Home radio is a telecommunications service that many modern people no longer even remember. If you are one of those, then our article today is clearly not intended for you. We want to talk about Rostelecom radio points, which some subscribers can still use today.
Radio point
Now not everyone knows what a radio point is. And who knows, he won’t immediately remember where she is in the apartment and the last time a radio was connected to her. But at the same time, many regularly pay for wired radio, since this service is included in the general housing and communal services bill.
In Novosibirsk, for example, since June last year, Rostelecom has been charging 100 rubles per month for a radio point. And if you don't listen to the radio or use an FM receiver, it makes sense to refuse the service.
Collective TV antenna
All residents of an apartment building pay for a collective television antenna because it provides them with a television signal. In theory.
In practice, some have cable TV, some have digital TV, some don’t watch TV at all (why, if there is Internet?). But they pay.
The funny thing is that this relic is sometimes more expensive than modern methods of receiving information (40–140 rubles per month depending on the city and service provider).
You can watch television cheaper. For example, in “Electronic City” our “Starter” tariff with 35 channels costs only 49 rubles per month.
City phone
The landline telephone is not so outdated, but fewer and fewer people use it - and mostly older people. Mobile communications are often cheaper.
Thus, in Novosibirsk, a home phone from Rostelecom costs 330–490 rubles per month. And if the only people calling you on your landline are advertisers and a robot lady informing you about a late payment, it’s better to just get rid of it.
But keep in mind: if you have ever connected security services, most likely the connection with it is “tied” to the phone. Therefore, it will not be possible to disable it completely - you need to leave the subscriber line. It costs 180 rubles per month.

How to disable an unnecessary service
The details may vary, but in general the process looks something like this.
1. Find out which company provides the service. The name and contact details are most likely listed on the receipt.
If you entered into an agreement with this company yourself, carefully read the “Termination Procedure” section and do what it says.
If the service appears on the general invoice and is paid through the management company or HOA, you will have to find out the name, address and telephone number of the supplier from them.
What could go wrong
Some companies charge money for disconnecting services (within one and a half to two monthly subscription fees). This is not entirely legal, but it is better to pay first, and then, if you want, try to get the money back through court.
Sometimes the service provider is in no hurry to respond to a disconnection request. This is where your copy of the application comes in handy.
Sometimes the supplier will stop charging after the contract is terminated. A visit from bailiffs who are trying to collect non-existent debts can be an unpleasant surprise. Therefore, save the document that the master gave you, or the agreement to terminate the contract.
And don’t forget: as long as you have debts, nothing will be cut off for you.
A radio station hanging on the wall is an indispensable attribute of a Soviet apartment. Radio networks were used to broadcast information, music and news programs. Today their demand is approaching zero. Rostelecom wired radio broadcasting is present in many regions. It is used by a limited number of subscribers - mostly elderly people. But they are also forced to refuse broadcasting due to high subscription fees.

Automatic information services: 8-800-100-25-25
Every day, the provider's employees process thousands of calls and messages received from clients (including potential ones). You should know the telephone number of the Rostelecom hotline in Moscow. Since it will be required in the following cases:
- If you want to connect a new service, find out the conditions for its connection, subscription fee, etc.;
- If you have lost access to a particular service for unclear reasons;
- If technical advice is required related to current/connected offers from Rostelecom;
- If you have, in general, any questions related to home Internet, interactive television, home telephone, mobile communications. These and many other services can be resolved with providers over the phone.
The current state of radio broadcasting
Maintaining wired broadcast networks is quite expensive. That’s why the subscription fee in some regions goes beyond 200 rubles/month. Radio networks broadcast from one to three stations. The first broadcast is conducted in low-frequency mode; to listen to it you need the simplest receiver - it has almost nothing except a volume control and a speaker. The remaining two programs are broadcast with high-frequency modulation - to listen to them you need a three-program receiver with mains power supply.
How to disable the Rostelecom radio point
This question comes up many times more often than the question about connection. After all, there are plenty of alternatives to wired broadcasting from RSVO and Rostelecom:
- FM broadcasting – stationary and portable FM receivers are used to receive it.
- Internet broadcasting – here you can listen to radio broadcasts from all over the world. These are tens of thousands of stations of various directions. Broadcasts are free of charge. To listen, a minimum tariff plan with a speed of 128 kbit/sec is sufficient.
- Broadcasting on satellite networks - for example, it is carried out by the operator Tricolor. It broadcasts about 40 Russian stations.
- Broadcasting on digital TV networks, including terrestrial digital television networks in the DVB-T2 standard. Three radio stations broadcast here.
Radio station tariffs range from 60 to 250 rubles/month. The total amounts for the year vary from 720 to 3000 rubles. For this money you can buy a good FM receiver and listen to it for years without a subscription fee. Radio broadcasting in the FM range is carried out even in small settlements.
Payment for the radio point is charged monthly - regardless of whether listeners use wired radio broadcasting or not. And the bills keep coming. It is impossible to prove the fact that you do not use a radio point. If you don't need it, you need to discard it. You can disable wired radio broadcasting services at the Rostelecom office in your city. Write a cancellation request and forget about the extra subscription fee. Until you do this, you will receive new bills every month. Failure to pay them will result in penalties.
If it is not Rostelecom, but RSVO, that is responsible for broadcasting, contact the office of this organization with a passport to terminate the contract.

