Review of tariffs for calls to Belarus
The easiest way to use mobile communications for calls to Belarus, because the mobile phone is always in your pocket - we take it out, dial the number and wait for the callee to answer. Another thing is that the cost of calls can be high. We carefully studied the tariff plans of Russian mobile operators and found out which of them provides the most favorable prices for calls to Belarus.
Beeline
The standard cost of calls to Belarus for Beeline subscribers is 35 rubles/min, regardless of the tariff plan used. The exception is the “Per-Second” tariff, where the cost of calls in this direction is 24 rubles / min - this is a rather advantageous offer. In addition, some tariffs have a free “Welcome” option, which reduces the cost of calls to Belarus to 30 rubles/min. However, it is still very expensive, and “Per Second” is not suitable for everyone.
As an alternative, you can purchase a SIM card with “Per Second” exclusively for calls to Belarus. But fiddling around with reinstalling SIM cards is quite tedious - it’s good if the second slot is free.
MTS
The cost of calls to Belarusian numbers from the mobile operator MTS is 35 rubles/min, and on almost all current tariff plans. But there is an opportunity to save money by activating the “Profitable international calls” option. It is provided with a subscription fee of 75 rubles/month and includes a fixed cost of calls to numbers of any operators in foreign countries. The cost of calls to Belarus in this case will be 25 rubles/min to mobile and landline phones.
An alternative solution is to connect to the “Your Country” tariff plan. It was created specifically for cheap calls abroad. The cost of one minute of communication with Belarus will be 25 rubles/min, and without any subscription fee. Local calls will cost 2.5 rubles/min, within the tariff plan - only 1 rubles/min. Mobile Internet at the tariff is paid according to one of the options:
- “First Internet package” – includes 3 GB/month with a subscription fee of 12 rubles/day. The cost of one month will be 360 rubles. The option is enabled by default for all new subscribers and is activated after using up 3 MB of traffic;
- “Basic Internet tariffication” - the cost of traffic will be 25 rubles for every 20 MB. The option can be activated using the USSD command *111*1430#/
The classic per-megabyte tariff is not available to new subscribers - it is valid only for those who connected to MTS before April 4, 2021.
Tele 2
You usually expect the lowest prices from Tele2. But in the case of calls to Belarus, there is nothing to wait for - on all tariff plans, the cost of calls in this direction is 30 rubles / min. There are no additional options to reduce the cost of calls to Belarusian numbers - the “Simple Geography” option does not work in this direction.
Megaphone
The cost of calls to Belarus on MegaFon tariff plans is fixed - 39 rubles / min at any time of the day or night. The rate is valid for both package tariffs and classic ones. The “Call to all countries” option will help reduce costs, provided with a subscription fee of 2.1 rubles/day (for the first 30 days after connection, 63 rubles are charged one-time). When you activate the option, calls to any Belarusian numbers cost 30 rubles/min.
Also for subscribers of tariff plans “Turn on!” and “All Inclusive” the “Warm Welcome +” option is available. The subscription fee is 2 rubles/day, the first 14 days are free. Calls to Belarusian mobile and landline numbers cost 25 rubles/min.
Please note that the “Call to all countries” option is valid only within the connection region, in contrast to the “Warm Welcome +” option, which works throughout Russia.
Virtual operators
The largest virtual operators in Russia include Tinkoff Mobile, SberMobile and Danycom. They provide the following rates for calls to Belarus:
- Tinkoff Mobile – fixed 29 rubles/min to mobile and landline phones in Belarus. There are no options to reduce the cost of calls;
- SberMobile – 30 rubles/min to numbers from CIS countries, including Belarusian ones. There are no modifier options; it will not be possible to reduce communication costs;
- Danycom – a single tariff of 30 rubles/min for all current tariff plans, including those provided free of charge.
Thus, the cost of calls to Belarus among virtual operators is approximately the same.
