It is no secret that Russian mobile operators abuse the imposition of paid services. We already perceive this as a necessary evil and, when purchasing a new SIM card, the first thing we are interested in is how to set up the Internet, and then how to disable subscriptions on Megafon, Beeline or MTS.
There is nowhere to go, because the connected subscription leads to the fact that money is withdrawn from your account for its use, even if you do not need it. Here are some popular ways that mobile operators lure subscribers into the trap of paid subscriptions:
- Subscription is included in the tariff. Often subscribers do not think twice when purchasing a SIM card and do not read the terms and conditions written in fine print. And as a result, they receive a subscription along with the new number;
- The subscription is included in the tariff as a shareware service. Cell phone store consultants persuade the subscriber to connect to this or that service, citing the fact that it is free. In fact, it will only be free for the first month or two, and then you will start charging for it;
- The subscription is activated by using the USSD code. For example, by sending a code to the operator once to find out the weather for tomorrow, you can automatically subscribe to receive weather forecasts;
- The subscription is activated when you follow the link from the SMS. Cellular operators and their partner sites send SMS messages to subscribers containing offers to follow a certain link. The transition leads to the connection of the subscription.
And this is an incomplete list of methods of relatively legal deception that cellular operators do not shun. We tell you how to get rid of imposed services by disabling subscriptions on Megafon, MTS and Beeline. And at the same time, how to get rid of new ones - look for the treasured USSD codes at the end of our article.
How do you know if you have subscriptions?
If you notice that money has begun to quietly “leak” from your account, first of all check whether you have paid subscriptions. You can do this in two ways:
- In your personal account on the website of the mobile operator. For Megafon this is lk.megafon.ru > Services and options , for Beeline - my.beeline.ru > My data > My services , for MTS - login.mts.ru > Tariffs and services > Service management . All three pages display a list of paid and free services connected to your number;
- By sending USSD code. For Megafon it is *505# , for Beeline - *110*09# , for MTS - *152*2# . All three codes return a list of subscriptions activated for the current number.
Let's find out if there are connected subscriptions on Megafon.
Another way is to order account details from the operator. This way you can find out exactly when and for what funds were debited from your number, including as a fee for subscriptions.
The second universal method
In very rare cases, connecting a CS does not help. This can happen if the subscriber encounters a very unscrupulous operator.
In theory, a company can be held accountable by suing it, but few people want to waste time on proceedings. Therefore, if write-offs continue, you must:
- File a complaint with the operator himself. Most companies do not need scandals, and if the client notices a problem, they return the written off funds.
- When the money is returned, as in the first case, take the documents with you and go to the office.
- Sign an application to disable all services, except for options within the tariff plan.
After the described actions, funds will be withdrawn only for the tariff plan, which, at the client’s choice, can include only calls and SMS or also the Internet.
Note!
After processing the application, you will not be able to use the promised payment, geolocation and other potentially useful services.
Therefore, if force majeure periodically occurs to the owner of the number, it is better not to sign an agreement to disable all paid services.
How to disable subscriptions on Megafon?
If you find out that unwanted paid services are connected to your Megafon number, you should use one of the methods below to disable them.
1. Through your personal account. Use the page lk.megafon.ru > Services and options to get a list of services connected to the number. Click the button next to each service that you do not want to use to disable it.
2. Through a special service moy-m-portal.ru/moi_podpiski. Log into the network via the mobile Internet from Megafon (this is required, otherwise the site will not open) and click on the “Unsubscribe” next to unnecessary services.
3. By sending an SMS to the short number 5051. Go to the website podpiski.megafon.ru, which contains a table of subscriptions available to Megafon subscribers. Search for the service you have connected and find out its unique code in the “ Disable service” . After this, send an SMS with the text “ STOP <service code> ” to number 5051.
Codes for Megafon's partner and own services can be found in the table.
