Almost every phone owner uses the mobile Internet these days. Most people want to determine which operator is best for mobile Internet. This is becoming increasingly difficult to do, since each mobile operator is trying to attract a large number of new customers by improving its services in terms of the quality and cost of the Internet.
Criteria for choosing mobile Internet
Before you settle on any operator, there are a few things to consider that can help you make the right choice. These include the following criteria:
- speed;
- traffic volume;
- price.
Cost has recently played a very minor role, since the price of mobile Internet for each operator is approximately the same, and even the cheapest tariff is quite a bit less expensive than the most expensive.
Particular attention must be paid to the speed and number of gigabytes provided. When choosing the Internet for a mobile device, you need to take into account how the owner of the smartphone will use the traffic. If you plan to watch movies on your phone, then the minimum connection speed should be at least 1 Mbit/sec. For video calls via Skype you need from 512 Kbps, and for online games – 128–256 Kbps. The volume of traffic also depends on the purposes for which the Internet will be used for the phone.
How to choose a SIM card for a tablet
Not all tablets support the use of SIM cards. There are modifications of Wi-Fi and LTE (3G). Only the latter have a slot for installing SIM cards.
To ensure that the choice of SIM card does not turn out to be wrong, a potential buyer needs to pay attention to several important parameters:
- Operator coverage area.
- Included communication services.
- The number of gigabytes in a traffic package.
- Subscription fee amount.
The speed of the Internet and the overall quality of the connection will largely depend on the coverage area, although the Internet a priori cannot be fast on an old tablet. Having a package of minutes and SMS will be a pleasant bonus for those who will periodically make calls. The number of gigabytes of traffic is the main criterion that determines how often a person can access the Internet. And not a single person can ignore the size of the subscription fee. Everyone will try to look for cheaper services.
Internet from MTS
MTS is one of the most popular operators throughout Russia and neighboring countries. The provider's tariffs are distinguished by great variety, flexibility and differentiated offers for owners of different mobile devices. In the competition, all mobile operators are trying to improve their services, and MTS is no exception.
The company offers its customers a choice of the following tariff plans for smartphones:
- "Internet Maxi".
- "Internet Mini".
- "Internet VIP".
The difference between the three tariffs is the cost and the number of megabytes provided per month. So, in Internet Mini, the client receives 3 GB of traffic for daily use and pays 350 rubles. Thus, the cost of 1 GB is 116 rubles 67 kopecks. “Internet Mini” provides 12 GB at night and 12 GB during the day for 700 rubles. This means that for 1 MB you will have to pay less than 6 kopecks, and for 1 GB – 58 rubles. “Internet VIP” allows unlimited use, and daily traffic is 30 GB at a price of 1,200 rubles – 40 rubles/GB. If a subscriber has the opportunity to pay 1,200 rubles per month, then the “Internet-VIP” package will be the most optimal solution.
The company also provides the opportunity to use unlimited mobile Internet from MTS on smartphones and tablets. To do this, you need to connect to the “Smart Unlimited” tariff plan, the cost of which is 12.90 rubles per day in almost all regions except Moscow and the Moscow region, where from the second month MTS subscribers will have to pay 19 rubles per day.

Sometimes, to switch to unlimited mode, you may need to disconnect and return the Internet connection, or even restart the device. The remaining traffic at the end of the billing period does not go anywhere, but is transferred to the next month. This function fully compensates for the inflated subscription fee.

Minuses

Tariff “Super SIM Free” + “Simple Internet” from Rostelecom
The Rostelecom provider does not provide separate tariffs for tablet owners, however, you can activate additional packages from the “Simply Internet” line for the “Super SIM Free” tariff.

The Super SIM Free tariff is not initially intended for the Internet; it is primarily designed for cheap calls.
Tariff conditions:
- There is no subscription fee;
- calls to Rostelecom numbers in your home region - 0.80p;

- calls to Rostelecom numbers in other regions - 0p;

pros
- the lowest price tags among all five operators.

