At the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen border crossing (the main route between Tbilisi and Yerevan): a minute or two, after the Armenian immigration/customs checkpoint. On the right there is a VivaCell MTS office, open 24/7, where you can set up a SIM card/account in a few minutes. They are very accustomed to tourists who do not speak Armenian. You must have your passport with you, they will make a photocopy of it. You can exchange currency for Armenian drams at the nearest supermarket that has a currency exchange kiosk.

BIT packages allow you to use the Internet for 1 or 30 days and can be ordered on YES and Dialect. To switch from Viva to Dialect, you need to dial *131*707#, to YES the combination is *131*555#, the cost of the switch is 500 AMD.

Data-only SIM cards

Their data SIMs are called MTS Connect Daily and also have SMS support. Available for 1000 AMD in their stores. The starter package includes a balance of 1000 AMD, 195 days of validity period and another 180 days of replenishment period.

MTS Connect Daily has unlimited data for one calendar day for 250 AMD, maximum data transfer speed up to 640/256 Kbps. Daily fees are charged based on the number of calendar days. This means that payment occurs for the current day, after connecting to the Internet during the day. From now until the end of the day (23:59) there is unlimited internet access. If you stay online after midnight, you will have to pay for the next day at 00:01.

SMS message
