The phone does not accept incoming calls: reasons and solutions

For all the obvious shortcomings of Google's approach to updating Android smartphones I like it much more than Apple's approach. Google has divided its operating system into many independent components, each of which can be updated separately from the others. Therefore, if any of them fail, the search giant can simply release a small patch for this component instead of developing a large update for the entire operating system at once. But sometimes this causes certain problems in the operation of smartphones.

Calls not working on Android? You are not the only one

How to add stickers to Telegram and how to use them correctly

The latest update to the Google application for Android led to disruptions in the operation of another application, “Phone,” which is responsible for receiving and making calls. Users complained that they could not be reached by phone and that they themselves could not call anyone.

Software glitch

One of the most common reasons why a phone does not accept incoming calls is a malfunction of the operating system. This is quite a common occurrence, so there is nothing special about it. In general, failures and disruptions in the operation of the OS can be caused primarily by not very good firmware or poor system optimization. As a rule, cheaper phones from less well-known brands are more likely to be susceptible to this “phenomenon.”

There are two different ways to fix this problem. The first, and also the simplest, is to reboot the phone. You can even simply remove the battery for 10 seconds, then insert it back and turn on the device. In most cases, this solution helps.

The second method is to reset to factory settings. If the first solution did not help, it means that the failure occurred at a more global level, and a simple reboot will not fix it. In this case, resetting the settings to their original state helps a lot. You can perform this procedure through the device settings.

MTS Connect, eMotion: incoming messages are not received

I have been using the MTS Connect application from the operator of the same name abroad for several years now. His childhood illnesses were never cured during this time.

This time we installed eMotion from MegaFon (formerly MultiFon) on another handset. It turned out that he suffers from the same disease.

In this case, the disease means the failure of some incoming calls to pass through the application. That is, they are stupidly ignored by him and are received through the mobile network. That is, no longer at home, but at a roaming tariff. This can be seen from the dialer interface (by the way, not everyone will realize that there is a difference).

In the apartment in Montenegro where we are now, Wi-Fi reception is full. Input speed is 5 Mbit/s. For outgoing calls, MTS Connect allows you to make calls via IP without any problems, you can hear well. For incoming calls, not even 2/3, but rather 3/4 of calls are not recognized by them. Like this:

I wrote to the application’s technical support at the following address. The next day I received a response:

Hello, Alexander. We are aware that some users have encountered a similar issue. We are working on fixing it. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

They clearly got excited about “some users.” I would say: all users.

In my letter, I emphasized that I need to solve the problem right now, because there is no point in waiting for the messenger update, which was last released at the end of 2021. They didn't hear me. The messenger was clearly neglected.

I thought MegaFon would be better with eMotion, because... it seemed that it was more stable and less selective when making outgoing calls - if there is Internet, it allows you to call without any whims and is always heard perfectly. MTS Connect may grunt or write that the Internet quality is insufficient to make a call, call via a mobile network.

However, a test call to MegaFon's number showed that the picture is the same: the call went through the standard smartphone dialer, and did not fall into the application. That is, entering due to home conditions did not work out.

Of course, in the settings of both messengers I have it set to accept incoming messages via Wi-Fi.

Those who have something useful to say about this issue, please speak up.

At the same time, not so long ago I already wrote about childhood diseases MTS Connect from a slightly different perspective:

MTS Connect: unfinished and forgotten >>

Airplane mode

The second reason why the phone does not accept incoming calls is airplane mode. Many users like to use the Airplane Mode function so that no one will disturb them for some time. But, as practice shows, a very large percentage forgets to disable this function afterwards, as a result of which they do not receive incoming calls.

The solution to this problem is incredibly simple - you just need to disable this function. This can be done either through the status bar or, as it is also called, the “curtain”. You can also disable “Flight” through the settings in the “Networks and Connections” section (on different phones, this section may have a different name). “Airplane mode” is also disabled through the shutdown menu, which is activated when you hold down the power/lock button.

