Sberbank is constantly improving its customer service, making account management as comfortable and fast as possible. So, now bank clients can transfer money by phone number. Sberbank allows you to perform this operation within a few minutes, so if one of your family or friends urgently needs to transfer money, it will not be difficult. This procedure also simplifies because for transferring it is enough to remember the phone number, and not long and complex details that often have to be written down. However, you need to take into account that in this way money can only be transferred to the card of another Sberbank client who also uses mobile banking.
Moreover, if several card accounts are linked to the phone number to which you are transferring funds, the system will automatically select one of them that seems optimal for crediting funds. First of all, this will include salary cards and accounts opened in Russian rubles. The situation is the same with the sending number - if several accounts are linked to it, the bank will choose the optimal one based on the same criteria.

Cost of the service and restrictions on transactions using the 900 number
When you pay for your own phone number, no commission is charged, and no money is withdrawn when you top up another subscriber’s number. In this case, it makes no difference how the payment was made - via SMS or through a short USSD command; in both cases, additional money is not deducted from the payer’s account.
A commission may be present for the tariff used, where it exists, but if the user has connected a mobile bank with a standard tariff, then there will be no commission - it is not provided here.
But you will have to pay for sending the SMS messages themselves, and the cost will vary slightly depending on the current operator. For example, Tele2 and Megafon subscribers will be charged 3 rubles for each message. Beeline is a little cheaper - 2.5 rubles per message. The cheapest operator is MTS - the cost of its service is two rubles per message. It is worth considering that if a person is roaming, this function will not be available.
If a person is not connected to a mobile bank, then there will be restrictions on transfers for him, namely: he can transfer no more than one and a half thousand (this is the minimum transfer amount) and no more than ten per subscriber per day. It is worth considering that 1,500 rubles is the sum of transfers from all of a person’s bank cards. The minimum payment that can be sent to a specific number is 50 rubles.
Transfer through Svyaznoy stores - Euroset
Since December 2021, the united company Svyaznoy - Euroset has connected to Sberbank’s instant money transfer system. The bank is interested in such a partner, since after the merger of retail companies, their network of stores has become even more extensive. The company owns 5.5 thousand stores located in 1,300 Russian cities.
The service for transferring money to cards has become available in every Euroset store. To carry out a transaction, it is enough to indicate the recipient’s card or phone number and deposit money through the cash register (minimum - 100 rubles, maximum - 100 thousand rubles). There are no restrictions on the number of transactions.
Why will this service be of interest to customers? Typically, when sending money using mobile applications, additional fees may be charged, but this is not provided for with the new service.

Send SMS to number 900
The first way to top up your balance is to send an SMS message to number 900. In this way, you can top up both your own and someone else’s phone number.
Top up someone else's number after 900
To be able to top up the balance of another person, the subscriber must be registered in the Sberbank Mobile Bank application, but the recipient of the money does not have to be in the mobile banking system. To top up the balance of another person’s number, you must:
- Go to “new message”, enter number 900 in the recipient column;
- In the message text field, enter the following data: TEL xxxxxxxxxxx 100 (where x..x is the phone number starting with 9, and 100 is the amount to be transferred), while “TEL”, phone number and “8100” are indicated through one space;
- Confirm sending the message.
Funds will be automatically withdrawn from the payment card listed in the subscriber's mobile bank. If he has more than one card connected there, then in the message after the specified credit amount, putting a space, you need to write the last four digits of the number of the desired card. Then the money will be withdrawn from her.
In this case, the word “TEL” is a command, and instead of it you can specify others - PAYMENT, PAYMENT, PAYMENT, REPLACEMENT. All words must be written in capital letters; writing in Latin letters is allowed (TEL, OPLATA, etc.).
If, if there are several cards, the subscriber does not indicate which one he has chosen, then the money will be automatically debited from the account where there will be enough funds to complete the given command.
