“Internet for Things” from Tele2 - description of how to use

Every year the Internet becomes more and more integral to the life of an ordinary person. No one can be surprised by the ability to access the Internet from a watch; Alarm systems and many other devices are connected to the Internet. As a rule, they do not need a lot of traffic - we are talking about transmitting a minimum amount of information. The Internet for Things tariff was created specifically for such purposes.

Its distinctive feature: it is a low price with a small but sufficient traffic package, as well as 30 minutes of calls per month. After the package expires, Internet access will not be disabled, but the speed will simply drop. It is also important that the tariff does not have any additional paid services connected by default, as, for example, on the Classic. In a word - a great offer!

Tariff description

The tariff for smart things includes the optimal amount of traffic, minutes and SMS messages that are necessary for the functioning of smart devices. Smart light bulbs, plugs, alarms and clocks can only function if connected to the internet. The tariff plan is also suitable for children's watches. It is for such smart devices that a new tariff from Tele2 was developed. For just 100 rubles per month, subscribers have access to:

  • Internet traffic – 300 MB at high speed. If the limit is exceeded, the speed is limited to 64 Kbps;
  • 30 minutes to any numbers of Russian operators. All incoming calls are free, outgoing bills are consumed from the package. When traffic is exhausted, the cost of calls is 1.95 rubles/min;
  • 100 messages to all numbers of Russian operators. After the limit is exhausted, the cost of one message is 1.95 rubles/min.
  • Calls to numbers of operators in other countries – 30 rubles/min to CIS countries and neighboring countries, calls to Europe – 49 rubles/min, to other countries – 69 rubles/min. Satellite communication services will cost 399 rubles per minute.

The subscription fee is charged immediately upon activation of the package, then exactly one month after the first debit of funds from the account, but provided that there is enough money on the balance. Once the package is exhausted, the Internet is turned off and there is no renewal. On the one hand, there is protection against write-offs, on the other hand, it limits the range of devices for which this tariff is suitable.

If there is not enough money in the account at the time the monthly subscription fee is charged, then Internet access is suspended and the basic conditions of the tariff plan apply.

The package is not valid in Crimea; the tariff is 3 rubles per megabyte.

Disadvantages of the Internet for Things tariff plan

Upon closer examination of the “Internet for Things” tariff, minor shortcomings were found:

  • The “Share gigabytes” service is not available;
  • Any remaining unused traffic will not be carried over to the next month.

In general, the tariff is very good, especially for those whose children use smart watches. After all, to exchange information with the watch you need Internet access. And the call package included in the tariff plan will allow the child to always be in touch and, if necessary, press the SOS button. And such peace of mind for parents costs only 100 rubles a month.

How to connect

It is not possible to switch from another tariff plan to the Internet for Things package. This package is not displayed in your personal account as available for transfer. Connection is only possible when purchasing a new starter package. But when purchasing a starter package, you can leave your previous number, that is, purchase a new SIM card, but with your own number. You can purchase it at your nearest company store or order it on the Tele2 operator’s website.

Subscribers of other operators can also switch to this tariff; to do this, fill out an application at the nearest office. Both pick-up of the starter package and delivery by courier are available. Switching from the Internet for Things to other tariffs is not prohibited.

Annual contract

This option will allow you to get a good discount when paying for the tariff for a year at once. It costs 790 rubles. It’s easy to calculate that without the service you would spend 1,200 rubles in a year. Of course, you need to be sure that you will need the tariff all year - otherwise the benefits may be lost. But if you regularly use a SIM card - say, it’s in your smart watch, and all the conditions of the tariff suit you - then connecting the service makes sense.

You can activate the service in your Tele2 subscriber’s personal account or when the owner of the SIM card personally visits a service salon with a passport.

Additional functions

The new tariff plan also includes a number of additional free ones - favorable conditions for communication services are provided when traveling around the country;

  • “International and long-distance access”;
  • "Roaming abroad";
  • “Call forwarding” - if necessary, you can forward all incoming calls;
  • “Call Waiting/Hold”;
  • “SMS” and “USSD” - requests are free even if you are in roaming;
  • “Services based on packet data transmission”;
  • "Informer";
  • "Caller ID."
  • The advantage of the tariff is that traffic per session is rounded to the nearest 1 kilobyte.

    If the subscriber does not perform any actions for 120 days that would entail debiting money from the account, then a daily subscription fee of 3 rubles, including VAT, begins to be charged from the personal account. The subscription fee will stop charging the next day. after money is credited to the account or when the balance is zero.

    If the subscriber has no money in his account for six months, then the contract is considered terminated at the initiative of the subscriber.

    “Internet for Things” Tele2: detailed description

    Tele2’s new “Internet for Things” tariff is suitable for users of various fitness bracelets, trackers and other gadgets that make life easier. During operation, mini gadgets consume a small amount of traffic. The terms and conditions provide 300 megabytes of free use. You need to use them within a month. The remainder will not be transferred. The big advantage of the package is traffic rounding up. Moreover, if the megabytes have run out, the subscriber can still access the device. After the end, the Internet speed is reduced to 64 kbit per second.