No coverage area

We continue to figure out why they can’t get through to a Beeline subscriber! Another possible reason is being in a remote area:

  • Staying outside the populated area;
  • Trips to small villages.

The main factor is the lack of coverage area. There are no communication towers nearby whose signal allows you to transmit data, so you cannot get through to Beeline and you cannot call anyone. What to do? Leave the point and go to where there is a stable signal.

The same category of problems “They can’t reach me on Beeline” includes signal interruptions for the following reasons:

  • Features of the development;
  • Radio interference from nearby devices;
  • Bad weather conditions;
  • Line congestion;
  • Operator technical work.

There is nothing you can do, there is only one solution - wait! You will soon forget that you could not call from Beeline with a positive balance.

We explained in detail why they can’t get through to a Beeline phone - almost all the reasons can be eliminated yourself. Use our tips to solve the problem, restore the functionality of your smartphone and return to personal and business communication as soon as possible! Read on to find out how to turn off Russian lessons.

Incorrect network definition

The next reason why the phone does not accept incoming calls is incorrect network detection. Usually the phone automatically detects the network of the cellular operator, but sometimes malfunctions occur, as a result of which the device switches to the wrong frequency.

In order to fix this problem, you should follow 2 simple steps:

  1. Go to settings and go to the “SIM cards and networks” menu.
  2. Next, you need to select the “Mobile networks” section and set the definition there either to automatic mode, or perform a search and select the required network, according to your cellular operator.

What to do if the subscriber cannot call anyone

If a subscriber cannot call from MTS to MTS or to a client of another operator, he needs to restart the phone. If the problem reoccurs, you should turn off your mobile device, remove the battery and SIM card (or just the SIM if the battery is not removable), wait a few minutes, reassemble the phone and turn it on again.

If you also can’t make a call, you should make sure that your smartphone can reliably connect to the operator’s network. The indicators on the phone screen will indicate this. When the display shows “No Network”, the signal level does not show a single bar or is crossed out, this means that the connection is unavailable. You need to move to another place, for example, go outside from the room.

If the smartphone catches the network, you need to remove the SIM card, put it in another phone and try to make a call. If the problem is resolved, you need to look for the cause of the problem in your mobile device. Airplane mode may be turned on. It is disabled in the notification shade, which opens by swiping down the screen.

If a person drops or hits a smartphone before a malfunction occurs, there is a possibility that it is damaged. You should take it to a service center for diagnosis and repair.

If the SIM card is installed in another phone and it still does not make calls to other subscribers, it may be damaged or blocked. You need to contact the operator's Communications Salon to unlock or replace the SIM card.

Radio module malfunction

The next reason why the phone does not receive incoming calls is a faulty radio module. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about this. Often, communication modules in devices fail. This can happen due to manufacturing defects, frequent falls of the device, moisture getting inside, etc. The problem can only be corrected in one way - by replacing the module with a new one.

Card failure

Users often complain - I can’t make calls from a SIM card, and incoming calls don’t work. Be sure to check the integrity and functionality of the card!

  • Make sure it is inserted the right way into the correct slot and fits correctly;
  • Check to see if there is any dirt, scratches, cracks or chips on the surface.

You can easily change the plastic for a new SIM card if it is not detected by your smartphone. It is enough to take your passport with you and go to any convenient sales office of the operator - and no longer say: “Why can’t I call from Beeline?”

Antivirus for Samsung

Well, at the end there is a small point dedicated to Samsung smartphones. Very often, many owners complain that their Samsung phone does not receive incoming calls. This happens not only because of the above reasons, but also because of another, separate one, which concerns only devices of a given brand. The fact is that if you install Dr. antivirus. Web on a Samsung smartphone, the application automatically blocks most of the numbers from which incoming calls will not be received.

There are two ways to fix this problem. The first is to remove the antivirus and find a replacement for it. The second is to go to the application settings, go to the “Profile” item and there check the box next to “Receive all calls and SMS”. It's simple!

