Despite the fact that Tele2 subscribers received the news about the transition to roaming-free mode with joy, some skeptics stated: “You will have to pay in any case!”
Not only has no one canceled the subscription fee, but all calls outside the home region will still be regarded by the operator as long-distance calls, which means that the fee for them will remain the same.
Mobile Research group analyst Eldar Murtazin stated this in an interview with the National News Service. He noted that, in fact, roaming has been canceled at the request of the FAS, but calls outside of roaming will still be charged as for long-distance calls. “We just changed the awl for soap,” the expert said.
However, many Tele2 subscribers confirm the words of Eldar Murtazin: fees for long-distance calls have not gone away.
It turns out that the good intentions of the FAS were defeated again: providers do not want to lose money - it’s not for nothing that they delayed so long with the deadline for canceling roaming, as a result of which they never actually canceled it. Ultimately, it is the consumer who suffers.
International roaming
Depending on the country the subscriber wishes to visit, the conditions and cost of services differ. This can be checked on the corresponding page of the site using the search. All you need to do is select the country you are planning to visit and read the description. This is convenient because you do not need to personally call the operator to clarify this information.

When is the offer valid?
As it became known earlier, the Federal Antimonopoly Service has put forward the following requirement to leading Russian cellular operators: to cancel roaming throughout the country.
The cancellation date was postponed several times - not all operators supported this decision. And finally, at the beginning of August 2021, the “big three” operators: Beeline, MTS and Megafon announced that they had begun the procedure for canceling roaming. For Tele2, the cancellation period was extended until August 31.
Tele2 completed all operations to cancel roaming last summer. Since September 1, all its subscribers began to freely use cellular communications and mobile Internet outside of roaming, without fear of excess funds being charged.
The new option was called “Zero Everywhere”; it is available to all cellular subscribers. You can receive calls both in your home region and while outside it. In addition, communication prices have almost halved.
The service is still available today, at least the provider has not yet announced the cancellation of the option. And he’s unlikely to announce it.

To pay less for communications, a subscriber can activate two useful options:
- “Unlimited Internet abroad”;
- "Conversations without borders."
Using one of these options makes international roaming profitable. Unlimited Internet access allows you not to use calls and SMS abroad at all, which in some cases is very convenient.

Unlimited Internet from Tele2 is also available in foreign countries. The connection is free, so the subscriber will not face unexpected expenses when returning to the country.
Peculiarities:
- the option is available in 117 countries in the most popular destinations, even in Antarctica;
- the service can be activated on any of the current (not archived) Tele2 tariffs;
- when using the option, the subscriber receives a discount on the payment for the main tariff plan after the payment is debited;
- management is carried out via USSD commands - *143*71# (enable) and *143*70# (disable), *143*7# (view discount).
The cost of the service is 350 rubles per day, but payment is debited only on the day the user goes online. For the Premium tariff, the option is free.
Conversations without borders
This is a special option that allows you to further reduce the cost of calls in foreign countries. Connection is available for all tariff plans.
Peculiarities:
- does not work only in places with extremely poor communications, for example, Angola, Syria, etc.;
- control is carried out using USSD commands - *143*1# (connect), *143*0# (disconnect), *143# (check option status);
- payment is charged for incoming calls in the amount of 5 rubles per minute, the subscription fee is the same and is debited from the account every day;
- connection - 5 rubles.
The service can be activated and disconnected only manually. The subscription fee will be charged until the user uses the mentioned command.
