Date: June 2, 2021 | Updated: March 29, 2021 | Author: Moblie-man

The “Signal” tariff is closed for connecting new subscribers; instead, Beeline offered a “For Smart Things” tariff plan that is more adequate in terms of prices and conditions >>>.

Tariff "Signal" from Beeline

Cool! Sucks!

The Beeline operator can rightfully be called, if not the leading, then one of the top three leaders in the cellular communications industry in Russia. And, as is typical for any large cellular company, Beeline offers its subscribers a lot of tariff packages. Some of them belong to the same family, and some are, although not unique, one of a kind. And one of these proposals is “Signal”, which we will pay attention to in our article today.

Smart Home Sensors and Devices

This system includes the following devices and sensors:

  1. Wi-Fi camera 1.3 MP, resolution 1280 x 960 x 30, audio recording, good image quality, illumination with infrared diodes for working in the dark. The camera detects movement and records video to cloud storage or a memory card. Among the negative aspects, we can note the lack of autonomous power supply and wall mounting.
  2. Smoke sensor – located high on the ceiling or wall, covers an area of 20 square meters. If it is triggered, a message is sent to the owner of the apartment.
  3. Water leakage sensor – reacts to water on the floor.
  4. Door and window sensor – reacts to opening or closing.
  5. Motion sensor – adjustable for pets.
  6. Smart lamp - allows you to adjust the brightness of the light when a person enters the room, an expensive device.
  7. Air quality sensor – determines the characteristics of the air.
  8. Smart plug – allows you to control other devices. It can turn on the heating so that the room becomes warm when the owner arrives.
  9. The tracker is an interesting device that has fewer functions compared to other gadgets, but the cost is higher. The only advantage is recording to the cloud.

The sensors are equipped with batteries designed to last a long time. The user has the opportunity to create certain algorithms for the operation of the system, the action of which will depend on the response of the sensors. This system has competitors from China, but in general, the project turned out to be successful. A detailed description of the functions and management of the system can be obtained on the Internet site of the Megafon operator using this link. On this page you can order different system kits and get acquainted with the functions. You can purchase individual devices for the Smart Home in the operator’s online store.

How to connect a tariff

There are several connection methods:

After accepting the application and signing the terms in a communication shop or specialized center, the client must pay a subscription fee to the SIM card account. The received funds will ensure the activation of the tariff.

When choosing a method of contacting via the Internet, the user will need to perform a number of actions:

  • Find an offer in the general list of packages from Beeline;
  • In the found item, click on the “Buy SIM card” button;
  • In the window that appears, enter your phone number;
  • Click on the “Call me back” button.

The service support operator will contact the client and specify the address for delivery of the package offer.

Devices included

Smart home includes many other interesting devices:

  1. ZigBee controller – works using wireless technology with a frequency of 2.4 gigahertz. This technology has many advantages, including low electrical energy consumption of connected sensors and the presence of a special mesh network. The designers of this kit have created the option of transmitting a signal from one device to another. An application for smartphones has also been developed, which makes it possible to add additional sensors to the central device and further configure their operation. Using ZigBee allows you to solve the problem of conflicts between devices running on Wi-Fi. Support for SIM cards provides them with energy independence. In the case of Wi-FI, an attacker only needs to turn off the power, and a simple router will not work. The built-in battery lasts about 4 hours. The work uses a standard protocol, so other manufacturers can configure their sensors for this system.
  2. The Wi FI router supports two operating bands. This device will be useful for you if there is no equipment from the operator. When using a router, you can connect to the center of the Smart Home system wirelessly without using wires. In this system, only the camera works via Wi-Fi. Other sensors operate via ZigBee and are not dependent on Wi-Fi.
  3. The 4G modem is an additional development for when the WAN port does not work or there is no router. When outside the city, the device can be used as a modem, distributing mobile traffic wirelessly.
  4. Alarm clock – large numbers are constantly visible on the dial. Their size allows you to clearly see the time. The built-in alarm clock is an added bonus.
  5. The built-in IP camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels, after connecting the special “Away from Home” function, it acts on various movements and constantly records all events. Using your Personal Account, you can view videos in the archive. In the basic tariff, recording is carried out on a memory card. It is possible to use cloud storage for a fee.
  6. Weather station. By touching the touch display, you can see the weather forecast. At this time, the clock numbers disappear. If you use additional sensors to determine air quality, the display will show the room temperature.
  7. Automation is created at a high level. All gadgets are automated. This significantly increases the comfort and peace of mind for your apartment. A clear and convenient interface makes it possible to set special scenarios and integrate them into the overall system using special programs.