Calls on WhatsApp are not working - what should I do?

  • Voice calls via WhatsApp are becoming increasingly popular. It’s even more annoying if they suddenly don’t work. Here's what you can do in this case:
  • First, check if you have a good enough internet connection. This is important because all calls on WhatsApp are made over the Internet.
  • Additionally, it may be that you have been blocked by the contact you want to call. Thus, your calls will also not go through and will be displayed to the contact.
  • Reboot your phone. This often solves many problems.
  • Check if you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed. If you have not updated the messenger application for a long time, you should open Google Play or the App Store and download the most current version of the application from there.

If none of the above options help, there is a possibility that the WhatsApp messenger itself is broken. In this case, there is nothing you can do and you will have to wait until the problem is fixed by the developers.

Additional Help

If you still can't make or receive calls, restore your iPhone as a new device. If restoring doesn't solve the problem, contact Apple Support and submit a request for step-by-step instructions.

  • Contacting the federal number for corporate clients;

description of each service, how to connect and disconnect, cost

Situations when the phone turns off occur frequently and sometimes unexpectedly. Meanwhile, it is precisely at such moments that important calls from dear, close or influential people are possible, which it would be undesirable to miss. Or you are calling someone, but the subscriber is not online. To find out who called, to let you know that you called and are now online, there are three, “They called me S”, “I called+” and “I’m online”. We will talk about each of these services, costs and methods of connecting and disconnecting in this article.

"Who called+"

“Who called+” is a service that will notify you that calls have been received at a number and allow you to listen to voice messages that will be left on the answering machine.

Connection is free Subscription fee - 1.2 rubles/day Calls to number 0525 are not charged within the Home region, in roaming - according to the terms of your tariff

You will receive an SMS notification that you received a call if:

  • Your phone was turned off;
  • You were outside the Megafon service area;
  • You were talking to another subscriber and did not use

After you are available for calls again, you will receive an SMS notification , which will tell you how many times this subscriber called you, at what time and whether he left a voice message.

The person calling you will hear the voice of the answering machine and will be asked to leave a voice message, which you can then listen to by calling the number 0525.

However, there are limitations to recording and storing voice messages:

  • The maximum duration of a voice message is 3 minutes. ;
  • Message storage time is 24 hours ;
  • The maximum number of voice messages in a mailbox is 10.

The service does not work if you have your own forwarding enabled. Also, when using Multifon, the subscriber will not be able to hear the answering machine greeting.

How to connect and disconnect

The service is activated automatically when you connect to the tariff plan in which it is included. You can connect separately as follows:

  1. Via service command : - connect - *581# [call button] - disconnect - *581*3# [call button]
  2. Through your Personal Account:

Then find the one you need in the list of services and click “Connect” or “Disconnect” depending on the action you need to perform:

Then click “Connect” or “Disconnect” to confirm the action. If you want to read the option description again, click “Option description on the website”

"They called me S"

“They called me S” is a service that is always connected, but the subscriber does not know about it. For us, notification of a missed call is a matter of course, but these notifications come precisely thanks to this service.

The service is provided free of charge and without additional connection

Notifications about missed calls, just like when using “Who called+”, come if

  • Your phone was turned off;
  • You were outside the Megafon service area;
  • You were talking to another subscriber and did not use

Please note that “S called me” and “Who called+” are mutually exclusive services. Their simultaneous use is impossible. “They called me S” is connected automatically when “Who called +” is not connected.

How to connect and disconnect

  1. Through your personal account. The algorithm of actions coincides with that described above.;
  2. Via SMS : to connect or disconnect, send a blank message to 05001155;
  3. Via the service command *105*1155#[call button];
  4. also connect by entering your phone number on the page;
  5. disable it by calling the contact center on 0500.

"I am online"

“I’m online” is a service that sends messages to a subscriber who was unable to reach you, at the moment when you become available for a call again. The subscriber will receive a message from your number with the text: “The subscriber is online again.”

