MTS tariff X (“X”)

is a tariff plan that has existed for a long time, and previously it was known as “Hype”. Several years have passed since the review, and the tariff has undergone some changes, so I decided to review the current version of tariff X and compare it with analogues from competitors.

Advantages of MTS tariff “X”

Tariff “X” is aimed at subscribers who spend a lot of time on social networks, use instant messengers, watch videos and download music through various services.

Additionally, the following advantages of the “X” tariff can be noted:

• Access to the most popular Internet resources on the tariff plan is free and unlimited .
• 7 GB traffic package for a subscription fee , which is used when accessing resources not included in the list of free ones.
• Availability of included packages of minutes and SMS .
• Possibility of connecting a landline number.
• Free calls to MTS customers from any region of Russia without restrictions on number and duration.

Why “Hype” was renamed into the “IKS” or “X” tariff

At the end of July 2018 , MTS renamed the well-known youth tariff “ Hype ” to “ X ”. All associated options and services have also been renamed. Let us briefly explain why this renaming occurred.

When we found out the news on the MTS website about the change in the name of the tariff plan, we were very surprised. A popular tariff with an interesting name suddenly became some kind of incomprehensible “ X ”. About a year ago I submitted an application to Rospatent to register the name “ Hype ” as a trademark. This application was approved. Other companies have not registered this trademark. Therefore, today the true owner of the name “ Hype ” is.

The legal department of MTS did not foresee this situation. But lawyers filed a claim against the MTS operator for unlawful use of someone else's trademark. According to some sources, the amount claimed amounts to several hundred million rubles. tried to force MTS to remove the names “ HYIP ” from tariff plans, options and services. Therefore, the name changed.

Disadvantages of the tariff

Tariff “X” is not universal and suitable for all cellular subscribers without exception. The following disadvantages must be taken into account:

• Small quota for calls to other operators. Only a package for 100 minutes for calls to phones in the region where the SIM card was purchased.
• After the basic Internet package is exhausted, you will have to pay extra for additional packages or resign yourself to using only free resources.
• Possibility to pay the subscription fee daily only for 1 month. Then you will have to pay monthly.

Important! The tariff plan is not intended for a modem. If a SIM card with a tariff is used in a modem, Internet access is limited. Its speed will drop to 128 Kbps. The recommended tariff for modems is “For a laptop”.

Services and additional options

In addition to the main package, MTS offers users of the “X” tariff plan a number of additional ones. You can set different melodies or information messages (weather forecast, exchange rates) for outgoing calls instead of a waiting tone. The service is valid for free for 2 months, then it is automatically removed if the subscriber does not activate its paid version.

A subscriber who subscribes to tariff “X” receives:

Important! It should be taken into account that many services use the insertion of materials (videos, pictures) from other resources. At the same time, the client will gradually consume the main Internet package of 7 GB.

If Internet traffic runs out

The 7 GB Internet package may end at the most inopportune moment, when you need to view important information from resources not included in the list of free ones. So that the client does not have to deal with inconvenience in such a situation, from May 30, 2021, the company began to automatically connect additional packages. 500 MB traffic for 95 rubles.

In total, up to 15 packages of 500 MB each can be automatically connected before updating the main limit. This is inconvenient for customers and can lead to additional costs. To refuse automatic renewal, the subscriber can use the account on the website, mobile application or command *111*936#.

Cost of tariff “X” (X) from MTS

The subscription fee for tariff “X” depends on the region in which the client connected to the network. In Moscow and the Moscow region, 500 rubles for a month of using it . In other regions of the Russian Federation the price may be lower or higher.

How to disable a tariff plan?

In the event that you need to disable the “X” tariff - temporarily suspend the service of your number and charge the subscription fee, activate the number blocking in your Personal Account or visit the nearest MTS office.

If you want to continue using your number, but the tariff options are no longer relevant for you, you can change it to a more suitable one. For example, you can replace it with a tariff without a subscription fee - “Per Second”, “Red Energy”, “Super MTS”, or vice versa, choose a tariff plan with a large number of services included - “Unlimited” or “Smart”.

