Frankly speaking, MTS skimped on the social tariff. In fact, it can only be called beneficial for those pensioners who communicate mainly with MTS subscribers from their region. If you want to call relatives from another part of the country, fork out extra money. Although, it would seem, the decision to give pensioners the opportunity to freely talk on the phone with people across Russia for a small subscription fee suggests itself. There are not so many pensioners; the operator would not become poor. But we have what we have.

It seems to me that the MTS Social tariff is not so profitable as to limit the ability to connect to it. The only obvious advantage is that the package of minutes is not consumed when calling local MTS numbers. And if the beneficiary has all his friends and relatives on MTS, then perhaps the choice is not bad... As for me, if you want to help a pensioner or disabled person, then you can fork out a little and buy, for example, “Smart for yours” or “Smart for yours” » with unlimited Internet (more expensive), where for 200 rubles per month you get 600 minutes to local numbers and MTS Russia numbers, 600 SMS to local numbers and mobile Internet - 10 GB or unlimited, depending on the tariff version. Depending on the version of the tariff and the seller, it can cost from 1000 to 2500 rubles (one-time fee), but in terms of parameters, it seems to me that it is more social.
Tariffs without monthly fee and without Internet
MTS has prepared profitable offers for pensioners without a subscription fee and with traffic turned off. Since older people rarely need such a service, it will be convenient for them to use a tariff such as “Per-Second”, where everything previously listed is absent, and the fee is charged for the number of seconds spoken. You can also pay attention to such offers as “Super MTS” and “Red Energy”. In each case, there is no provision for debiting funds from the subscription fee, and money is spent only for specific services provided to the subscriber.
How to activate the MTS Social tariff?
You can activate the tariff in MTS salons upon presentation of a passport and one of the following documents: pension certificate or disability certificate (certificate of disability). You can connect only one tariff plan per identity, i.e. It will not be possible to arrange such tariffs for all relatives. Although, who would even think of this...
If it turns out that several SIM cards were issued for one document, then the tariff from “MTS Social” will be changed to “My Smart” - for all except the very first number.
If there are problems with determining the subscriber’s social status, for example, information about the details is incorrect, the operator will ask you to provide supporting documents.
Cheap calls and internet
If you still need packages with access to data transfer, then you can consider the line of tariff plans that provide the corresponding services. In this case, you can turn your attention to such a proposal as “Active Pensioner”. In addition, for elderly people, you can consider the “Super 0” tariff option. There is a small charge for each call, but there is a certain amount of traffic built into the package.

Personal opinion
It seems to me that some mobile operators, when creating social tariffs that are intended for pensioners and the disabled, were more concerned about making sure that it didn’t turn out to be too much and too cheap, rather than about covering the needs of subscribers for a minimum fee.
And, let’s face it, pensioners and disabled people are not all the same. For very, very many of them, the packages offered will be very small. And the price tag of 180 rubles is not very low. It would be low, for example, for “Tarifisch” or some other tariff with more or less normal content of the packages.

So, for example, if home Internet on MGTS is offered at a speed of two hundred megabits, then within the social package it does not exceed thirty.
How to disable the tariff
You won’t be able to simply turn off the tariff, but you can always switch to another tariff plan. To do this, in your personal account you should view the list of packages available for connection and select the appropriate one. It is worth considering that there must be enough money in the account to pay the first month's subscription fee.
It may well be that this tariff is suitable for some subscribers who are not classified as socially vulnerable. This will be the best option for those people who use MTS communications with their whole family.
It is not entirely clear why the operator decided to hide this tariff in the archived list. Probably, the company's management decided that there were too many people who wanted to use cheap communications.
