Ask a Question

What number to dial to call an ambulance from a mobile phone in Moscow for Tele2, Megafon, Beeline, MTS operators? How to call an ambulance via Skype or SMS? Useful tips that can save your life and the patient nearby are in our memo.

Not everyone remembers how to call an ambulance from a specific mobile operator, unlike emergency medical services (EMS) numbers from a landline phone. The most important information is forgotten in a state of shock. It is not enough for the victim to simply call an ambulance; he must remember a clear procedure for his own actions. The speed of the dispatcher’s reaction, the time of arrival of the team, the health condition and life of the patient depend on you.

What number to call an ambulance in Moscow

To call an ambulance in Russia, as in Moscow, there is a single emergency phone number - 112. After connecting and describing the current situation, the dispatcher will redirect the call to the appropriate authority. This may be the emergency room, psychiatry and other authorities. The number was deliberately chosen to be short, easy to remember and can be dialed quickly in any situation.

It is important to know that number 112:

  • Free for all mobile operators;
  • Operates around the clock, 7 days a week, without weekends and holidays;
  • Active in the European Union along with 911;
  • Allows you to make a call even when the card is blocked, is not inserted into the device at all, or there is no network coverage.

You can call it in absolutely any emergency situation. If you don’t remember the phone number of a specific service, dial 112, the operator will make a decision based on the situation you described and transfer the call to the right department.

The first ambulance station during the Russian Empire was opened in Warsaw in 1897. The appearance of the first ambulances in Moscow dates back to 1898.

Ask your loved ones and friends for the ambulance number - it is quite possible that the answer will unpleasantly surprise you. The correct current numbers are published in our memo. Save them in your mobile phone's address book and ask your child to remember them.

Cases in which an emergency call is necessary

Qualified Moscow ambulance doctors are always ready to assist victims, immediately arrive when called and take emergency measures to save their health. However, every person should know in which situation it is necessary to immediately go to the emergency room, and in which situation you can take the necessary measures yourself or go to the clinic.

For example, many people rush to the phone to call an ambulance when they have a high temperature. However, in most cases, you can bring it down yourself, having antipyretic drugs on hand. An increase in temperature is a natural protective reaction of the body during a cold. With proper drug treatment and adherence to the regimen, the patient’s condition will stabilize within 2-3 days.

You should resort to the help of emergency doctors when the temperature reaches alarming levels (above 40°C) or if it does not subside for more than 3 days.

Calling an ambulance in Moscow is needed in the following situations:

  • the occurrence of acute pathology;
  • sudden exacerbation of a chronic disease;
  • sudden manifestation of a dangerous disease;
  • receiving dangerous injury.

At the same time, to treat a chronic disease without exacerbation, calling an ambulance is not only unnecessary, but also harmful . Here it is necessary to contact the attending physician at the clinic, who has information about the dynamics of the disease, is familiar with the current condition of the patient and knows what treatment was prescribed. While emergency doctors prescribe potent drugs that are designed to quickly improve the patient’s condition and eliminate the threat to life. Such drugs are not suitable for conventional treatment; they can only cause additional harm to the body.

You should not call an ambulance in order to get recommendations for treatment of a chronic disease, to obtain prescriptions for drugs or a certificate. These actions are not within the competence of emergency physicians. There are doctors or nurses at the clinic for this.

Sometimes an ambulance call ends with the fact that, after examining the patient, the doctors call the local doctor from the clinic to see him, since the case is within his competence. But such a specialist could be called by the patient himself or his relatives, without going to emergency care. Time is lost both for the patient and for the ambulance team, which may be more needed elsewhere.

It is necessary to remember that the doctor from the clinic will come any day of the week, even weekends.

Just remember to give the actual address of the patient’s stay, and not his registration address. It also does not matter whether the patient has an insurance policy or not - the doctor will come when called in any case.

In case of injury, you need to call an ambulance when there is a serious danger to health or life (for example, severe blood loss or pain). In case of minor injury, you need to get to the clinic on your own or with the help of loved ones or relatives, where doctors will provide the necessary assistance. Here they will make a decision about the need for hospitalization.

When calling an ambulance in Moscow, you need to know that its staff includes specialists in various fields. Both therapists and pediatricians work here. The necessary specialist will arrive as part of the team, provide emergency assistance and recommend further actions. If the doctor considers it necessary to hospitalize the patient, he will issue a referral to the appropriate department of the hospital.

Why can’t you call “03” from Megafon?

Calling an ambulance from a mobile phone using the short number “03” is impossible due to the fact that cellular communication standards do not support dialing short two-digit telephone numbers. The client will also not be able to call “01”, “02” and “04”.

Attention! To make an emergency call, cellular operators provide internal three-digit combinations, calls to which are supported by the GSM mobile communication standard.

A stressful emergency situation requires an immediate response. To contact doctors from a Megafon cell phone, the subscriber will need to dial “112” and “030”. Calls do not require funds on the SIM card balance, and can be made at any time of the day from any region of the Russian Federation. Questions from subscribers

Is it possible to call with a zero balance?

You can contact an ambulance at 903 without funds in your subscriber account. The only limitation is roaming. If the balance is negative, communication will be impossible.

