The operator allows you to forward voice calls to another number, but in Poland you will not find options to forward SMS this way. Luckily, SMS can be forwarded to another phone number using the appropriate Android app. How to do it?


Forwarding calls or text messages to another number is useful when we have multiple numbers but want to be able to access everything on one device. Voice call forwarding can be set up on the operator's side, but it's worse with SMS messages. Mobile operators in Poland do not provide the ability to forward text messages. What to do then? You can set up SMS forwarding using the Android app.

An application running in the background can capture received SMS messages and then send them to another number, any number. Of course, the condition is that the phone with the SMS redirection app must be turned on all the time. The app is responsible for the redirection, not the operator, so when the device is turned off, the redirection stops working. How do you set this up?

Shutdown

You can deactivate “SMS forwarding” using a USSD request - the user needs to dial *286*0# on the phone and then make a call.

To display the status of the application, you need to dial *286# and the call key.

You can also disable any option in the subscriber’s Personal Account by going to the “Services” section.

“SMS Pro” from MTS is a paid set of services that can be managed from the device itself or from the subscriber’s Personal Account. It is available on all tariffs, with the exception of solutions for laptops, tablets and smart devices.

The option works for incoming messages from subscribers of Russian or international mobile operators, with the exception of SMS from short numbers (up to 7 digits) or from MTS service departments.

Subscriber capabilities when using the option

By connecting “SMS Pro” from MTS, the client receives a capacious archive for storing correspondence, an SMS forwarding function, as well as an automatic response to SMS if a person cannot answer them on his own.

SMS archive

You can view your correspondence within the framework of “SMS Pro” from MTS in your Personal Account. The subscriber has access to filters for searching SMS: by date, by sender/recipient name, by text.

Available volume – 3 MB SMS (approximately 2000 messages).

If the archive is 100% full, the user will receive a notification to delete unnecessary data. When full, SMS will be deleted automatically in chronological order, starting from the oldest.

The SMS archive from MTS contains messages received (sent) from phones (to phones) of any cellular companies.

To access SMS in your Personal Account, you need to enable “Message Archive”. SMS received on the smartphone before the archive is activated will not be displayed in it. Once disabled, SMS services will not be displayed.

SMS forwarding

This feature allows you to forward incoming SMS to other phones. The following types of forwarding are available:

  • unconditional – the subscriber sets the numbers to which all received SMS are sent;
  • by numbers or groups of numbers – the client determines from which phones and to which number messages are forwarded;
  • by time – setting the period during which incoming SMS are sent.

Forwarding can be set to numbers of all mobile operators.

SMS auto reply

This function allows you to configure automatic sending of messages in response to incoming SMS under the following conditions:

  • unconditional – automatic response to all SMS;
  • by numbers or groups of numbers – definition of telephones from which messages are sent an automatic response;
  • by time – set the period during which the answering machine operates.

The maximum length of automatic SMS is no more than 320 Cyrillic or Latin characters.

Price

The cost is 1.50 or 1.60 rubles per day (depending on the tariff plan) in Moscow and the Moscow region. The price for other constituent entities of the Russian Federation can be clarified on the official website on the option description page, in your Personal Account or the “My MTS” program when connecting, as well as from the Support Service.

Messages sent as part of forwarding or auto-reply are paid according to the subscriber's tariff plan or consumed from packages connected to the tariff or received as a result of activating optimizing SMS options.

Features of MTS forwarding

If you chose the second method, that is, the call is transferred to another number if there is no answer for some time, then remember that you can independently set the time interval after which the call is redirected. For example, if you did not answer the call within 10 seconds, the incoming call was automatically switched to another number.

Such call redirections are paid and their cost depends on the terms of the tariff plan to which the main number is connected (see below).

If you are planning a trip abroad where you do not need this option, you should disable it in advance. You can also, on the contrary, activate the option specifically for a foreign trip.

When forwarding a call, airtime is rounded up per minute (unless otherwise provided by the tariff plan).

Calls forwarded to another phone are paid depending on the direction of the call: forwarding to mobile MTS, landline, long-distance and phones of other operators of the Republic of Belarus is paid in accordance with the tariff plan; forwarding to international numbers is paid as an outgoing international call. Types of forwarding in MTS

Since cases in which MTS forwarding to another number may be required may be different, the company provides four different types of this option.