What is Radiotochka from Rostelecom
Home radio is a fairly old service, which during the Soviet Union was extremely popular and was present, perhaps, in every apartment. Then people could enjoy music, entertainment programs, news broadcasts, even broadcasts for the youngest listeners.
Today, a radio point, by and large, is a service that is used as a kind of “mouthpiece” capable of notifying listeners about a variety of situations:
- Ecological disasters;
- Man-made accidents;
- Natural disasters and cataclysms;
- Probable terrorist attacks.
If you suddenly encounter the sounds of a siren in the city, this means that you urgently need to turn on such a stationary radio. It is on its frequency that information regarding the purpose of the sound of the siren should be broadcast.
Possible options for disabling the radio point
If you follow the established rules, there must be a radio point in any apartment, any house. However, we all understand that the presence of a radio point is not always comparable to our wishes in interior design, and to be precise, its presence is never comparable to such wishes.
But simply physically disconnecting the point is not an ideal solution due to the fact that the subscription fee for its use will continue to be charged. Of course, the amount of the subscription fee charged is almost invisible, but is it really worth paying for downtime of a service that you will most likely never use?
This is where the question arises about existing methods of refusing to continue using this service and completely turning off the radio point. And today there are several of them:
- Contacting a special organization called RSVO;
- Contact the local housing office with a request of an appropriate nature. Of course, this “request” must be made in writing.

Contacting RSVO or Rostelecom
As for the second method, which implies the need to contact the RSVO organization, there is also a small catch here: this organization is not present in every locality. Even some large cities do not have such institutions on their territory. And here the answer to the question of how to turn off the radio point will be given by the Rostelecom company, because in such regions it is the all-Russian telecommunications provider that takes over the function of turning it off.
In order to initiate the procedure for disconnecting a radio point, subscribers need to contact the nearest Rostelecom office, where they fill out an application form in the appropriate form and leave it for consideration. The point will be disabled soon.
Finally, we note that in some regions Rostelecom even offers those customers who contact the company to turn off the radio free access to city Wi-Fi networks.
Ways to disable the radio point
Due to the irrelevance of the option in question, many people set the goal of disabling it. However, not everyone knows how to do this. There are several methods, each of which may be suitable in certain situations. Let's look at each of them.
It is important to note that, oddly enough, the radio point does not turn off for free. The subscriber must pay 60 rubles and provide a receipt. Only after this will the corresponding procedure be launched.
Contacting the Housing Office
To begin with, it is worth mentioning the classic option - contacting the Housing Office. This is a special office that deals with all housing and communal issues in a certain sector of the city district. Her powers also include turning off Rostelecom's radio point. However, this method is not preferred.
The fact is that a visit to the housing office is always a complex bureaucratic procedure. In its course, you can spend a lot of time, nerves and effort. But in the end, the service either will not be disconnected, or this will not happen soon. Therefore, it is worth moving on to the next option.
Contacting RSVO or Rostelecom
In large populated areas, you must contact any branch of the RSVO company. It is she who has been delegated the authority to turn off radio points. You need to come to the office and see a consultant. He will provide the necessary form to fill out. It contains the following data:
- full address, including street, house, building, apartment, entrance, floor and code;
- reason for refusing the service;
- date when payment for disconnection was made;
- date of submission of the form;
- applicant's signature.
In small localities there may not be a RSVO branch. In such places, you must contact the offices of PJSC Rostelecom. The consultant will issue the same form and receipt for payment. Disabling is carried out within 30 calendar days.
Disconnection through State Services
Fortunately, today you can give up your radio without leaving your home. This opportunity is provided by the service “State. All you need to do is log in with your name and submit an online application. Let's look at detailed instructions that allow you to do this. However, it is important to note that site design may differ for different regions. However, the procedure itself is approximately the same. Algorithm for residents of Moscow and the Moscow region:
- Go to the official website “My Documents” in Moscow at the web address: https://md.mos.ru/ .
- Open the “Services” category and select the “Disable radio point” menu item.
- On the page that opens, you can familiarize yourself with the conditions for disabling the option in question. Here, click “Application to disconnect a radio point” to submit it.
- The application form will open in your browser. It is no different from those provided at the Housing Office, RSVO or Rostelecom. You need to print it out, fill it out and scan it into your computer.
- Now you need to pay for disconnection. This feature is implemented in the utility services category of the following services:
- online banking;
- most terminals;
- ATMs;
- during a personal visit to the housing office, RSVO or Rostelecom.
- If everything is done, you can proceed to sending the completed form. To do this, go to the “Electronic Reception” category from the main page of “My Documents”.
- Here you need to fill out a form that includes the following fields:
- FULL NAME;
- natural or legal person;
- How convenient is it to receive a response—email or regular mail;
- E-mail address;
- postcode;
- text of the appeal;
- The following documents must be attached to the application: passport (registration page and main page);
- completed application form;
- a receipt or check confirming payment for the disconnection;
- security code from the picture;
- After filling out all fields, click “Submit”.
If everything is done correctly, the application will be accepted. Now all that remains is to wait for the response from the company representatives and the disconnection of the radio point from Rostelecom.