Therefore, it is worth taking an alternative route and calling the universal number 112, which is available without money, and even without a SIM card in the corresponding tray of a smartphone or tablet.

Is it possible to call the SP for consultation?

The support service of the telecommunications operator MOTIV works around the clock and is available at numbers 8 800 240 0000 (free call) and 111, as well as in WhatsApp and Viber messengers through a search using the combination +7 953 603 70 33. And, if you have a negative balance, call the number 903 doesn’t work, and emergency services 112 are not available, it’s definitely worth contacting the support service for help - the chance of organizing 100% help is not great, but why not take a risk if someone’s lives are at stake?

Before contacting, you should prepare: forget about panic, formulate the problem in advance, give the address and mobile phone number for contact, indicate which service should be called.

What to do if you can't call?

If numbers 903 and 112 are unavailable, or instead of answering you have to listen to the incessant words of an automatic voice assistant that reminds you that the line is overloaded, you should choose an alternative tactic.

  1. The first option is to ask your neighbors for help: let them try calling the universal combination 112 either from a landline home phone (the alternative is 103 or 03), or from a smartphone or tablet. The technique is somewhat risky - if you have recently observed a heavy load on the line, then the chances of aggravating the situation increase.
  2. The second option is to immediately contact Yandex or Google with the request “private ambulance” (you should indicate the city right away - this will narrow the search area). To call specialists from non-governmental clinics, you will need a positive balance on your MOTIV SIM card account, and at the same time a standard set of details, such as what situation has arisen and what help is needed.
  3. The last option is to call the Ministry of Health hotline at the toll-free number 8 800 200 03 89. With this approach, the chances of a positive outcome are close to 100%, but the case must be an emergency. There is no point in calling about scheduled injections or a bruised leg.

Calling doctors by Tele2 subscribers

A foreign cellular company, Tele2, is successfully operating in the market of our country, offering free ambulance calls to its customers. If a person finds himself in an unpleasant health situation, then you need to call:

  • number 030 – when receiving a call, the dispatcher must introduce himself so that there are no misunderstandings, since negligence cannot be allowed in matters of health;
  • number 03 - this phone should work accurately, even if the first combination did not work;
  • number 103 – for any emergency, this number is suitable both in Moscow and throughout the country.

Rules for communicating with an emergency operator

In a critical situation, many lose their composure, some are even afraid of the sight of blood. There is nothing unnatural about this. First, you need to calm down and collect your thoughts, because someone’s life depends on the speed of the decisions you make! It is necessary to clearly and promptly answer questions from service employees, and immediately provide the following information:

  • Full name and contact phone number;
  • Address of the incident or reference point for its determination;
  • Exact or approximate age, gender and number of victims;
  • Describe visible damage, injuries or fractures, and any noticeable symptoms.

Do not hang up as the operator may ask additional questions. Call only if the situation is truly critical.

What to tell the dispatcher

After connecting with the operator of the Unified Dispatch Center by calling 103, which usually occurs within a few seconds, provide the following information:

  1. What happened
  2. Phone number you are calling from
  3. Address where the patient is located. Be sure to tell me the best way to get to the house,
  4. Entrance number, floor, intercom number or combination lock. If a person becomes ill on the street, provide the address of the nearest house and landmarks (near a bus stop, on a playground, etc.)
  5. Last name, first name, patronymic, date of birth of the patient (if known)
  6. Caller's last name

If possible, meet the team and escort them to the victim.

The dispatcher will tell you which team he is sending to you and how long to wait for it.

If the situation does not require doctors to visit you, the dispatcher will switch you to consultant therapists who will give recommendations over the phone.

What happens for a false ambulance call: liability and fines

Jokes with such services are inappropriate. An ambulance call center is very good at locating a caller. We do not recommend trying to prank the dispatcher even from a blocked SIM card - anonymity is unlikely to be maintained, and your actions will result in administrative liability and a fine. This approach allows us to reduce the number of deliberate false calls and direct doctors to where they are really welcome.

In accordance with Article 19.13 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, a knowingly false call to the police, fire department, emergency medical service and other special services is treated as an administrative offense.

The fine for individuals ranges from 1000 to 1500 rubles. It is planned to increase it to 3,000 rubles or impose compulsory work of up to 100 hours. In case of repeated violation, the amount of punishment will increase to 5,000 rubles.

The law on paid ambulances from June 20, 2019 - true or not?

At the moment, there is a discussion of a new law on paid ambulance calls when certain standards are exceeded. It is worth noting that no presidential decrees were signed in 2021 or 2021. The initiative is in the draft stage.

Regardless of the availability or validity of an insurance policy, medical care in Russia is provided free of charge to any victim. If you think that the ambulance will not arrive on time, try to provide first aid yourself. The employee on the phone will always provide maximum assistance and give advice on maintaining the life of the victim until the crew arrives.

Calling an ambulance from the MTS network

You don’t want anyone to get into difficult situations when an ambulance is needed. But if this happens, and medical help or a doctor is urgently needed, then MTS clients have the opportunity to call emergency assistance. You need to dial one before the usual numbers 03, and you get the number 103.

If the call is successful, the ambulance will arrive in 15-20 minutes. If the doctors have not arrived during this time, it is better to call this number again, or find out where the ambulance is currently located.