Users' opinions about the tariff

The “Signal” tariff is a convenient offer for those who do not need high Internet speed and large packages of communication minutes. Many subscribers activate this tariff for themselves to solve certain problems, namely, to manage “smart” home devices.

The tariff completely copes with its main task, since its cost per month of use is in the range of 30-90 rubles, and depends on the region. The global network access speed of 128 kilobits per second is quite sufficient for basic functions: connecting via Wi-Fi with other gadgets, viewing emails, reading news, etc.

It is not recommended to use the “Signal” tariff as the main one. This is explained by the fact that its main purpose was to send SMS, remote control of household devices, and calculate GPS coordinates. For favorable conditions for the Internet and voice calls, many other tariff plans that are available in abundance from the Beeline operator are suitable.

Let's do without a smartphone

The standard mode of operation of modern smartwatches (except for children’s watches – this is a separate “song”) is in tandem with a smartphone. But there are gadgets that provide users with maximum independence. And the best of these, according to many, is the LG Watch Sport. With this device on your hand, you certainly won't have to worry about missed calls and messages.

The name LG Watch Sport makes it clear that the smartwatch is equipped with everything necessary for sports and fitness; we won’t even dwell on this in detail. In addition, the stainless steel case hides:

  • GPS;
  • mobile communication with LTE support (SIM slot) included;
  • NFC for wireless payment.

3 buttons make operation easier, one of which is also a wheel for scrolling lists and zooming. The touch screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 2.0, which, together with the housing, provides IP68 water resistance.

Unfortunately, the watch is not without its drawbacks, the main one being a weak battery. With even slightly active use of the gadget, it is physically impossible to last more than one day (not even a day!) without recharging. A typical city dweller doesn’t need this, but lovers of outdoor adventures are better off looking for another smartwatch.

How to connect a Wear OS watch to your smartphone

Having chosen a device, all that remains is to connect it to your smartphone. First of all, you need to install the Wear OS application on your smartphone by downloading it from the Play Store or iTunes, then follow our instructions:

  1. After making sure that your smartwatch is turned on, click on the Wear OS shortcut on your phone.
  2. Click “set up”, then click on the name of the watch you want to connect.
  3. The same code should appear on the smartwatch and smartphone screen. If the codes do not match, reboot your smartwatch and phone, check if Bluetooth is turned on on both devices, and if one of the devices is in airplane mode.
  4. If the code matches, click “connect” and complete the setup following the instructions on the screen.

If everything is done correctly, the word “connected” will appear next to the name of the smartwatch. If this message does not appear or is displayed as “disabled”, restart both devices and repeat the operation.

“Internet for Things” from Tele2

Tele2’s “Internet for Things” tariff is the operator’s first offer, which was developed for children’s watches and other smart devices. It will hit the market in the summer of 2021.

This option can be used exclusively on smart gadgets. If you install a SIM card with “Internet for Things” in a smartphone or tablet, access to communication services will be blocked.

You will not be able to activate this offer on your existing SIM card. But you can transfer your number: to do this, when purchasing the starter kit, reissue your old SIM card.

What's inside and how much does it cost?

The subscription fee is 100 rubles. per month. There are no daily, annual or one-time payments.

For this money you get the following set of services:

  • 300 MB mobile traffic;
  • 30 minutes for subscribers of any operators;
  • 100 SMS messages throughout Russia.

If there is a lack of funds for payment, outgoing services are suspended, and children's smart watches become practically useless.

Packages on the tariff are not saved and expire if they are not spent within the allotted month.

Services beyond packages

When your packages come to an end, you will have to pay 1.95 rubles for every minute of conversation or SMS message within the country. Internet speed is limited to 64 Kbps.

You can purchase additional packages through the Tele2 Exchange.

User reviews

Victor, 37 years old, Moscow

I own a country house. I live in an apartment myself. I purchased a SIM card in order to occasionally view CCTV cameras. Then I connected the heating system, which allows me to turn on the boiler before arrival. As a result, upon arrival we enter a warm house. I pay 90 rubles. per month. I use it as an additional SIM card. Of course, you have to wait a long time for the image to load from the camera. But at least I see something. I didn’t go into much detail about the cost of calls, because I don’t use such a service on this card.

Alexey, 40 years old, St. Petersburg

I was forced to buy a SIM card when it became necessary to move to Lipetsk for 3 months. I took it from an advertisement telling about super-fast Internet without traffic. For WhatsApp and social networks it was just enough for me. I called from another SIM card (work). The card is already prepared for a mini-card reader, so there is no need to cut anything. The advantage of the tariff is that it has 50 minutes and 50 SMS, which allows you to keep in touch if necessary. TP is designed for people who have boilers in their house that turn on via SMS, or meters that give readings through an application. Someday I'll try to install something like this. In the meantime, I don't use the card anymore.

Angelina, 35 years old, Moscow

I bought a SIM card with the “Signal” tariff to receive information about the location of the car. I rent it out - some kind of business. It is very convenient to receive GPS data. I pay pennies – 90 rubles/month. In the future I want to buy a smart watch to which I can connect this SIM card. The Internet, of course, is rather weak. The speed is not enough - you have to wait a long time for pictures and photos to load. But overall, it’s a good offer for people who want to control the security of their home or car.

Analogues of other operators

For an objective assessment, before switching to one or another tariff, it is worth considering offers from all operators. Consider the cost of the services of the big four: MTS, Tele2, Megafon - prices are taken for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

Tariffication

The tariff has a subscription fee - 1 rub. per day, it is easy to calculate that a month will come out to 30-31 rubles. There are no further mandatory fees. All other funds are withdrawn only for services actually used.

So, the Internet will cost 2 rubles. per MB, and the calculation is accurate to the nearest kilobyte and is not rounded up. Accruals occur upon access to the network.

The contract provides for the possibility of calling:

  • free inbox;
  • local outgoing calls – 5 rubles;
  • connections with other regions – 5 rubles;
  • international calls – at standard prices without optimizing options.

The subscriber will be able to send messages at the following rates:

  • within the local network – 2 rubles;
  • in Russia – 2 rubles;
  • for subscribers from the CIS – 5.95 rubles;
  • international destinations – 5.95 rubles;
  • MMS – 6.45 rub.

Just a note: switching to the tariff costs 30 rubles.

Who is this tariff suitable for?

The package offer is designed for users with smart devices. They arrange their home and use such devices to constantly be aware of what is happening. The tariff is suitable for the following equipment and power systems:

  • Heating system of the house;
  • Boiler of any kind, regardless of the fuel used;
  • Counter for calculating consumed energy resources;
  • Signaling;
  • Video cameras and recording devices.

If a person needs to stop the process, find out about the state of the system, or resume the operation, he can send an SMS command or perform control via the Internet. If possible, send GPRS coordinates to carry out the operation.

Beeline tariff for signaling

This plan was developed for use in various equipment. It is suitable for GSM alarm systems, smart homes, and metering devices. The SIM card is installed in the dedicated slot.

But it is only suitable for compatible equipment. That is, the equipment must support data transmission via mobile networks. This fact should be taken into account when selecting equipment.

Who is Signal suitable for?

  • You need to put the card in the home alarm system to receive data about the current status and triggering.
  • For remote metering devices to quickly take readings.
  • The plan is in demand among car enthusiasts. You can not only receive information about the current status, but also the location.
  • It is adapted for smartwatch owners.
  • Other subscribers who use different equipment.

Smart watch Android – Wear OS

Devices that can be classified as smartwatches appeared, perhaps, even earlier than smartphones, but their mass production occurred at the beginning of the second decade of this century. It was then that smartwatches “learned” to synchronize with smartphones, which made them especially popular. And almost immediately the question arose of creating a unified operating system designed specifically for wearable gadgets and facilitating their synchronization.

The information mega-giant Google got down to business, announcing the creation of a new OS in 2014. Samsung, Motorola, Asus, HTC and LG immediately joined the project. This concentration of forces could not help but have an impact, and literally a couple of months later the first prototypes of smartwatches for the new operating system were released - Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch.

This is interesting! It seems like a given now, but at the time it was a breakthrough that Android Wear was compatible with watches with both a rectangular and a round display.

In 2015, the developers announced the release of a special Android Wear application for the iOS operating system. Using this application, it is possible to synchronize Android smartwatches with iPhone smartphones.

In March 2021, the operating system received its current name - Wear OS.

Advantages and disadvantages of the tariff

The positive qualities of the tariff plan include:

  • The ability to control and monitor home and other equipment from anywhere;
  • The ability to use the offer as an additional source of control (customers can purchase 2 SIM cards - one will be needed for calls, the other will be a home assistant);
  • Small subscription fee;
  • Profitable Internet for those who use it only for necessary purposes;
  • The cost of SMS is lower than other tariffs of the provider.

But there are also weaknesses in the “Signal” package:

  • Call tariffs are overpriced;
  • If you use the tariff abroad, you will have to spend more;
  • The conditions do not apply to all territories;
  • Low Internet speed if you want to use it for other purposes.

The offer was developed taking into account the needs of residents of megacities who use modern devices in everyday life to make life easier. When using the package to perform certain tasks, the user will spend a lot of money. The tariff also allows you to keep in touch and use the Internet for basic requests.

Do you need "Signal"

Before choosing this tariff, it is advisable to think carefully and analyze its positive and negative aspects. Its conditions will be the best option for you if:

  • you have many devices with a wireless connection or control function over a cellular network;
  • you need conditions with the smallest package of minutes, MMS and SMS;
  • It will not be a burden for you to charge a daily subscription fee, as well as pay for some services;
  • you are satisfied with the network traffic speed of up to 128 kilobits per second (some subscribers try to advise how to remove the speed limit, but the terms of the tariff do not change).

The existing negative aspects of this tariff may push you to choose other conditions, and buy this one only as an additional one:

  • a small range of connected services (calls - no more than 50 minutes, the ability to send SMS) included;
  • calls even on the Beeline network are paid;
  • roaming abroad is expensive;
  • does not operate in all localities (a complete list of regions where it operates is available on the Beeline website);
  • low traffic speed.

Beeline "Signal" tariff: detailed description

Knowing what this tariff plan from Beeline is intended for, you can move on to a description of its characteristics, which is quite simple and concise. This is explained by the fact that the package applied to smart devices does not require a large number of services. The main thing is to provide the opportunity to communicate with the outside world.

That is, 30/31 rubles per month, which is a completely affordable offer, considering that most owners of smart devices have little desire to spend additional money on communications, in addition to paying for the main phone number.

For such a small fee, the package offers the following services with the following pricing conditions:

  • Internet traffic usage: 2 rubles for each megabyte of data consumed/transferred;
  • Free incoming calls;
  • Any outgoing calls within the country: 5 rubles;
  • Sending messages within Russia: 2 rubles;
  • Messages abroad: 5.95 rubles;
  • Sending MMS: 6.45 rub.

What is the “Signal” tariff from Beeline intended for?

As you know, the Internet of things and the addition of “smart” or “smart” prefixes to ordinary devices is a completely common story in the 21st century. Every day the most unexpected things become “smart”. At first it was watches, then fitness bracelets, and then sockets, kettles, light bulbs, and even entire houses.

All this, of course, brings technology and innovation into our lives. But there is one “but” - without communication with the outside world, such devices cannot work. And this is where the need arises to install SIM cards in GPS devices, alarms, video surveillance systems, heating boilers, etc. And these SIM cards must have an appropriate tariff, which will allow the device to communicate with the outside world and send alerts about its operation and status. And the “Signal” tariff from Beeline is the same package.

Signal connection

To become the owner of such a very unusual, but necessary tariff from Beeline, you need to purchase a SIM card with a starter package of services. In the communication salon of the “bee” operator it will cost only 30 rubles. After activation, the tariff begins to work.

That is, you cannot reconnect your current tariff to the “signaling” one. The new SIM card must be inserted into the smart device slot. After activating the SIM card, you need to make sure that it has a positive balance, and then synchronize it with your main smartphone or tablet, where all the information from smart devices will be received.

You can purchase a new package without leaving your room: just go to the operator’s website, select “Buy a SIM card in one click.” This will be followed by a call from the manager to clarify the details and terms of delivery of the card.

Difficulties may arise during the setup process. You can resolve issues by calling the single Beeline reference number - or by dialing 8-800-700-06-11. Or get the necessary advice on the website from the support service.

Connection

Are you interested in the Beeline Signal tariff, but don’t know how to activate the offer? Many users who actively use smart services ask this question. We'll talk about how to activate the Beeline Signal tariff below.

Important! This operator offer was introduced in 2014; at this time, the option is closed for connection.

To connect to the Signal tariff, it was enough to contact the company’s service center or post office. It is available for individuals and legal entities. If you do not have a SIM card, you will need to buy one, since any tariff option is available only for new subscribers.

It is impossible to connect it by command or call, since the service has its own characteristics.

Next, you can look at the tariffs without the Internet if you do not need traffic on your smartphone.

Disabling tariff

If you no longer want to use the Signal service, you can disable it. You can use it in any way:

  1. Block a SIM card with a valid “Signal”.
  2. Call the Beeline operator at 0611 or 8-800-700-06-11 and ask to deactivate the service.
  3. Switch to another package of mobile operator options through your Personal Account or application on your smartphone.

The Signal tariff does not apply to all regions of Russia. Before connecting, all the details of the service must be clarified with the operator. In some areas where the option package is available, the cost of the subscription fee or incoming/outgoing calls may vary.

The tariff cannot be called profitable. But, first of all, it was created for a purpose other than communication - for remote control of intelligent technology.
