It will be much easier if the owner remembers the answer to the security question. Then, by entering it into the line, the system will understand that the real owner of the account is trying to regain control of it, and in the next window it will prompt you to enter a new password.

If the user does not remember the exact answers to the questions asked, all that remains is to give only approximate answers (for example, not the date of account registration, but the month, etc.), but all lines must be filled out.

By entering the answers, the system will be able to assess whether the user is the owner of the account. If he confirms this fact, he will be transferred to the form for setting a new password.

After entering a new password, all you have to do is click on the save button, after which you can log into your account.

Option number 3: How to find out your Google account by phone number

The password and other authorization data for Google mail can be lost in a variety of cases. Information about obtaining data in case of loss of access is filled in when registering an account.

To be able to recover a password via SMS, the user must have previously activated the corresponding function in the account settings. Thanks to this, if you lose your password, a code will be sent to the phone linked to your profile, by entering which you can reset the old password and set a new one.

This method will allow you to restore access to your mail, even if its address has been forgotten.

You need to do this:

Open the Google support page and enter in the field the phone number that was used during registration. Messages are not sent to other numbers - only to the one that was linked to the profile.
By clicking on “Next”, a window with a captcha will appear on the screen, which you need to enter into the line, and then clicking on “Continue”.
In the next window, you must select a method for obtaining a code to reset your previous password. The code is sent via SMS or voice call.
After selecting the desired option, a new window will appear where you must enter the code.
Once entered, the old password will be reset. All that remains is to enter a new password.

For security reasons, the number of SMS messages with codes is limited. It is also necessary to take into account delays that occur when sending messages, which is why the code does not arrive immediately. If, in case of a delay, several more requests were sent, then you should enter the code from the last received message.

Option #4: Recovering a forgotten Google account

There are chances to regain access even to an account that was completely forgotten by the user.

To restore, you will need to follow the following procedure:

First you need to open the site.
In the login window, click on “Unable to log into your account.”
In the window where you select a method for restoring access, click on “I don’t remember my username,” then click the “Continue” button.
In the following form, fill out the information fields. You need to enter data in each line, as well as enter the captcha code. When finished, click on “Submit”.
Instructions with further steps to restore access to your profile will be sent to the specified email address.
If the user knows a backup e-mail address, then the method will be even simpler. In the window where the user selects a recovery method, you need to select the line “Other problems occur when logging in.”

Option #5: How to restore access to a deleted Google account

Even a deleted account can be restored if more than a week has passed since it was closed. After the specified period, the profile will be deleted forever.

To restore, you will need to go back to the authorization form by entering your email login and password.

Access can only be restored using a code sent via SMS or voice call. Communication is carried out using the number associated with the account. Select the appropriate method from those proposed.

If you can’t use the number and you don’t have a spare email at hand, you can choose the recovery option by entering information about the account you are looking for. If the user enters the most accurate data, the system will recognize him as the owner of the profile. If incorrect answers are given, access will not be restored. All that remains is to register a new account.

If the login and password for logging into the remote mail have been forgotten, then this method will not work. It's better to recover your data first using any of the methods described above.

If control over the mailbox should be returned using the phone, then the specified number must be linked in the mail.

The method of answering system questions also works. If the user gives the correct answers, Google will allow the owner to begin restoring the account.

If incorrect answers are given, the system will leave the page blocked.

Option #6: Contact support

If none of the above options suits you, then all that remains is to contact the joint venture. Google specialists will process the accepted application and help resolve the issue of returning control of the account.

The support staff will also interview the applicant, so the mail owner will again need to provide at least some information about the mailbox to which access needs to be restored. If the address, password, and even the month of registration are unknown, you will need to indicate the approximate date when the user last logged in.

Synchronizing your account with your phone after changing your password

Having changed your email password, you will have to enter it in the future on all devices from which you will log into your account. And if access was restored to the mail that was linked to the phone, the owner of the gadget will again need to log in to the account from the phone.

In order not to lose authorization data in the future after setting a new password, the user should synchronize them with his smartphone.

Method 1: Restart the application

The easiest way is to act through official services from Google.

The procedure is carried out in 3 stages:

Open any utility from Google.
Enter the account password.
We wait until the application opens the account. Once login is completed, the device will automatically sync with your account.

Access to the Play Market can be returned in 2 ways - by specifying personal data, or by returning control over the profile without them.

Find the Gmail utility.
Click on the “Force stop” button, then on “Clear cache”.

After erasing all data, you need to re-enter your mailbox using a new password, after which the profile will automatically synchronize with your smartphone.

You can also reset your account using the Play Market.

Method 2: Delete your account

You can first remove the Google profile from the phone’s memory, then restart the device and log in to your account again.

The procedure may vary depending on the smartphone model, but generally you need to follow this order:

First you need to open the section with the gadget settings.
Next, you need to open the “Accounts” subsection (“Accounts”).
From the drop-down list, you need to select a Google profile and click on it.
In the new window, all you have to do is click on the delete button.

The data will be erased from the phone’s memory, so to reuse mail and restore data, you will need to open the accounts section, where you need to select the “Add new” (“Login to account”) option.

But it’s better to restart the device and log in again using a new password.

For security reasons, Google does not allow you to log in to an account that was previously reset on your smartphone. You will have to wait the next 72 hours, or use another e-mail.

If there is no data left about other accounts in the device’s memory, you can reset your smartphone to factory settings. After this, all information, including logins and passwords, will be erased from memory, and applications installed on the smartphone will be deleted.

Method 3. Change gadget settings

When restoring access, the user will need to change the password by setting a new combination. After changing the password, you need to synchronize with the application.

If synchronization was not carried out automatically, you will have to act independently by opening the phone settings.

Open the applications section.

Click on “Force stop”.
Clear application cache.

Account recovery by phone number

When the registration process occurs, Google prompts you to enter a phone number, which will serve as a recovery key in case of data loss. If the number was linked to the account, then there will be no problems with returning access.

Click on the “ I don’t remember my password ” tab and enter your login;
then it is suggested to perform recovery using a phone number;
We enter the number and then an SMS message is sent or a robot dials. The SMS message will contain a code with which you can unlock it. If the robot dialing method was selected, the code will be dictated;

The disadvantages of this method are that the SMS message sometimes does not arrive or arrives after several hours. There is also a certain limit on providing the code.

What to do if you forgot your account

To unblock access to your Google profile if your address has been forgotten, you will need to contact the Gmail service:

Recovering from an Android smartphone or tablet

You can also restore your account using an Android device; you can do this as follows:

Synchronization after password change
