
Many parents decide to remove access to the Internet so that their children do not go online without permission. Parents can also block access to the Internet when they notice that their child is clearly addicted to a smartphone. There are also subscribers who turn off the service to save money.
Refusal may be necessary if a person does not have access to the World Wide Web or there are few funds left in the account, or he is simply afraid that the main traffic will run out.
Ways to disable additional MTS Internet traffic packages
The operator offers several universal algorithms for discarding unnecessary options. For this we use:
- command requests (USSD);
- online self-service service Personal Account;
- mobile application "My MTS"
- call to the call center;
- visit to a company communications salon.
Let us immediately draw your attention to the fact that directly contacting an MTS specialist by phone 0890 or 88002500890 with a request to change the number settings requires the presentation of passport data to go through the procedure for identifying the owner of the SIM card.
The same requirements are imposed on users during a targeted visit to the nearest operator’s office. Despite the inconvenience associated with lengthy calls to the call center or time spent traveling to the salon, the provider’s employee has all the necessary skills and technical capabilities to quickly resolve the issue of how to disable additional Internet on MTS.
In addition, the subscriber himself can get unlimited access to changes in the settings of his SIM card by registering on the operator’s website in his Personal Account or by installing its mobile equivalent, the “My MTS” utility, into the memory of his smartphone (tablet). You can read more about this in our thematic reviews devoted to authorization in your Personal Account and a description of the “My MTS” application, which is available in versions for iOS, Windows and Android.
How to disable additional Internet from MTS in your Personal Account
Since the algorithm for using the online self-service service is the same for all Internet services, we will provide universal instructions that will allow you to quickly disable an unnecessary option:
- go to the Personal Account menu ("My MTS" application);
- open the Service Management section;
- go to the All connected services tab;
- select the desired option from the list;
- disable by unchecking the box next to it.
Services are connected in the same way. In this case, you need to check the box with the required option.
If for some reason this convenient method of refusing additional Internet traffic packages does not suit you or is not available, you should give preference to special USSD commands. Here it is necessary to take into account that each service has its own individual request, so the subscriber needs to know exactly the name of the option to be deactivated.
