Many Tele2 subscribers periodically observe funds disappearing from their personal accounts. Why can this even happen? Is the operator really “stealing” money from his customers? As practice shows, equipment malfunctions lead to erroneous debiting of funds so rarely that it is too much to neglect. In most cases, charges are related to connected subscriptions and services.
Do they withdraw money on Tele2? Then how to disable unnecessary options and subscriptions.
How to find out why Tele2 withdraws money
As we have already said, cases of erroneous debiting of funds from subscriber accounts are extremely rare - operator equipment works very accurately and does not allow errors. Most often, subscribers themselves are to blame for subscription fee charges. Here are the main reasons:
- The subscriber has subscribed to a tariff plan with a monthly fee, but does not understand why money is written off from him if he never used the communication services;
- The subscriber connected himself to a subscription, but did not understand the terms of its provision - as a result, the subscription fee began to be charged;
- The subscriber activated some service or option - and as a result forgot about its existence;
- The subscriber dialed some USSD command or called a dubious phone number - as a result, no less dubious subscriptions appear on the number.
Some mobile subscriptions even include a free period. For a week (or several days) they are provided free of charge, and then the subscription fee begins to be charged. As a result, subscribers, being sure that they have subscribed to a free service, begin to be sincerely perplexed - where does the money go from Tele2?
Do you want to use a service, option or subscription? Then carefully read the terms of their provision, so as not to subsequently accuse the operator of theft of funds. Please remember that subscription fees may apply even if you do not use the services provided to you.
In order to find out why they withdraw money from a phone on Tele2, we can call the operator’s help desk at 611 and ask a consultant this question. He will tell you about the presence of connected options, services and subscriptions on your number, and will also help with the issue of disabling them. Similar assistance will be provided at the nearest Tele2 customer service office. Remember that you will need a passport to conduct proceedings with consultants.
My operator Tele2
For myself, I made a choice in favor of Tele2
.
I don’t want to compare operators with each other; each has its own advantages and disadvantages. It so happens that at the moment Tele2
. Using this operator as an example, I want to show something that is not written about in advertising and is not talked about in showrooms when connecting.
Tariffs of one operator in different regions of the country differ in price, number of minutes and gigabytes provided, but are the same in content. Therefore, what I will tell you now applies to operators in your region, the only difference is in the numbers.
Perhaps, after reading this article, you will find out why the operator charges money in addition to the subscription fee. You will also think about what your operator does not advertise, you will want to know what you are paying for, and whether it is possible to pay less without losing the quantity and quality of services.
How to disable withdrawals on Tele2
It is possible that the leakage of funds is associated with the use of a tariff plan with a subscription fee. In this case, check your tariff parameters using the USSD command *107#. If necessary, switch to a different tariff by calling *107#.
Money is often withdrawn for connected services, for example, for “Beep” or Internet packages. In this case, you need to check their availability by dialing the USSD command *153#. You can find commands for disabling services on the official Tele2 website. As for subscriptions, you can manage them using the USSD command *189#. You can check the availability of connected services, tariffs and mobile subscriptions using your “Personal Account”. This is the most convenient and visual tool for managing your number. Go to your “Personal Account” and find connected services and subscriptions there - you can get rid of them with a couple of clicks. Here you can choose and connect a more suitable tariff plan.
Couldn’t understand where exactly the money from Tele2 goes? Then you definitely need detailing - you can order it through your “Personal Account”. Detailing is provided free of charge and helps to understand all cash write-offs for a given period.
Services above the package
If your tariff includes a package of minutes or SMS, then most likely after their expiration and before the start of a new paid period, additional money will be debited for the use of such services, and considerable money at that. You should not think that by paying a fixed amount once a month, you can forget about all your worries - unless, of course, you have unlimited minutes (and they usually only happen when calling Tele2 numbers).
You should check your remaining minutes so that you don’t accidentally say too much money.
To check the remainder of the package, dial the combination *155*0#.
In addition to the combination, you can find out the remaining minutes, SMS and gigabytes using your personal account. Also, do not forget to pay your tariff on time - communication services on an unpaid tariff become more expensive.
Precautionary measures
Why do they withdraw money from a Tele2 phone? In fact, the Tele2 operator is considered one of the most reliable. It does not impose services and options on its subscribers, and is also careful about mobile subscriptions. If you don’t type dubious commands or call dubious numbers, there won’t be any extra charges.
If you do not want your number to be charged, please take the following precautions:
- Do not download files from file hosting services that ask you to increase the speed by sending SMS - after reading the terms of provision of such services, you will see that with your own “not quite direct” hands you are connecting a subscription to your number with a regular subscription fee. In the future, you can only blame yourself for the theft of money, but not the operator;
- Do not participate in dubious auctions and sweepstakes from TV entertainment channels - these sweepstakes cannot be called anything other than a “scam”. Calling and sending commands to numbers shown on screens can lead to serious expenses;
- Do not send dubious USSD commands without verifying their security - this is often used by scammers who publish commands on their websites for connecting various subscriptions;
- Do not fall for SMS with messages about winning large sums of money and cars - do not dial the numbers and commands indicated there.