    The subscription fee includes

    The connection cost is free. The operator charges a fee of 100 rubles per month. This price includes Internet megabytes, calls and messages. A smartwatch with Internet enabled can completely replace a smartphone. The subscriber will not miss an important call or email, even if the phone is in the bag. The gadget's notification system will provide a signal about an incoming call. However, this requires a connection between the smartphone and the device.

    Internet

    The description of the tariff plan indicates its main functions. The package provides uninterrupted access to your smart device. For 100 rubles a month you get 300 mg. At first glance it may not seem like much. However, this will be enough for smart gadgets. When traveling within the Russian Federation, the conditions partially remain the same.

    Calls

    The tariff includes free calls of 30 minutes to any region of Russia. Incoming calls are accepted free of charge. If the available minutes have run out, the next calls will cost a fixed amount of RUB 1.95 per minute.

    Messages

    “Internet for Things” is an ideal offer for those who like to communicate via messenger. After activating the service, the client receives 100 SMS within Russia. Now you don’t need to limit yourself; you can easily correspond with subscribers of another operator. From 101 SMS sent - 1.95 rubles each.

    Other prices

    In the home region, the call amount is approximately 1.95 rubles per 1 minute of conversation. If you need to make a call abroad, then different prices apply;

    • CIS countries - 30 rubles per minute, regardless of the tariff;
    • Europe will cost 49 rubles;
    • other countries approximately 70 per 1 minute of conversation;
    • Satellite communication is the most expensive and amounts to 400 rubles. in a minute.

    At the end of the package

    After the end of the package, pay a separate amount for sent SMS. The price depends on the region of departure. You can correspond within Russia for 1.95. If you need to send a message to another country then pay approximately 5.50 per SMS.

    Additional Information

    Tele2 takes care of every client. New pricing plans are introduced monthly to make it easier to use different devices. Almost all packages have extensive functionality. You can read about it further.

    Services included in the tariff plan

    To make the most of the package, you need to know the detailed information about the services. This option includes:

    • “International and long-distance access”;
    • "Roaming abroad";
    • "Trips around Russia";
    • “Call Waiting/Call Hold.”

    Rules for charging subscription fees and provision of services

    Upon first activation, the amount of 100 rubles is debited from the client’s account. After 30 days, the payment for services for the next month occurs again. If at the time of payment there is a negative balance on the account, the tariff is suspended. However, there is no need to worry. You will not need to re-activate. You just need to top up your account and enjoy the full range of functions again.

    Mobile Internet

    The package does not imply use on tablets or phones. This amount of Internet will not be enough for a long period. On the contrary, for owners of smart devices it will come in handy.

    On trips around Russia

    When traveling outside the home region, then other tariffs are included. The information is relevant for Astrakhan, Dagestan, Bashkortostan, Ingushetia and other regions. The full list can be seen on the Tele2 website. If you stay in these territories for more than 30 days, you will need to pay an additional 100 rubles.

    If you don't use a SIM card

    After activating the SIM, the subscriber has used the services for more than 180 days, then the operator terminates the contract. The main reason is that the client does not need the tariff plan to work.

    Other conditions

    When crossing the state border, all existing tariffs are suspended. You can use the Internet while roaming.

    Shutdown

    Everything happens as with most other tariffs. You can switch to a different tariff plan in your personal account, you can block the SIM card with the number associated with it, or contact the support service by dialing 611. It makes sense to go to the telephone operator’s office to disconnect it only if you want to get a different tariff. Many people, in order to cancel their tariff plan, simply stop paying for it; after six months, the tariff will be automatically disabled.

    Keep in mind. If you have some money left in your tariff account, after 120 days, if there are no actions that would entail debiting money from it, a daily fee of 3 rubles will be charged. along with VAT.

    How can I connect to the tariff?

    The most reliable way to connect to the Internet for Things tariff plan is to visit the company’s office. Don't forget to take your passport with you. Without it, nothing will be processed for you. It is possible to connect both with an existing number and with a new one. The last option would be more correct, because the tariff is used for very specific purposes.

    The easiest way to connect is on the operator’s official website, on the page where the services are described. If desired, you can order delivery of the SIM card by courier.

    Let's consider the capabilities of the Tele2 operator for use in children's watches.

    The advantage of this operator is that throughout Russia calls are free for subscribers of similar operators. Even if you are in another region, the smart watch will be available and you can reach your baby. Also, the Internet works throughout the country except Crimea, which is an undeniable advantage, since you will not lose your child - using a smart watch with GPS, its location is easy to track. The 2G coverage on which smart watches operate works almost throughout the country, except for Moscow and the Moscow region. The Tele2 website has a network coverage map, on it you can see whether there is 2G coverage in your place of residence and whether smart devices will work. Using the link https://tele2.ru you can check the operation of the operator’s network coverage.

    Tariff advantages

    For those who intend to use it for its intended purpose (in a smart watch, fitness bracelet or smart home system, etc.) they are undeniable.