4. By sending a USSD code. A complete list of USSD codes for disabling Megafon services is available at this link.
Equipment setup
A few days ago, an elderly man I knew contacted me with a problem: funds were being debited from his mobile phone account. Topping up your account with 100 rubles is enough for several days. When the circumstances were clarified, it turned out that before these events he tried to download an e-book on the Internet and indicated his mobile phone number. Then I received an SMS with an incomprehensible confirmation and simply deleted it without delving into the essence. He still didn’t download the book, and the money from his mobile phone began to go in an unknown direction. As it turned out later, an acquaintance got a paid subscription to a completely unnecessary newsletter. Of course, we managed to turn it off, but the money that was spent on payment cannot be returned. This type of deception, which is tempting to be called fraud, has been in effect for quite some time.
It is worth noting that previously, when connecting such a service, the telecom operator did not notify the subscriber about this in any way. But after a wave of complaints, all major cellular operators began to compulsorily inform the client via SMS message, which also provides instructions on how to disable a paid subscription or service if the need for it is no longer necessary.
Today, all your connected services can be easily controlled through the subscriber’s personal account, where the tariff used, traffic spent, and current balance are displayed. There you can easily check whether any additional services are activated and disable them if necessary.
Megaphone
The subscriber's personal account is available at lk.megafon.ru. To authorize, you must enter a number. The password can be obtained using the USSD request *105*00# . After authorization, scroll down the page and open the “Services and Options” section:
All your currently used additional services - both paid and free - will be displayed here.
If you find something that you didn’t connect, and it turns out that you have to pay for it, feel free to disconnect it. Please note that by default, as a rule, the ban on paid content short numbers is active, which blocks the ability to enable a paid subscription through the short number of the content provider, which you may be forced to enter fraudulently. If it is not connected to you, I advise you to definitely fix it. Moreover, it is free. There is another similar service - Stop Content. Its meaning is approximately the same.
In general, I would like to note that Megafon is the only mobile operator that has taken a very responsible approach to working with subscriptions. firstly, it has a separate registry of unscrupulous content providers, the request to which should be rejected automatically when trying to make a connection. Secondly, there is a separate section on the official website - podpiski.megafon.ru, where all mailings and services available to the subscriber are displayed:
There is also a personal account, which also displays connected content services. For example, I have a free advertising service that sends me spam SMS once a day. To disable it, click on the “Unsubscribe” button. A confirmation window will appear:
Click on “Yes” and close the window.
Note: If you fall for the bait and urgently need to disable your paid subscription, but there is no Internet access at the moment, contact customer support at the short number 0500 or 8-800-550-0500. Operators quickly deactivate the service without any problems.
Beeline
Another major player of the Big Three, Beeline, has control of active subscriptions in the “Profile” section of the user’s personal account.
Scroll the page to the “My infotainment services” section
Here you can disable a paid subscription to Beeline, if you have one.
To avoid excesses, the provider itself strongly recommends connecting additional content balance control, which will help you instantly determine the presence of an unnecessary service and cancel it in time. To get a refund, you can try leaving a complaint through the customer service at 0611 . If it turns out that the service was connected to you fraudulently and without your consent, then most likely Beeline will return the money.
MTS (Mobile TeleSystems)
Mobile TeleSystems have a “My subscriptions” section on the main page of their Personal Account lk.ssl.mts.ru:
A list of connected content services will be displayed here. From here you can connect and disconnect paid subscriptions on your personal account.
Everything is clear and convenient. And most importantly, it is understandable to the average person and, I think, should not raise any questions.
MTS also has a very useful USSD command that I have not seen in others - *152# . It displays a complete list of paid content and further management of subscriptions. The operator’s recommendation is to enable the free “Content Ban” option if you do not plan to use such services. Refunds in case of accidental subscription are also possible based on a complaint. To do this, you need to call the information and subscriber service at 0890 and leave a request.
