What if the megabyte package is limited and is about to be exhausted? Then you will either have to wait for the update next month by paying a subscription fee, or connect additional options, which, of course, are not free. However, there is an alternative - traffic extension. And in this case, you need not only to figure out how to extend the Internet on MegaFon, but also to understand whether it is advisable.
MegaFon offers to extend Internet access to subscribers of other branches
In some regions, MegaFon options have been changed or are missing altogether. For example, residents of Norilsk and Taimyr MR for 16 ₽ every day can extend the package by 15 MB for use in the DR. 700 ₽ costs 1 GB. For 350 ₽ you can extend your traffic by 500 MB. They also have access to: “Extend Internet XS” (15 MB per day for 15 ₽), “Internet XS” (0.5 GB for 410 ₽) and “On the go.”
Subscribers of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug use only 6 MegaFon services:
- 50 MB per day (16 ₽);
- 1 GB (1100 ₽);
- 3 GB (1500 ₽);
- 5 GB (1700 ₽);
- 500 MB (505 ₽);
- XS 100 MB (30 ₽ per connection);
- Internet XS (50 MB per day for 16 ₽);
- On the way (3 ₽).
The “500 MB” function is also provided in: Sakhalin, Amur, Magadan regions, Buryatia, Kamchatka Territory, Jewish Autonomous Okrug, Tyva, etc.

Restrictions on the use of traffic speed extension services
First of all, your attention should be drawn to the fact that all of the above services do not operate in certain regions of the country, namely:
- Kamchatka Krai.

- Taimyr municipal district.
- Norilsk and Magadan region.

Also, we have already said that packages have time limits, that is, the entire volume must be used before the end of the reporting period . Otherwise, additional megabytes will be burned and will not be compensated.
Another limitation is territorial - services to extend Internet speed can only be used in the area where the main service package is activated.

Description, cost and management of the “Auto-renewal XS” option
If you previously had the “Internet XS” line option activated, and you have exhausted your daily Internet allowance and have enough funds in your account, MegaFon will automatically activate “XS Auto Renewal”. If traffic runs out on it, you will be consistently provided with up to 15 megabyte packages per day. The first and last packages consist of 115 MB and cost 6 rubles each.
When all 15 packets are consumed, the data rate will drop to 0 Kbps. It will resume when:
- reconnecting “Auto-renewal XS”;
- activating another option from the “Extend Internet” series;
- the onset of a new billing period and ordering a service.
The session is rounded up to 250 KB. People who have MegaFon services, which provide daily allocation, can automatically extend their traffic. If “Be at home” and “Internet in Russia” are activated, the use of megabytes is carried out on the terms of intranet roaming.