Top up your phone number
Topping up your own phone number is even faster and easier. To do this you need to perform the same steps with a slight difference. In the text field for the message, you only need to enter the number 900 and the desired amount to top up, separated by a space. There is no need to enter your phone number. After sending the message, the money will be debited from the card and the balance will be replenished. This method is one of the easiest and fastest ways to top up your account without the Internet and using bank cards.
If the sender or recipient has several cards
As a standard, a Sberbank card is issued for only one phone number; it is not possible to link a second one to it. This was done specifically to avoid confusion when crediting funds to other clients.
However, in practice, there are exceptions and the same phone number turns out to be linked to different cards, and then the transfer of money to the recipient is made to any of his cards randomly.
The sender can transfer from a card from another bank, but in most cases a commission will be charged for this (usually no more than 1.5-5% of the total amount). The exact amount of the commission must be clarified with the operators of a particular bank.
We use the USSD command
The second way to charge payments is to use a simple USSD command. In general, the principle is similar to replenishing the balance via a message to number 900. In order to withdraw the required amount from the card, you should go to calls and dial the USSD command: *900*ххххххххх*100#, where 900 is a short bank number, ххххххххх is subscriber number indicated without country code, 100 – desired top-up amount. Next, press the call button. After this, the person will receive a message from number 900 with a five-digit code, which will need to be sent back to the same number. After all actions have been completed, payment will be made. The restrictions are still the same - the minimum payment is 50 rubles, the maximum is one and a half thousand per day. You can transfer funds no more than ten times a day.
Also, anyone has the opportunity to create a template based on the data, which can be used to send money even faster. Creating a template will help protect against fraudsters in the event of theft/loss of a telephone device, because in the mobile bank you can enable a setting that will prohibit replenishment of accounts that are not included in the list of templates.
After sending funds, it is recommended to check the success of the operation. You can do this in several ways:
- The easiest way is to go to the Sberbank mobile application and check the history of bank card transactions, where, if the account is successfully replenished, a debit will be displayed;
- Go to the nearest Sberbank branch and ask an employee about the transaction;
- Call the hotline and make a request to transfer funds;
- In case of replenishing your own account, it is enough to check the balance by waiting a few minutes.
What to do before transferring money
With the help of a mobile phone, every person has the opportunity to perform some very simple financial transactions. Each cellular network operator allows its customers to have the opportunity to use such necessary services under specific conditions. It is these conditions that need to be carefully studied so that no additional difficulties arise during the translation.
Before transferring money to a phone number, a client of a specific mobile operator needs to find out the following information:
- how much money is in the account at the moment;
- what is the minimum and maximum amount of transfer to a mobile phone or bank card;
- what commission for the service provided is charged according to the conditions established by a specific mobile operator;
- is it necessary to additionally confirm the financial transaction;
- how long will the transaction take and in what form can you receive confirmation of replenishment of other accounts and plastic cards;
- what limit is set on the number of transactions per day, or per week, month.
After clarifying the points presented above, the potential sender of money must enter the details of the person who should receive the payment and the amount of the financial transaction. Some cellular network operators always set a specific limit on how much money should remain in the sender's account after such a transaction.
Setting up auto payment
Autopayment allows you to automatically pay any Sberbank account, without the need for the direct participation of the bank client. Its essence is that payment is made at the appointed time according to a template from a fixed amount. This way you can pay for anything: telephone calls, traffic police fines, loans, etc., and payments are provided for any cards - both debit and credit.
You can activate the service in several ways:
- In the Sber mobile banking application;
- In Sberbank online;
- Through self-service terminals.
The service is very easy to activate using Sberbank Online. To activate the function, a bank client must go to his personal Sber account, go to the “my payments” item, and then click on the “connect” button. From the list of services provided, you need to select those you are interested in, and then set up basic payment parameters. An instruction will appear on the screen, following which the client will activate automatic payment. The process of activating the function takes from several minutes to a day (the latter happens extremely rarely).
