How to call Russia from abroad: available options

How to write phone numbers

A correctly written phone number helps your client or friend get through without hassle. If you care about how a person will look for you, pay attention to this issue. The recording of telephone numbers has changed for more than a hundred years since the invention of the telephone, as have the numbers themselves (for example, until 1968, telephone numbers in the USSR were written in letters).

Briefly about recording Russian numbers

Let's go deeper. Where to start the number? +7 or 8

The recording of Russian (and, by the way, Kazakh and Abkhazian) numbers begins with the country code: +7

.
Russia and Kazakhstan inherited the seven from the USSR (the international code of the USSR was +7
).
And eight is the long-distance access code adopted within the USSR, which we still use on landline phones. For international calls from landlines we dial 8 10
. The rules for accessing an international line are different in all countries:

That is, when writing down the number using an eight, you will have to explain to the foreigner that, firstly, he needs to call Russia (and not Vietnam and South Korea, whose telephone numbers begin with an eight), and secondly, that he does not need to dial an eight at all , and instead you need to dial seven.

You will also not be able to call home from abroad by dialing a number using the eight dial.

It is also incorrect to use number eight in advertising and on websites, or such numbers should be given an explanation: only for Russia.

It is interesting that in Belarus (and some other countries of the former Union) the principle of intercity access that existed in the USSR was also preserved. That is, the owner of a Belarusian online store who indicated the number after an eight will make life difficult for his potential clients from Russia. They simply won’t be able to get through if they don’t notice that the store is located in another country. What should I do? Start the number with the country code:

Where to put parentheses in a phone number?

There are no hard and fast rules regarding parentheses. But there are norms of the Russian language (brackets are used for explanatory and supplementary information). the optional part should be placed in brackets

telephone number.

Inside some cities the code

is optional and can be omitted. In such cases, parentheses can be either omitted or used when writing. That is, the Bryansk number could be written without parentheses: +7 48-32 54-32-10 and even without the city code: 54-32-10 (if it is clear from the context which city we are talking about). Parentheses make the number easier to read by breaking it down into optional and mandatory parts.

How to save numbers?

Subscribers often leave contacts in the phone book using the number eight. At the same time, employees of communication stores insist that the Russian telephone code be used in international format. It’s faster to write one number, especially since the plus appears only when you press zero for a long time, but in this case there is a risk of communication problems.

An emergency business trip or an unexpected last-minute trip for which the user did not have time to prepare will not cause problems. When roaming, the SIM card is registered in another network, so to make a call or send an SMS you will need the Russian telephone code in international format. The same factor is taken into account when sending a contact to another person.

International dialing code of Belarus

The telephone code of Belarus used for international calls is +375.
To call from mobile to mobile in Belarus, dial +375-(mobile operator code)-(subscriber number) When calling from mobile to landline, dial +375-(area code)-(telephone number) When calling from a landline from Russia on a mobile phone in Belarus the combination should be as follows: 8-beep-10-375-(mobile operator code)-(subscriber number); To landline: 8-dial-10-375-(area code)-(telephone number). When making an international call from Russia through the MTT operator, instead of 8-10 you need to dial: 8

Which is correct: Belarus or Belarus?

The name Republic of Belarus is officially established in the Constitution of the state. This name is also indicated in the OKSM (this is the official classifier of countries of the world) and is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

What do you think about the protests in Belarus?

It so happened that I have quite a lot of friends in Belarus, among IT people. That is, on the one hand, the sample is a little unrepresentative, and on the other, people are clearly not stupid and are capable of objective analysis of information. Moreover, not all of them know each other and none of them had previously been noticed in political activity. Traditionally, education and certain aspects of life were scolded, but that was all.