The cost of each package is respectively 500, 800, 1,200 and 1,800 rubles per month. Each of them provides the ability to connect to unlimited Internet. Thus, the subscriber has a chance to use unlimited mobile Internet for 500 rubles per month. In addition, the user must have 500 rubles in his account. This amount will initially be frozen and will eventually be returned to the owner.
Which tariff to choose for Internet on your phone and what to look for when choosing
Each of us has asked the question of how to choose the right tariff at least once, trying to optimize our mobile communications costs. Operators are offering more and more services, their cost is gradually decreasing, and the quality is becoming better.
To choose the right tariff plan, you need to pay attention to the following points:
- How high-quality is the coverage of the selected mobile operator;
- The amount you are willing to pay each month for communication services;
- How often do you use mobile Internet and make calls?
- Do you need additional services - packages of minutes, SMS messages, connection to an online cinema and others.
Some operators offer a so-called constructor, with which you can choose the optimal number of gigabytes of mobile Internet and completely abandon minutes and SMS messages.
Internet from Tele2
This is another operator that needs to be mentioned. Tele2 offers its subscribers three tariffs:
- 7 GB for 299 rub.
- 15 GB for 599 rub.
- 30 GB for 899 rub.
Thus, the price of 1 GB in these tariffs is 42.71 rubles, 40 rubles. and 30 rub. This is also a good offer. Of course, mobile Internet from Tele2 is not the most profitable, but the cost of 1 GB is cheaper than in tariffs from MTS.
Which operator has cheaper unlimited internet?
At the end of June, the analytical portal Content Review reported that Russia has the cheapest unlimited Internet
.
Fortunately, tariffs with unlimited traffic were returned last year, and thanks to them, our country topped this rating. By the way, the USA did not even make it into the top 20
.
The result is truly outstanding, but the question is: which operator has the cheapest unlimited Internet? I studied the websites of five major companies in Russia: Beeline, Megafon, MTS, Tele2 and Yota
.
Prices in different regions may vary; for simplicity, I indicated the cost in Moscow and the region.
Read the results obtained in this material.
All prices are as of July 2021.
Yota
The latest provider that provides its subscribers with unlimited mobile Internet is an operator called Yota. In addition to traffic, Yota offers unlimited messages and calls within the network, as well as 100, 300, 600, 900 or 1,200 minutes to numbers of other operators.
The not best thing is that a phone with a Yota card cannot be fully used as a modem. If you do this, 3G will not function fully. The speed will be limited to 128 Kbps, but for tasks that do not require a high-speed connection, it will be enough to ensure good performance.
Many believe that the quality of communication on Yota is not the best among all others, however, the services of this operator are available in all regions where Megafon has a connection.
We climb under the hood
Some smartphone models have slots designed for SIM cards of different sizes. If the SIM card does not fit in size, it can be replaced while maintaining the number at the operator’s office. As a rule, this procedure does not cost anything.
There are also adapters that allow you to install small cards in larger slots, and large cards can be cut using a special tool. You can almost always find it in a store that sells cell phones. Cutting a SIM card is usually a paid service.
As you can see, a dual-SIM smartphone gives you great convenience, but it can also have pitfalls. Now you know how to get around them.
The Internet may completely disappear on your smartphone if you do not monitor your balance. The most convenient way to control it and all connected services is in the free My MTS application. If you wish, you can monitor all your numbers in the application at once.
Internet for modems
A large number of subscribers are wondering which operator to choose to connect to the Internet via a modem. The first on the list is the MTS “Connect 4” tariff. This is one of the most favorable tariffs for a modem. To connect it, you need to purchase a modem from MTS. Any other company's device will not work. Data transfer speed is approximately 21 Mb/s. The activation cost is 699 rubles. After this, the subscriber must pay 600 rubles for each month.
Good internet for the modem is provided by Beeline and Megafon. The cost can be up to 1,000 rubles. depending on the region. Also, these two operators give their clients access to entertainment content (exchangers, game servers) without traffic charges.
Tele2
“My Tele2” line
The basic tariff “My Tele2” offers 5 GB of traffic per month for 7 rubles. per day (210 rubles for 30 days, 42 rubles/1 GB). This is the most advantageous offer with a small Internet package (5-9 GB) from Tele2.
“My conversation”, “My online”, “My online+”
The rest of the tariffs in this line can be conveniently configured depending on your preferences. Let's try to configure them in such a way as to achieve the maximum benefit in cost per gigabyte. 15 GB per month with a minimum number of minutes (200) can be obtained for 380 rubles. And 30 GB and 200 minutes can be connected for 500 rubles/month. This is already more profitable than the basic configurations, but you can go further.
The described tariffs include the option of exchanging minutes for gigabytes. In this case, 1 minute is converted into 10.24 MB. By exchanging our 200 mins for 2 additional GB, we will get 17 GB for 380 rubles. and 32 GB for 500 rubles, which will reduce the price per gigabyte to 22.3 rubles. and 15.6 rub. respectively. This will allow us to achieve the most favorable mobile Internet conditions from Tele2 for medium (10-15 GB) and large (more than 20 GB) package sizes. At the same time, the Internet will work throughout the country. The exchange operation can be performed through your personal account or using a special team.
Despite the fact that we exchanged all the minutes for gigabytes, we still have free calls to Tele2 numbers in our home region and Russia and 50 SMS to any numbers (can be used even when traveling around the country).
A distinctive feature of Tele2 tariffs is that the balance of the Internet, messages and minutes is transferred to the next billing period (this does not only apply to traffic accrued in exchange for minutes).
The described Tele2 tariffs allow you to use popular social networks and instant messengers without restrictions.
What does Megafon offer?
Megafon's prices are somewhat more affordable than MTS's, and its offers may be of interest to many potential subscribers focused on unlimited Internet:
- The Unlimited tariff is the cheapest of those that offer the required service - only 400 rubles / month.
- Unlimited Plus is only 35 rubles more expensive. allows Internet distribution without restrictions.
- The Maximum tariff already costs 650 rubles/month. and not much different from the same Unlimited Plus, why pay more;
As we can see, this company is quite capable of satisfying the consumer’s need for unlimited Internet.