Tele2 (Rostelecom)
The poorest opportunities so far are with Rostelecom’s subsidiary, Tele2. I did not find any USSD commands for monitoring paid content, nor an additional service to prohibit its activation. Therefore, I advise you to monitor incoming messages extremely carefully. All available information can be obtained only through your personal account login.tele2.ru.
After authorization, you need to go to your Profile and select “Tele2 Mobile Subscriptions” in the list of services. After this, you will be transferred to another section of the official website, where you need to go to the “Manage Subscriptions” tab:
Well, at least a refund is available. To do this, you need to leave a request with a complaint via the short number 0611. Refund.
PS: At the end of the article I want to give some useful recommendations. Firstly, never provide your mobile phone number on unknown sites on the Internet. Secondly, carefully read the contents of the SMS messages you receive. If it talks about a service that you did not order, then there will be a reason to think about it and double-check everything in advance. And thirdly - if you do not use and do not plan to use paid subscriptions - spend a few minutes of your time and activate the free option to ban paid content.
How to disable subscriptions on Beeline?
In the case of Beeline, everything is much simpler. If you find unwanted subscriptions on the number of this mobile operator, you can do one of the following to get rid of them:
- Unsubscribe in your personal account. Open the page my.beeline.ru > My data > My services and turn off the switches next to unnecessary services. In the same way, you can unsubscribe through the My Beeline mobile application.
- Unsubscribe by sending an SMS with the word STOP or STOP to the short number from which subscription information is received. On Beeline, you can unsubscribe from your subscription by simply sending the word STOP to its number.
How to cancel your Google Play subscription
Situations often arise when you mistakenly subscribed to some application in Google Play, or your friends, neighbors or relatives did it. Sometimes the cost of a subscription is completely unreasonable and is designed only for weak technical literacy. Another scenario is that you simply no longer need a subscription, and it’s time to stop charging money for things you don’t use.
You can cancel your subscription both from your smartphone and from your computer. Let's consider the first case first.
- Open Google Play on your smartphone.
- Tap the menu in the top left corner of the screen.
- A menu will open, where from bottom to top there will be the items “My applications and games”, “Notifications” and immediately then “Subscriptions”. This is what you need, click on it.
- A list of your subscriptions will be displayed on the screen, clicking on each will display the cost and renewal date.
- Click “Cancel Subscription” and again to confirm.
The subscription will be cancelled, but the paid period will continue and will end according to the date indicated in the list.
On a computer the situation is similar.
- Open the subscriptions page on the Google Play website.
- We see our subscriptions, we act in the same way, clicking “Unsubscribe” for the desired positions.
How to disable MTS subscriptions?
The MTS operator was once at the epicenter of a major scandal over the imposition of a dial tone change service on subscribers. So now it properly provides the means to disable paid subscriptions:
- Personal Area. To disable subscriptions, just go to login.mts.ru > Tariffs and services > Service management or the “My MTS” application and turn the switches opposite unnecessary services to the off position.
- Service "Content Control". Dial the USSD code *152# or *121# and you will receive a menu that allows you to find out which subscriptions are connected to your number and disable unnecessary ones, or disable all subscriptions at once. MTS gives you the opportunity to unsubscribe from all subscriptions at once (but it doesn’t work for everyone).
- Sending SMS. Send an SMS with the word STOP or STOP to the number from which subscription messages are received.
This is a list of the main ways to disable subscriptions on Megafon, Beeline and MTS.
Canceling Amazon Prime Subscriptions
Many people use both the Prime subscription itself (for example, to support their favorite streamer on Twitch and get in-game goodies) and subscribe to other services through Amazon.
- Let's go to the main Amazon.
- Go to your account in the upper right corner.
- Click “Account and Lists” in the same place so that a drop-down menu appears.
- In it, select “Memberships and Subscriptions” under the subheading “Your Account”.
- For some reason, subscriptions are called channels there. For example, Netflix is a channel. Select “Channel Subscriptions” in the lower left corner of the page.
