Nurfin rating: which mobile operator is the most profitable in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is a rapidly developing country that, like China, has begun to produce its own cheap but high-quality products. Therefore, there are more and more guests in this state. Constant communication with the Motherland is important for everyone, and roaming from Russian operators is a significant blow to the subscriber’s pocket. Therefore, mobile communications in Kazakhstan provide more favorable conditions for tourists, allowing them to save on communication. In total, there are three cellular operators in the country in 3G and 4G formats, and in some places 2G is still visible. These companies completely cover the entire country, and only in the most remote corners there may be problems with communication.

Nurfin rating: which mobile operator is the most profitable in Kazakhstan

Illustrative photo: drobotdean / freepik.com Journalists from the Nurfin editorial office got acquainted with the conditions of the current tariff lines of Kazakh mobile operators. They managed to calculate the cost of the most popular resource - a package of gigabytes.

We calculated the cost of traffic: one gigabyte for the amount of the subscription fee according to the tariffs of mobile operators.

The features of the tariffs were also taken into account: the possibility of exchanging packages with minutes, gigabytes and messages. The exchange rate is standard for all operators: 1 GB = 10 minutes = 50 SMS.

We conducted many similar studies on various topics: the cost of plastic surgery, food prices, banking services, and so on. You can get acquainted with them in the Nurfin Rating section.

This time we got acquainted with the conditions of the cheapest tariffs in the line of the following Kazakh mobile operators: Tele2, Kcell, Activ and Beeline.

Virtual cellular network operators and Altel were not considered: this operator currently does not have a tariff line, you can only create your own tariff. It also has unlimited traffic with a speed limit.

A similar comparison was made in the 2021 ranking. According to the results of the last survey, readers chose the Beeline operator as the winner - 33% of all votes.

In the current ranking, the positions of operators have changed. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the results and at the end vote for the best (in your opinion) mobile operator.

Moreover, you can connect the tablet tariff to your phone, and the telephone tariff to the modem. The divisions by device are conditional, and if you throw out all the inhumane conditions that offer several megabytes per day, as well as special packages with free tariffication of various media content, then you will be left with tariffs that differ from each other in the number of prepaid gigabytes per month of use.

It must be said that Kazakhtelecom still has ADSL Internet access under the Megaline brand, which gives completely inhumane prices, but due to the lack of competition, if there are no other options, you will have to pay monthly

Megaline Turbo Plus 8192 Kbps – 4600 tenge. Megaline Hit – 4096 Kbps – 3830 tenge. Megaline Start – 1024 Kbps – 1930 tenge.

If it’s not clear to anyone, there are 1000 kilobits in one megabit, the maximum speed of Megaline is about 8 Mbit/s.

Conditions for choosing a tariff

“Active KZ” line of offers has a wide price range. When choosing a favorable tariff, the following are taken into account:

  • Coverage area - the presence of a network at the place of residence of the phone owner and his main interlocutors.
  • An operator whose services are used by most people in their immediate circle.
  • The intensity of communication affects the choice of a per-minute or package tariff.
  • Internet usage activity and the price of additional traffic.
  • Distribution of the balance in the tariff package - transition to the next period or reset.
  • Frequency of sending SMS messages.
  • Cost of international calls (if relevant).
