The price tag may change right now, but this section is more about understanding the need to disable auto-payment for a subscription.

People living in such houses want to have a reliable connection, for example, in order to keep abreast of current events, work remotely, in general, to keep their finger on the pulse of life. This requires a more serious infrastructure than a network of a single WiFi router.
Advice. To get rid of most of the problems associated with the selection and coordination of equipment, use a comprehensive solution from one vendor.
Let's start with the wires
“Why is it from wires?” - asks the inquisitive reader. It would seem that everything can be made simpler - install a WiFi access point and go! But everything has its own nuances.
Of course, it is possible to build an entire network solely on wireless equipment. This network organization is called Mesh. But then, firstly, part of the reception and transmission resources will be spent on connecting the access points and the router with each other, and not only for data transmission, but also for the exchange of service information.
For example, if there are two radio modules in an access point, then with a sufficiently high density of devices (set-top boxes, tablets, smartphones, TVs, and so on), if one of the radio modules is used for both Mesh and clients, then there will be a loss of performance in this range.
If there are two radio modules at the points (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), you can, for example, allocate the 5 GHz radio module only for Mesh, and the 2.4 GHz radio module only for clients. There will be no problems with reception on 2.4 GHz, but the 5 GHz channel is lost. Isn't it easier to connect access points and a firewall to the switch?
Secondly, some devices are preferable to use on a wired LAN, for example, a desktop computer, a network printer, and so on.
Thirdly, there are also CCTV cameras. A wired connection is much better for transmitting a good, stable picture.
And “for starters” - if devices (cameras, access points, etc.) can be powered via PoE, then it is much easier to purchase a switch with PoE and not fool yourself with injectors or additional power supplies.
For example, you can choose a small compact 8-port gigabit PoE switch GS1008HP.
For a small home network, complex features like ACLs are not particularly necessary. Therefore, a switch without control functions is quite suitable, but it is simple and reliable, and most importantly, silent. Quite a budget solution.

If PoE is not necessary, but increased communication speed is required, you can opt for the 12-port multi-gigabit switch XGS1010-12 with 2 2.5GB/s ports, 2 10G SFP+ ports (the remaining 8 ports are for Gigabit Ethernet twisted pair).
In this case, there are much more options for application, and there are enough possibilities. For example, you can connect access points to multi-gigabit ports, a miniserver (or NAS) with a 10G SFP+ network port to one of the gigabit ports, and reserve the second 10G SFP+ port as UPLINK. But this is just one of the possible scenarios.

If the house has its own video surveillance network consisting of two IP cameras or more, then it is recommended to connect the recorder and video cameras to a separate network with a PoE switch (sometimes even with its own Internet access) so that video traffic does not interfere with the operation of home or office devices, and those in in turn, they did not clog the channel for transmitting video images. Whether or not to follow this recommendation is up to the network designer, but this option should be kept in mind.
Another possible option is to use a switch managed from the Zyxel Nebula cloud environment. For example, the 8-port gigabit switch with PoE GS1920-8HP is quite capable of becoming a mini-core of a small network infrastructure managed from the cloud.

What about the internal wireless network?
A country house is still not a high-tech office with a lot of hired employees. A wireless network in a country house should provide acceptable coverage, but the network should not be expensive.
Note. If we talk about WiFi coverage for a very small area (up to 6 acres) with a small garden house: one room, kitchen + veranda, then most likely we are talking about the area of the house itself and the surrounding area: veranda, gazebo, bench at the gate... Hardly -whether someone will try to catch WiFi in the nettles near the fence on the opposite side of the site. However, for large households the situation may be completely different.
An interesting approach to building a wireless network based on inexpensive access points may seem interesting. This, of course, is an option for large houses or for situations where you need to provide remote technical support for a small but very important computer network on which a lot depends.