By following these simple measures, you will save yourself from unnecessary expenses.
If you want to use any USSD command or call any number, make sure it is safe through the Tele2 operator help desk.
Line of package tariffs
There is a wide range of tariffs to suit different consumer needs. I will only talk about the most popular ones - package tariffs. These are the tariffs offered by telecom store salespeople when clients contact them. Yes, they are convenient, practical and in most cases meet the needs of consumers.
For October 2021, the line of tariffs for smartphones from the Tele2
, for the region “Republic of Karelia”, and for me this is my home region, looks like this:
Each package comes with a prepaid set of minutes and gigabytes. Unlimited access to some instant messengers and social networks is also provided, with the exception of the “My Conversation” tariff.
How to avoid hidden charges and get rid of advertising mailings forever
When choosing a telecom operator, pay attention to virtual operators. The complete absence of mobile subscriptions and advertising mailings is a good advantage of the young operator Tinkoff Mobile. Subscribers of other operators are literally exhausted from them. It’s worth following some link on the Internet - and there’s a subscription on the number that charges from 3 rubles/day or more. You can also run into fraudulent subscriptions online that threaten you with the loss of much larger sums. Even the most advanced subscribers are not protected from them.
By connecting to Tinkoff, you will forever forget about mobile subscriptions (including fraudulent ones) and advertising mailings - they simply are not here. The operator gives all subscribers the first month of communication free of charge - 600 minutes of calls and a gigabyte package. Also, subscribers of this operator are well protected from fraudsters due to the lack of mobile commerce services. Tired of constant write-offs draining your account? Go to Tinkoff and forget about them.
In Tinkoff Mobile, services are connected only through a mobile application and only by the hands of the subscribers themselves. There are no imposed services here, which often change from free to paid.
An undeniable advantage will be the absence of SMS mailings. The operator does not cooperate with advertisers and does not promote its products via SMS, thanks to which subscribers are free from intrusive spam. Messages about new products are published only on the official website. Tinkoff Mobile is an operator without hidden subscriptions and mailings.
Services are managed using a mobile application. Connect here:
- Virtual numbers – for example, for publishing advertisements;
- Yandex.Music, Sound and BOOM - access to millions of tracks without advertising;
- Online cinemas Okko and Megogo - thousands of films and TV series;
- Hidden number detector and Anti-AON are two useful services.
Activation of services is carried out only at the request of subscribers, but not by the operator himself.

Subscriptions also cost you money.
We all use the Internet from our mobile device. And sometimes, out of carelessness, or out of curiosity, we click on advertising or other links. Unfortunately this is not always safe. Many unscrupulous services use such transitions to connect paid services (subscriptions).
I fell for their tricks twice. For the first time, out of ignorance, it is forgivable. And the second time, even knowing about this possibility, I still fell for this scam.
I liked one song. I started looking for it on the Internet in order to listen to it or download it to my phone. I don’t know what or where I clicked there. I didn’t order any paid services, I didn’t access paid services, but the result is obvious - I received an SMS that the account balance is less than 10 rubles.
I immediately called support. They checked the account and informed me that a paid subscription was activated - 30 rubles per day. I tried to argue that I didn't connect anything. But the support specialist explained that such subscriptions can be issued without the participation of the operator, on various services on the Internet. And once the subscription is completed, the money is written off. The only way the operator can help is to disable the subscription. Which is what I asked you to do.
Now I try to use the Internet carefully, especially sites with films and music. But there is no guarantee against subscriptions!
About the Tele2 market
Market Tele2
The service is convenient, but the benefits depend on which side of the market you are on. It is profitable to purchase additional traffic or minutes. It turns out to be much cheaper than using the minutes and gigabytes provided by the operator above the package. But selling the surplus is almost impossible. Supply far outstrips demand.
Please note how many lots are for sale. I tried several times to sell the surplus. And out of numerous attempts, I managed to sell gigabytes only once. I think I was just lucky. In other cases, the lot hung until the end of the billing period and burned safely.
Payment for Internet over the limit
If, for any reason, you have used up the traffic included in the package, then automatic renewal will work. For an additional fee of 60 rubles you will receive 500 MB (0.5 GB), although the cost of one gigabyte is on the Tele2
only 15 rub. (can be seen below, in the chapter “About the Tele2 market”).
You can refuse this service. But by default it is enabled.
You can check your minutes, GB and SMS balances by typing the following combination: *155*0#
. In response, you will receive an SMS indicating the remaining minutes, GB and SMS.
It’s useful to monitor the remaining traffic and buy more on the Tele2
if the package runs out, rather than wait for the automatic renewal to work.

Registration in your personal account allows you to determine why money is being withdrawn from your account, or disable unnecessary options.
