MTS also offers several different services when traveling to Abkhazia. The “Zabugorische” option implies a daily payment of 350 rubles. Internet is also consumed from the package included in the tariff.

Operators of Abkhazia
There are two mobile operators operating in the country, the coverage area of which is almost the same. Aquafon
The Aquafon company, which provides cellular communication services, offers tourists to use the “Sea” tariff. The cost of the service package is 500 rubles. 350 of them are charged for connecting a SIM card, the rest of the money remains in the subscriber’s account.
Calls to Russia using this tariff cost 9 rubles. in a minute. Incoming calls are free. The cost of mobile Internet is from 5.5 to 6.5 rubles. per MB. When connecting to the “Sea” service package, you can either use additional services of the cellular operator or disable them as unnecessary.
A-Mobile
The “Resort” tariff plan, provided by the second mobile operator in Abkhazia, is similar in terms of use to the previous one. Does MTS work in Crimea?
Officially, it doesn’t work, because otherwise it will run into sanctions. Therefore, Crimea has its own operators who act as partners to Russian operators, including MTS.

If a subscriber from Moscow with such a tariff plan goes to the Krasnodar Territory, then calls back to Moscow will be long-distance for him, and calls within Krasnodar will be local (cheaper).
Often the subscriber believes that the abolition of roaming should have led to equalization of the cost of all calls within Russia - but this is not the case. Intercity remains intercity; on many MTS tariffs it is more expensive than local calls. It should be understood that no one intended to cancel the intercity route - this was not part of the plans of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Government of the Russian Federation. Residents of a number of settlements in Abkhazia announced that they would not be able to cast their vote on amendments to the Constitution, since the vote on July 1 would be held at the Russian Embassy in Sukhum. As the Caucasian Knot reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin set the date for a nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution for July 1. Changing the Constitution will not improve the lives of Russians, said activists from the regions of southern Russia interviewed by the Caucasian Knot. Each of the amendments had to be discussed separately and voted for each separately, and the voting results could be easily falsified, they believe. Activists in the regions of the North Caucasus noted the inaccuracy of the wording about federal territories, and representatives of different parties and organizations do not have a common position on boycotting the vote.
The law on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was adopted by both chambers of the Federal Assembly on March 11. On March 14, it was signed by the President of Russia, two days later the Constitutional Court approved the amendments. Gudauta resident Vitaly Dzhergenia
also believes that residents of other regions of Abkhazia were deprived of the opportunity to take part in the vote. “It is the residents of Sukhum who are far from Russian problems, but we live not far from the border, we have connections. Our children live there. I live in Russia for six months, I am Russian and I want to take part in the life of the country. I can’t go to Sukhum. They promised us that transportation would be organized, but this is unrealistic, they won’t be able to transport everyone,” the man noted.

- Make sure that the international roaming service is present on the number (by default it is enabled on each SIM card, but it can be disabled at the client’s request).
- Find out the cost of MTS communication services in Abkhazia.