    1. Cheap and exactly what you need. For example, a refrigerator connected to the Internet simply does not need a lot of traffic. Speed, even snail-like (65 Kb/s) is enough for data exchange with a smartphone or PC. Most electronic devices are not yet capable of making outgoing voice calls.
    2. “SMS” and “MMS” will not cost anything in roaming. For smartwatches, the advantage is very useful.
    3. Rounding up the Internet limit, even if a little more bytes are spent. The value seems small, but do not forget that we are talking about exchanging information between devices, and not about downloading videos, etc. Once the package is exhausted, the Internet will still work, albeit at a reduced speed. The main thing is that there is the required amount in the account.

    Minuses

    The tariff plan is not suitable for anything other than intended use. Even without downloading heavy files, simply surfing the Internet using the tariff will not work. Your traffic limit will run out quickly. The limit on the maximum number of SMS and minutes of calls is not very large, only for the most necessary things.

    What to look for when purchasing a Tele2 starter package?

    When buying a Tele2 SIM card, you should first of all pay attention to whether the gadget will work with it. Many users speak negatively about this operator due to the fact that not all smartwatches work with this SIM card.

    Also, when choosing a tariff plan, you need to analyze what features you require. If you use the Internet more, then you should give preference to those tariffs that offer a large Megabyte package.

    If you plan to use the watch as a phone, then it is better to choose a tariff plan with a package of minutes and SMS. When purchasing such a tariff plan, pay attention to the number of minutes for calls to numbers of other operators and their cost.

    Tele2 tariffs for smart watches

    Tele2 also offers subscribers to buy or sell unnecessary minutes and gigabytes. If you have spent the main package, you can purchase the required package on the exchange. The service is available on all tariffs except “Internet for devices”. Review of Tele2 tariffs that are suitable for smart watches

    This tariff is suitable for children's smart watches without video calling, since the latter requires significantly more traffic. Considering that calls to the child will be made mainly by parents, this tariff is the most profitable.

    Also, when choosing a tariff plan, you need to analyze what features you require.

    If you use the Internet more, then you should give preference to those tariffs that offer a large Megabyte package.

    When choosing a cellular operator, subscribers primarily focus on benefits and the combination of price, number of minutes and Internet. Smart watch owners are no exception. But each device has its own functions, and therefore, when choosing a tariff, you should take them all into account. I have long made a summary table comparing these tariffs, but now I’ll add “Internet for Things” from Tele2 to them and consider this tariff in more detail.

    • no subscription fee is charged;
    • There are several options for network access packages to choose from;
    • the Internet is accessible from a personal computer, without being tied to a specific location;

    • choose a different tariff plan;
    • Click on the “connect” section.
    • to home region numbers – 1.80 rubles per 1 message;
    • for any calls within the country – 2.50 per message;
    • MMS will cost 6 rubles per minute.

    Features of the tariff and rules of use

    If at the time of making the monthly payment there are insufficient funds on the SIM card balance, Internet access is not provided and the basic conditions of the tariff plan begin to apply:

    • Calls to Tele2 subscribers in your region and throughout Russia – 1.95 rubles/minute.
    • Calls to numbers of other mobile operators – 9 rubles/minute.
    • SMS to any phones in the Russian Federation – 1.95 rubles/minute, MMS and SMS to foreign mobile numbers – 5.5 rubles/minute.

    When traveling within Russia, the same rules apply if the monthly payment is not made, with the exception of calls to any Russian numbers - 5.5 rubles/minute.

    Outgoing messages to Russian phones are charged from the package included in the monthly fee. SMS containing over 70 Cyrillic or 160 Latin characters are divided into several parts, each of which is paid as a separate SMS.

    When a subscription fee is received, forwarding within a minute to phones in your home region and other Russian numbers costs 1.95 rubles. If the monthly payment is not received, the cost of the forwarded call is paid as an outgoing call in the same direction.

    Billing is per minute. Calls shorter than 3 seconds are not charged. Traffic is rounded up to the nearest 2 KB.

    Pros and cons of the Tele2 “Internet for Things” tariff

    pros

    • Unlimited Internet (however, if you look at the comparison table, this is the case for all operators).
    • Special option for smart watches (I wrote about it above);
    • As the operator himself writes: An important advantage of the tariff is the rounding of traffic to 1 KB. This is a very beneficial advantage if your device sends very small data packets, again see the comparison table.
    • Possibility to connect an annual subscription with a 35% discount. A very serious discount.
    • Calls and SMS to any numbers in Russia, and not just to numbers in your home region. For some, this will be a decisive choice.

    Minuses

    • Balances do not carry over to the next month.

    Tariff restrictions

    The proposal presented is subject to the following restrictions:

    • The solution cannot be connected to a phone or tablet. It is designed exclusively for smart devices.
    • When moving to the peninsula, the conditions provided for the home region begin to apply. That is, you will be able to spend the traffic package and conversations.
    • In Norilsk, the operator does not guarantee fast Internet operation. That is, the speed may drop to 64 Kbps.
    • If the subscription fee is not paid, the Internet package and calls will be charged according to the general conditions stated above.
    • The tariff plan excludes the use of a service that involves transferring unused megabytes to another user.
    • Also, as noted above, the limitation is the criterion of being outside the home region for more than a month. Then another 100 rubles will be debited from your account.