- Click “Delete channel” opposite the subscription we need and confirm the action.
Other ways to disable paid Beeline subscriptions
You can deactivate annoying paid services on the web resource of the company’s official portal, as well as using a mobile phone, even without the Internet. Choose what is most convenient for you, and we will go through the main ways to disable paid services:
- Sending a command request. If you dial the combination *110*09#call, you will receive an SMS in response. The text will indicate all the paid services that are available on your number, and a deactivation code will be indicated for each of them. Select which one you want to disable, enter it on your phone.
- Personal account on the website or in the application. We have already discussed this method earlier. It will require Internet access - Wi-Fi, wired or mobile.
- Call technical support. Operator number 0611. You need to authenticate. And then explain to the Beeline employee that you need to disable paid subscriptions. The only disadvantage of this method is that it takes a lot of time. The fact is that if you make a call during rush hour, you can wait more than 20 minutes to connect with a live operator.
- Contact the Beeline office. This can be done in any department in your region. For your visit, take your passport with you. The manager will help you complete the procedure for deactivating subscriptions on your number.
Beeline
Using Beeline cellular communications, you will not be able to find out about paid subscriptions via SMS. Only through your personal account in the “Infotainment Services” section.
Where you can enable and disable options. Or use disabling subscriptions via SMS messages to the short number 6255. But only if these subscriptions are from the catalog of PJSC VimpelCom.
Cancel (cancel) your Adobe subscription
To be honest, canceling a subscription with Adobe was, until recently, the most difficult thing - you had to contact support and respond to their intrusive offers in the spirit of “maybe you’ll change your mind?” All this could take up to an hour of real time and was very annoying; I don’t want to deal with Adobe after such an attitude towards clients.
But now the situation has changed and just recently I canceled my subscription without communicating with the support team, who spoke little English.
- Log in to your account on the Adobe website.
- After authorization, click on the avatar and select “Adobe Account”.
- We see the subtitle “My plans”.
- Select the desired paid plan and select “Manage plan”.
- A window will open with a “Cancel Plan” button.
Be careful and read everything very carefully, there may be pitfalls and tricks from Adobe.
Cancel your Yandex.Plus subscription
Tired of taking discounted taxis and listening to music? Just realized that you don’t need a Plus subscription? It's very easy to disable it.

- We look for “Subscriptions” at the top, or after logging in, simply follow the direct link to the subscriptions section.
- On the right you will see the “Manage” button, click it.
- Click "Cancel Subscription".
Similarly, using these instructions, you can cancel your KinoPoisk .
If you subscribed through the Yandex.Music application in the AppStore or Google Play, see the instructions for canceling in these services above.
Why is it so difficult to unsubscribe from paid subscriptions?
The problem of debiting funds from bank cards for various paid subscriptions is quite common. Sometimes a person doesn’t even know exactly how much he spends per month on all his existing subscriptions, so all their diversity can be quite difficult to track. Moreover, companies providing services on a paid basis are not interested in the transparency of such payments. Therefore, the client often finds out about them during the next debiting of an unplanned amount from his card.
By subscribing to such a subscription and entering the details of his Sberbank card, the user does not suspect that he is hooked. Subsequently, even if the user abandons the paid application that is not suitable for him and deletes it from the phone, the subscription to such an application will continue to be valid. Money will also be debited from the card automatically.
There is also an element of randomness in the activation of a paid subscription for Yandex Plus, Banando, Kinopoisk HD, OKKO, IVI. Quite often, such a subscription can be obtained by simply clicking on the wrong page on an unfamiliar site. Not to mention that on some sites a free trial period can automatically turn into a paid one, for which the user will be charged money.
Please remember that paid subscriptions are usually charged the day before the subscription period begins. In the event of such a write-off, in most cases you will no longer be able to return your money.
Having discovered another debit from his Tinkoff or other card, the user may decide to unlink it from all existing subscriptions. Let's find out how this can be done.