In addition, the service is provided absolutely free; there are no fees for transferring funds. With the help of Internet banking, the client will be able to easily manage his auto payments, and will not have to worry about writing off excess funds - all services are reversible, that is, any of them can be easily canceled, and the money written off will be returned to the account.
Automatic payment for cellular communications works according to the following principle: when the balance reaches a certain amount, the bank will automatically replenish the account by debiting the specified amount of money from the bank card account. The service is also free, there are no commissions. The service is configured either in your Sber.Online personal account, or via SMS - you need to send the message “Auto XXX” to number 900, where XXX is the amount to top up your account. You can also activate the service at bank terminals or branches.
You can disable Sberbank autopayment in several ways:
- In Sberbank Online, in your personal account, go to the auto payments page and turn off all active payments;
- Via SMS. It is enough to send an SMS with the word “AUTO PAYMENT” (without quotes!) to number 900, and then act according to the instructions in the response message;
- Call the Sber contact center at 8-800-555-55-50 and inform the operator of your intention. The operator (or answering machine) will issue appropriate instructions. The call within the Russian Federation is free.
- At the nearest Sberbank branch. You only need your passport with you.
Connecting mobile banking
To connect to a mobile bank, there is one condition - the client must have at least one Sberbank card. The service can be connected in several ways:
- At any Sber ATM, you must have a card with a PIN code known to the person.
- At any bank branch, you will need your passport with you.
- In Sberbank Online, if you have a registered account there.
- When you call the hotline, you need to remember your code word.
Connection via ATM
- You need to go to the nearest Sber ATM (if you don’t know where it is, you can go to the official website and select the nearest terminal in the “ATMs” section). Be sure to take your bank card with you.
- At the ATM, select “Connect Sberbank Online and Mobile Bank” from all the options.
- Select Mobile Banking from two options.
- Next, the ATM will offer two packages - economical and full. The full package is different in that the subscriber can receive SMS notifications about debiting funds, and it will cost 30-60 rubles per month. The economical package is completely free, but there is no SMS alert service.
- To complete the connection procedure, you need to enter the card PIN code for confirmation. After this, a notification indicating the success of the operation will appear on the screen.
At a bank branch
When you apply for a new card, you can immediately connect your mobile bank. The employee will either offer it himself or you need to ask him. Then the person will be explained what tariffs exist, from which he can choose the appropriate one. The finished card will be issued with a connected mobile bank. If you have a card, but the mobile bank is not connected, you can go to a Sberbank branch along with your passport and inform the employee of your intention.
By hotline number
The method will only work if the phone number to which the service is connected matches the number associated with the card. The responding employee must provide the date of birth, full name and code word. After this, the employee activates the service for the subscriber.
Via Sber.Online
In Sberbank Online, you need to go to the settings, select the “notifications” item, find the card you need and connect the mobile banking option.
Limits and commission
Transactions using a phone number are associated with certain risks, so banks set restrictions. For example, in Sberbank the limits are as follows:
- within 24 hours you can send no more than 8 thousand rubles to the number;
- per day you can accept no more than 8 thousand rubles per number;
- no more than 10 payment transactions within 24 hours.
If the limits have been exceeded, the bank will refuse the user to complete the transaction. As for commissions, most banks do not charge interest for transfers within one region.
Banking conditions are constantly changing, so we recommend checking current limits and fees with your bank. In addition, conditions may vary significantly between organizations.
If you sent money to the wrong number
If a person made a mistake when writing the number and the money went to the wrong account, the first thing you need to do is check whether the money was debited from the account. If this is the case, then you can contact the recipient with a request to return the money, perhaps he will cooperate. You can obtain a copy of the payment transfer by contacting a bank branch and provide it to the person as evidence.
Once the transfer has already been made, it will not be possible to cancel it - the bank is prohibited from withdrawing money from the client’s account without his consent.