So here it is. It’s been almost a month since I’ve had a breakdown on Facebook (actually longer, it started before the elections). Many people began to actively write about what they saw themselves, where they went, what they did, etc. They wrote about planned falsifications, which they could personally confirm (it’s hard not to recognize the voices of the head teacher, director and teachers of the school where your child has studied for the last few years in the recording), about how they were personally not allowed as observers on the territory of the polling stations, about the way rallies are held, etc. Even those who previously wrote 1-2 messages a year became more active. And, which is typical, NOT A SINGLE post in support of Lukashenko. Really none. Not in the sense that I did not see a single message in support of the current government, although I did come across a few, but in the fact that such messages were not published by Belarusians whom I know personally.

That is, people who themselves live in Belarus, who for me personally have proven themselves to be clearly good, and who, I hope, understand the situation, universally believe that they are not on the same path with the current president and government. Moreover, I am 100% sure that they do not write these messages and do not go to rallies for money (they are not the same people, and their salaries are not the same), and they would be able to recognize the basic signs of self-manipulation.

Where is it better to live: in Russia or in Belarus?

I was born in Russia, lived for 10 years (from 8 to 18) in Belarus, then again in Russia (for more than 10 years). In the Republic of Belarus she lived in a small town (Vitebsk region, Senno), in the Russian Federation she lived in several cities (Smolensk, Ulan Ude, Moscow, Moscow region). I will say that in terms of opportunities, it is much better to live in Russia, people here are somehow more open and less complex, less dependent on public opinion, more active, more courageous. In Belarus there is no huge difference in income, everything is approximately at the same level. But the standard of living is lower, although, I am sure, if Belarus had such minerals and natural resources as Russia, Lukashenko would make a miracle out of his country, like the Emirates. Work is better in Russia. It’s good to have a holiday in Belarus with a salary from Russia – yes.

Complaints, comments

Complaints and comments about Russian phone numbers (without registration).

If suspicious people call or write to you, you have suffered from the actions of telephone scammers, you receive spam or viral messages via SMS or instant messengers, you receive constant advertising or unknown calls, threats or suspicious requests, please report this.

To make possible calls abroad, you just need to understand the simple details to call from Belarus to Russia from a mobile or landline phone.

First, let's look at the process of calling from landlines. To do this, look at this template:

“International connection” “country code” “city code” “subscriber number”.

  • “00 or 810” to go international;
  • 7 — Russian country code;
  • city code.

In an example it would look like this:

Follow the link for Russian city codes; I selected the Belgorod region and the Borisovka city code from the list. Now to call Borisovka, I need a code - 47246.

If you call a landline number, then from Belarus you need to dial 007 (47246) xxx-xx-xx. Where 47246 is the area code. And the phone number itself must consist of seven digits.

810 is considered obsolete, but nevertheless still works.

Financial side of the issue

If we talk about communication via landline devices, then for this service you will have to pay an average of 26 rubles per minute.

Now let’s look at how much it costs to call Belarus from Russian mobile operator numbers.

MTS

The standard tariff for roaming with Belarus is 35 rubles for all tariff plans.

However, there is an opportunity to save significantly if you make such calls quite often.

By activating the Favorable International Calls package and paying a monthly fee of 75 rubles, you will be able to communicate with Belarusians for 25 rubles per minute.

Beeline

For this operator, the cost will depend on your tariff plan and ranges from 30 (TP Unlim) to 35 rubles/min.

At the same time, by activating the Per-Second package, the cost of calls will be 24 rubles/min. In addition, there is no fee for switching to a tariff plan and no monthly subscription fee.

Megaphone

Owners of Megafon's most popular tariffs will have to pay 39 rubles per minute for communication. but with the Warm Welcome package the price is reduced to 25 rubles per minute of negotiations. True, the monthly subscription fee is 650 rubles. So I don’t see any particular benefit in changing my package for this.

Tele 2

It did not provide any special offers on the topic under discussion, and the standard cost of the service in all tariffs is 30 rubles per minute.

Iota

There is also no advantageous offer for communication with foreign subscribers and the cost of calls to Belarus in all packages is 30 rubles/min.