So that the abundance of numbers does not cause dizziness, let’s summarize the results of our review and present the minimum prices for calls to Belarus in the form of a table:
Rate | Beeline | MTS | Tele 2 | Megaphone | Tinkoff Mobile | SberMobile | Danycom |

The cheapest way is IP telephony
If you don’t want to bother with SIM cards, options and subscription fees, use IP telephony services. Its advantages:
Feedback from our reader
My company required IP telephony that would meet a number of requirements: the presence of a PBX, the ability to use numbers from different regions, reasonable prices and the ability to quickly resolve issues. I chose from several providers on the market, and finally settled on Zadarma, it meets all our requirements. Read more >>>
- Lower prices for long-distance and international calls - depending on the direction, the difference can reach several hundred percent;
- Easy connection - just register an account with the selected provider;
- It is not necessary to buy equipment - you can get by with a computer with a headset or a smartphone with an application installed on it;
- No mandatory subscription fees - no mandatory payments specific to landline phones or options from cellular operators.
Anyone can become an IP telephony subscriber - just choose a provider, register an account and configure the equipment.
As a reasonable alternative to traditional mobile communications, we recommend choosing the Zadarma operator. Its subscribers can expect tariffs without a monthly fee with the most attractive cost of calls to Belarus. Prices are not much, but lower than those of cellular operators and city telephony. But it’s impossible to call them extremely low - Belarus is an expensive destination for all operators.
The cheapest tariff from Zadarma is “Economy”. It is provided without a subscription fee, billing is per minute, and there is no connection fee. The tariff plan is available to all subscribers; premium routes are used for connections for the highest quality of communication. The cost of calls to Belarus via Zadarma is 21.28 rubles/min – this is slightly cheaper than with mobile operators.
What to use for calls
For calls via IP telephony the following are used:
- An ordinary browser - connect a headset (or a microphone with headphones or speakers) to the computer, go to your personal account, select “Call from the site” there, dial the number and wait for the called party to answer. Laptop owners can take advantage of the built-in speakers and microphone;
- The “Zadarma for computer” application will provide convenient reception of incoming calls without launching a browser. As in the previous option, the subscriber will need a headset or microphone with headphones. The application does not require complex settings and starts working immediately after entering the SIP ID and password;
- Zadarma mobile application for Android and iOS - does not require complex settings, starts working immediately after entering the SIP ID and password;
- An IP phone of any model is similar to a traditional landline phone, but connects not to the telephone network, but to the Internet. Its advantage is that it allows you to receive calls without the computer being turned on.
To register an IP telephony account, fill out the form on this page. Enter your email address, real username and password (twice). Confirm your registration by following the link in the email, enter your mobile phone number in your account and receive 20 bonus rubles to check the quality of your connection.
SIP ID is an analogue of a telephone number in IP telephony. For the Zadarma operator it is a six-digit number.
To make a test call to Belarus, log into your account and go to the “Services – Call from the site” section, dial the phone number and wait for the connection. We also recommend trying the “Zadarma for Windows” program - and install it on your PC, launch it and enter the SIP ID and password. To obtain a SIP ID and password, go to the “Settings – SIP Connection” section and copy the required data.
Enter the SIP ID and password into the application, wait for the connection to be established, try calling Belarus. The mobile application for Android and iOS is configured in the same way.
Free methods - Viber, Skype, WhatsApp
If IP telephony and mobile communications seem expensive (a minute costs at least 21-25 rubles), use popular instant messengers - in Russia these are Viber, Skype and WhatsApp. They allow you to make voice calls, share files and photos, and make video sessions. The advantage of these messengers is the ability to make calls absolutely free, all over the world. The main thing is that both subscribers use the same messenger.
In Russia they love to call via WhatsApp - tens of millions of people use it. If you look at the phone book through the application, you will notice that this messenger is installed on 80-90% of subscribers in the entire book. Find the desired Belarusian subscriber in the list, click on the call button, wait for the communication session to be established. You can make calls both through a mobile application and through a computer - this is true for all of the above services.
The Viber messenger offers the ability to call traditional mobile and landline numbers, but not for free - a minute of call to Belarus costs from 37 rubles, depending on the current exchange rate.