How to connect a tariff

Tariff “X” can be activated by concluding an agreement with the operator and purchasing a new SIM card on the website or in the showroom. In this case, no additional actions are required on the client's part.

Existing MTS customers can switch to tariff “X” in the following ways:

• in the mobile application;
• through your personal account on the website;
• using the command *111*1010*1#.

Subscribers of other operators can also go to MTS with their number and immediately connect to the “X” tariff. To do this, they need to leave a request on the website or in the operator’s showroom.

Unlimited doesn't work

Some tariff users complain that unlimited services actually consume the Internet package. Therefore, I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the restrictions specified in the detailed description. For example, only videos are unlimited on YouTube, but push notifications are not unlimited for any of the apps.

The “Services X” option is added automatically when connecting or switching to the “X” tariff and provides unlimited access to the specified resources (on YouTube - only videos), the use of which does not consume 7 GB of traffic included in the tariff, with the exception of traffic:

• built-in from third-party resources (RuTube, Vimeo, Yandex.Maps, etc.), as well as web.telegram.org;
• push notifications and updates
• while other applications are running in the background
• when downloading applications from the Windows Store
• when using services through the Opera browser, as well as any other browser in data compression mode (traffic compression)
• when accessing the Internet via a WAP access point (wap.mts.ru) - when using private browsing mode (incognito) - a member of the "Unified Internet" group

Comparison with My Smart MTS tariff

The “My Smart” tariff differs from the “X” tariff plan in the large packages of traffic and minutes included in the subscription fee. Even with a minimum subscription fee of 500 rubles/month. it will already include 10 GB of Internet and 200 minutes for calls to customers of other operators of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation where the SIM card was purchased. But on the “My Smart” TP there is no opportunity to watch videos on Youtube for free, communicate on popular social networks, etc.

Tariff plan “X” is suitable for clients who are used to communicating a lot through instant messengers and social networks, but rarely make calls. But you need to take into account that this tariff requires certain control over the consumption of traffic included in the subscription fee.

The main advantages and features of the tariff

Initially, before being renamed “ICS”, the tariff got its name from the word “hype”, popular among young people today, borrowed from the English language. Translated into Russian, the word means something like “hype” or “hype.” What's the biggest fuss about today? Around the Internet, around social networks, around instant messengers, of course. So the tariff with the loud name “Hype” offers subscribers to use most of the most popular and “hype” Internet services in unlimited mode. The main thing is to pay the subscription fee on time in the amount stipulated by the conditions.

Is Internet on tariff “X” really unlimited?

Tariff “X” includes the use of contracted applications, platforms and similar Internet resources without restrictions. For those for whom the proposed platforms are not enough (see the list above), an additional 7 GB of Internet volumes are provided, which are consumed when it is turned on and the traffic is actively used.

If you are satisfied with 7 GB mobile Internet, the option can be disabled using the USSD code. You can reactivate it at any time.

In addition, there is a “+Internet” package from MTS, which increases the volume of mobile Internet. It costs:

• 300 RUR for 3 GB;
• 400 RUR for 5 GB;
• 500 RUR for 10 GB.

When you do not need automatic traffic renewal, you can use the “Turbo button” function. Its cost starts from 30 rubles. If there are no tariff plans with activated mobile data consumption, the mobile fee. Internet depends on the price of the “Turbo button” and 1 MB of volume.

Package characteristics

Allotted minutes, SMS and gigabytes are credited in batches. Each client has the right to spend them within 1 calendar month. A SIM card with a tariff can be used on smartphones or tablets. Connection via modem is not provided. Traffic within the package can be distributed to other devices. Provided traffic volume

Subscribers have unlimited access to the most visited resources. In addition, 7 GB are allocated for the use of other Internet sites in the Russian Federation, with the exception of the Crimean Peninsula. Unlimited sites do not consume the tariff package.

Subscription fee amount

The cost of the subscription fee is 520 rubles. If the required amount is not on the balance, the tariff is blocked, and only incoming SMS and calls become available to the client.

There is a special offer for new subscribers: during the first month, payment for tariff “X” from MTS is made daily in the amount of 17.5 rubles. per day. Then, when using the package, money is debited from the account once a month.

The tariff description states that each subscriber automatically gets access to additional functions:
