How to find out Tele2 number by mobile operator code

Determining which company a particular subscriber belongs to, possibly by telephone. Lately, this method has lost some relevance. Changing the operator while keeping the number is now a little confusing. But so far there are few people who have decided to use this service.

In most cases, codes help to correctly identify the operator. Tele2 numbers in Russia begin with the numbers 900, 902, 904, 908, 950 – 953. However, in regions where the company is not yet widespread, the codes are given to regional or less widespread companies (for example, Skylink, Smarts, NSS, etc.)

Tele2 codes broken down by region

The company has 15 combinations assigned to it. Each of them is intended for several regions. Some codes are universal and distributed throughout the country. So, what numbers do Tele2 numbers start with:

In most cases, the Tele2 operator code will not allow you to determine the exact region. But we can talk with relative confidence about being assigned to one or another company.

Phone codes in the Russian network of the operator Tele2

Mobile communications provider Tele2 is gaining increasing popularity. In order to know which region they are calling from and not overpay for the tariff to other operators, you need to know the Tele2 codes in Russia by region.

  • For your information
  • Russian phone addresses begin with +7 or +8.

To avoid problems with the same number order among different communication providers, each network is allocated a certain range of numbers specific to each different wireless communication service. Consumers of cellular communication services should be aware that today not all areas of the Russian communication coverage map are served by the Tele2 operator. Unserved areas include:

  • North Caucasus Federal District;
  • Crimean Federal District;
  • Saha Republic;
  • Khabarovsk region;
  • Amur region;
  • Republic of Kalmykia;
  • Astrakhan region;
  • Volgograd region.

It is impossible to reach these territories by calling from this platform. There are no radio signal towers in these areas, which means it is impossible to service this mobile operator.

Find out the operator by phone number

By entering a mobile number on specialized websites, any person can clarify which operator it belongs to. For example, the check is carried out on the official website of the Central Research Institute of Communications https://zniis.ru/bdpn/check. There are other resources, but their accuracy, of course, cannot be guaranteed.

The code in a mobile phone is an opportunity to navigate the variety of companies offering communication services. And although most combinations are assumed for several regions of the country at once, this allows us to guess where the call was made from. Recent changes have made verification more difficult, but using Internet resources you can determine your mobile operator in a couple of seconds.

List of codes

Let's look at which Tele2 numbers begin with the numbers 90 and 95. Below are the values with which the telephone identification of this wireless provider begins:

  • 900;
  • 902;
  • 904;
  • 908;
  • 950;
  • 951;
  • 952;
  • 953

Despite the sequence of the first numbers of the telephone number of mobile operator subscribers, there is a large gap of 40 points in the second and third numbers. This is due to closed contact numbering plans.

  • Important
  • This system was introduced to ensure that all the world's mobile service providers do not agree with each other on the identity of the numbers of different phones.

Residents of another could not reach the telephone number, for example 900 000 00 00 in one country, so they came up with the +7 scheme and the like. But also using a phone without the first digits with a “+” sign, subscribers called the same person.

What does the encoding consist of?

The Tele2 index, that is, the three digits at the beginning of the number, is called the DEF code, which contains important information about the operator. This is a kind of identifier. To make the encoding correct, add “+7” or “8”. This symbol is responsible for intercity access or identification of an international call. “8” is used only when you are in the networks of Russian operators, but abroad you can only get through via “+7”. That is why it is recommended to immediately write down contacts through the seven. Further numbers are the personal value of the subscriber.

The Tele2 operator code was created in order to identify with 100% accuracy which company the telephone encryption belongs to.

Useful ussd commands will help you manage not only your account, but also how to connect and disconnect new services.

Mobile operators of Russia

There are more than a hundred companies providing cellular communication services in Russia. However, three cellular operators stand out from all of them - MTS (Mobile TeleSystems), Beeline (Vympel Communications), Megafon. They have the largest number of subscribers and operate in all regions of the country; in some regions they provide coverage by renting a network of local operators. They are one of the oldest operators and, in fact, have no competition. They are also called the "Big Three". In recent years, the concept of the “Big Four”, which includes Tele2, has become more frequently used.

Other cellular companies have a much smaller customer base and coverage area in the Russian Federation. Among them are the famous Smarts, Rostelecom, Yota. The latter was previously known as an Internet provider with a 4G network in Moscow, but since 2014 it has been actively advertised as a new cellular player. In October 2013, MegaFon completely acquired Scartel/Yota, which holds 4G/LTE licenses. Since September 2021, Yaroslavl-GSM JSC has been merged with MegaFon PJSC (source).

At the end of 2021, a new mobile operator, Tinkoff Mobile, was added. The operator was created in partnership with Tele2: it works as a virtual operator and uses the technical equipment of Tele2. The operator is related to Tinkoff Bank and is actively advertised by it.

We list all mobile operators in alphabetical order, indicating the codes and the number of telephone numbers allocated to the operator. The allocated numbers constitute the number of numbers that the operator can use. It does not mean the actual number of subscribers of the company.

In Crimea, cellular communication services were provided by Ukrainian operators, whose mobile numbers corresponded to the Ukrainian numbering system (+380 ХХХ ХХХ ХХ ХХ). After the annexation of Crimea to Russia, there were no technical capabilities to quickly switch to Russian operators and switch to the +79xx number format. Organizational and legal issues also arose. The transition process took a long time, new codes were allocated. Until now, in the Crimea, a number of services of cellular operators are provided with restrictions.

In the early to mid-2000s, there was an active attraction of new numbers due to the rapid emergence of new subscribers. Operators' ranges were expanded and new codes and series of codes were issued. Now there is an increase in the number of registered numbers among subscribers due to the use of SIM cards in various devices - phones, smartphones, tablets, routers. Up to 3-5 registered numbers per subscriber is the norm. Thus, the trend of increasing the number of numbers remains, so new numbers and codes are used.

Why do the codes sometimes not match?

It happens that a Tele2 client calls a person, although the combination from MTS is used as the code and vice versa. In addition, a subscriber living in a certain region does not always have a code assigned to his region on his phone. Why do such situations arise?

The fact is that when connecting to the operator’s services, the subscriber can save his number. Because of this, a client who switches from Tele2 to Beeline and vice versa remains with the same beginning as before. In such situations, it is impossible to determine which company a particular phone belongs to.

When the initial combination does not match the region, the answer is hidden in the place where the person bought the SIM card. You can purchase a SIM card in any region of the Russian Federation and use it anywhere. Thus, a resident of the Arkhangelsk region gets telephone coordinates assigned to the Khabarovsk Territory. There are quite a lot of such situations. Therefore, knowing the numerical value for a specific region does not always help determine whether a subscriber belongs to a specific subject of Russia.

How to find out the owner of a number?

To find out the formal owner, just use the My Tele2 self-service system. It is available at the link my.tele2.ru. You can get a temporary password after entering the number without the 8. The password sent to the phone is used to access the Personal Account.

The full name of the Tele2 number holder will be displayed on the main page of the service. Detailed information can be obtained from the “Edit profile” link. This page allows you to find out the full address of the card holder, which will allow you to establish contact in case of lost contacts.

After clarifying the formalities, the developers recommend contacting the card owner to re-register the number to a new user. To do this, you need to contact any Tele2 communication salon with identification documents.

Manage options and subscriptions

You can manage your tariff and subscriptions with the tele2 operator using useful phones:

  1. When purchasing a new SIM card, you need to activate it; to do this, dial 610.
  2. To find out information about tele2 tariff plans, and also, if necessary, change the tariff, use number 630. The service allows you to seamlessly switch to other tariff plans.
  3. Receiving settings for accessing the network and sending mms messages is done by dialing 679. By calling, you can easily get automatic settings for these services.
  4. For detailed information about roaming in tele2, dial 688. You can find out discounts, tariffs for different countries and regions, as well as connection methods.
  5. If your phone is lost or stolen or your SIM card is damaged, you can find out how to renew or replace it by calling 638.
  6. To use the menu with additional options from Tele2, you can use the phone 655.
  7. If you are connected from tele2, you can find out payment information and other data by calling 668.
  8. To use the Internet on your device and obtain detailed data on tariffs and connections, you should call 6661 and 662.
  9. Details on the “Black List” option can be found by dialing 678.
  10. To use voicemail, you can call 600. Connection is free, only the call is paid.

Why are different numbers needed?

Tele2 codes perform a special function and carry certain data. Their number shows how many clients a given provider has and how many federal subjects it extends its network to.

By the first numbers you can determine which region the representative is trying to contact you. For example, if they do not coincide with those inherent in your place of residence, it is better not to pick up the phone from an unfamiliar phone . It is quite possible that roaming will be activated and you will be charged a significant amount.

But business representatives, on the contrary, have the opportunity to regulate their contacts, focusing on regions. For example, enable forwarding for calls from certain entities to the appropriate specialists.

General information about the operator

However, before that we would like to tell you about the history of the emergence of Tele2 on the territory of the Russian Federation. So, this is a huge Swedish concern that sold its Russian branch to VTB. After some time, Rostelecom and Tele2 merged, creating powerful competition in the mobile technology market for such giants as MTS, MegaFon, Beeline.

After some time, the coverage range already occupied 60 regions, and in 2015 Moscow was added to the coverage area.