The service is provided by default in all tariff plans without a subscription fee and operates throughout Russia.

How to connect and disconnect

  1. Through your personal account. The algorithm of actions is the same as presented above.

  3. Via an empty SMS to number 000022
  4. Another option to disconnect is to call the contact center at 0500

"I called+"

allows subscribers who could not be reached to receive information that a call was received on their number while they were unavailable. The service is provided only when calling subscribers of other operators. After the subscriber appears online, he will receive a notification in the form of a missed call or SMS message, depending on the connected services.

If an attempt to call a Megafon subscriber is unsuccessful, he will not receive a notification.

The service is provided by default without a subscription fee or connection fee.

The service operates in the following regions:

  • Northwestern;
  • Metropolitan;
  • Central;
  • Caucasian;
  • Siberian;
  • Ural;
  • Far Eastern.

The service is not provided in all other services and in roaming .

Detailed information about the terms of provision, “S called me”, “I’m online” and “I called +” can be found in the documents attached below.

The subscriber is on the “black list”

A common problem is that a subscriber who cannot be reached or who cannot call your phone has been added to the blacklist. Sometimes people accidentally block contacts and don’t notice it, sometimes they personally add a subscriber to the blacklist and forget about it.

For this reason, it is impossible to make outgoing or receive incoming calls. To check whether a contact is blocked or not, try calling other subscribers (preferably 2-4 different contacts). If the outgoing call is made without problems - the beeps go through without interference or glitches - open the settings of the contact you cannot reach.

Depending on the smartphone model, the functions and item names will differ. On some devices, you need to unblock the subscriber (click the “Unblock Contact” button); on others, you need to go to the “Call Rejection” section and remove the mistakenly added number from the blacklist.

Problems with redirects

It happens that a call is completed without beeps due to an accidentally activated auto-forwarding function, which becomes active after a certain time. To cope with the problem, the subscriber needs to contact the technical support of cellular operators or try to resolve it themselves.

For example, to cancel redirection, MTS and TELE2 subscribers need to dial a special USSD command: ##002#. Megafon users have an even more extensive list of possible commands:

  • *#21# – checking unconditional forwarding;
  • *#62# – check for forwarding availability if the subscriber is unavailable;
  • *#67# – allows you to check whether call forwarding is enabled if the subscriber is constantly busy.

You can also find out whether the option is enabled and, if necessary, disable it in your personal account or through the application of each telecom operator.

What to do if none of the above commands helped?

You can contact tech directly. support via toll-free numbers. For MTS this is; TELE2 – 611; Megafon – 8 (800) 550-05-00.

Dialing to the MTS operator from other networks and landline numbers

If for some reason you are unable to call the operator on a special number, and you only have a mobile phone with a card from another operator, or just a landline phone, this is not a problem. There is a universal federal phone number that you can always call and receive help from the MTS operator.

To reach the operator, follow these steps:

  1. Dial 8-800-250-08-90.
  2. Listen to the information offered, then press “2”.
  3. In the next menu you will need to press "0".
  4. Wait for communication with the operator.
  5. Tell us about your problems or questions.

Communication with MTS in roaming

It often happens that subscribers need to call not just from the Irkutsk region, or remote regions of the country to the operator, but from abroad. Most subscribers, by the way, in this case think that this call is paid and costs a lot. In fact, this is not the case at all. This service is completely free. But you need to dial the number correctly, not forgetting about all the conditions of international formats.

The number for contacting MTS in roaming is as follows - +7-495- 766-01-66

SIM card damage

Typically, SIM problems affect both incoming and outgoing calls, but there are exceptions. If the card has been bent, had contact with liquid or become dirty, this can directly affect the ability to reach the subscriber. You can check the functionality of the card: just move it to another phone. The slot is also checked: it is necessary to place another SIM of the same operator in it. Next, it remains to check whether the problems have disappeared.