  1. The first is especially suitable for corporate companies and clients, since the signal is forwarded to another number immediately after receiving a busy signal.
  2. Next, MTS call forwarding occurs if the number does not answer for a certain time. The call period is determined by the subscriber himself.
  3. The subscriber's device is out of network coverage or is turned off. In this case, all incoming calls will be redirected to another number.
  4. Unconditional forwarding transfers all incoming calls to the specified number.

It is very important that this function allows you to redirect calls to absolutely any number, be it a landline number or belonging to another mobile operator. Some problems may arise with calls from numbers that begin with 8800.

The essence of call forwarding to MTS

There are four types of forwarding from MTS (as with other mobile operators):

  • Due to busy (if the subscriber is busy with another call).
  • Due to the lack of answer to the call (the number does not answer).
  • Due to inaccessibility (outside the access zone - outside the city, in the subway, etc.).
  • Unconditional call forwarding option.

How does this mechanism work? If one of the above circumstances is present, the call is redirected to a set number, which can be any mobile phone around the world (sometimes voicemail numbers are set). Difficulties sometimes arise due to the installation for switching mobile in the 8-800 category.

The consequence of using conditional forwarding in roaming is the charging of a double tariff - for both incoming and outgoing calls at once.

You can set up call forwarding in the “Call Settings” menu (sometimes the name is different) in your cell phone. Here you need to set the appropriate type of forwarding and enter a mobile number (mandatory including +7). If necessary, the user can select several types of forwarding at the same time by setting different numbers. You can also disable the option here. How can I set up redirection in another way? For example, this is available in the corresponding section of your Personal Account on the MTS website and using a USSD request. There are a number of USSD commands:

  • **21*number#. Suitable for activating unconditional switching. To disable, use request ##21#.
  • **61*number*interval#. Suitable for activating call forwarding due to the fact that the subscriber does not answer. To disable, enter ##61#. The interval can be anywhere from five to thirty seconds in five second increments. The automatic interval will be five to fifteen seconds, it depends on the specific SIM card.
  • ##002#. Used to remove any redirection.
  • **67*number#. Suitable for activating switching due to number occupancy. You can disable it like this: ##67#.
  • **62*number#. Can be installed due to subscriber unavailability. To disable, send request ##62#.

To manage the service, call the operator’s customer support center, but then you will have to pay thirty rubles for installation. Please note that it is impossible to redirect an already forwarded call. In such a situation, outgoing calls for calling users are interrupted.

Forwarding cost

Connection is free. There is not only a one-time connection fee, but also a monthly subscription fee. If there is any payment, it is only for accepting forwarded calls. The price for such a call corresponds to the cost of 1 minute of conversation for an outgoing call from the main number. This suggests that if there is no need, it is advisable to immediately disable the service to avoid additional costs.

You can also activate the service through customer support by calling 0890. However, if you connect with the help of company employees, the cost of the service will be 30 rubles.

If you have activated the option in order to travel abroad, then the service will also work outside the Russian Federation, however, the price for calls increases greatly and depends on the following indicators:

  • Price per minute of incoming call in accordance with roaming conditions,
  • Price per minute of outgoing call in accordance with roaming prices for forwarded calls.

How to disable

You can disable MTS forwarding in the same ways that you enabled it: through a command from your phone, in your Personal Account or the “My MTS” application.

How to forward SMS for different operators

In this section, we will tell you how to set up the described service with the four main mobile operators in Russia.

MTS

MTS's message forwarding service is called SMS Pro. With its help, messages can be redirected not to one, but to several numbers. And you can connect the described service in three ways.

  • You can do this yourself using USSD request. To do this, dial the combination *111*2320# and press call.
  • You can also enable message forwarding by sending SMS. To do this, type the word PER or ON in Latin and send it to number 232 . You will receive a response message. It will contain instructions. In one of the items you will need to enter the number to which you want to receive forwarded messages. After this, the instructions with your data will need to be sent to the same number from which you received it.
  • Finally, you can enable message forwarding using your personal MTS account. In order to use this method, log in and find SMS Pro in the list of services. Then configure the service the way you need.

The cost of the described service from the red-and-white operator is conditional - only one and a half rubles per month. Connection is completely free.

Tele 2

This operator allows you to forward messages to numbers of other Russian mobile operators. The nice thing is that both connection and use of the service will be free for you. Sending messages will cost as much as stated in the sender's tariff. Considering those cases when you will be roaming.
