You can find paid subscriptions by following the link from the message on your phone. Sometimes such an innocent action automatically activates paid content on your phone number, and active debits begin from your balance. Preventing their occurrence can sometimes be problematic, but in any case, there are several ways to disable paid subscriptions on MTS. First, let's check which subscriptions are active on your phone.
How to check for paid subscriptions
Before disabling anything, you need to see whether your plan has paid or free subscriptions. The fastest verification method is to enter the USSD command: *152#. After sending the command, a menu will appear on the screen consisting of three categories: “1-Expenditures for today”, “2-Infotainment subscriptions” and “3-Next”. Click on the “Reply” button and enter the number “2”. Next, three new categories will appear: “1-Subscription Directory”, “2-My Current Subscriptions” and “3-Unsubscribe from All”. Click on the “Reply” button and enter the number “2” again if you want to see a list of active services.
In this way, you can not only check the MTS subscriptions on your number, but also immediately disconnect it.
Attention! Never leave your phone number on unknown, unverified Internet resources, as such actions often lead to hidden paid subscriptions being activated on your number, for which a subscription fee is deducted from your phone balance once a day, week or month. The subscription fee for such services is most often small, which allows you to hide the presence of a subscription for a long time, because the subscriber may not immediately notice the loss of a couple of tens of rubles from the balance. “Detailing” will also help you check unknown debits from your balance.
Why do MTS subscriptions appear that we do not subscribe to?
Despite the fact that we often don’t even suspect that we have a paid subscription to any infotainment service from MTS, we still need to more closely monitor the finances on our phone.
Often, thanks to unknown payments that are debited from accounts, subscribers learn about the availability of the service. Such subscriptions may include business news, sports news, music channels, horoscopes, etc.
Such accidental subscriptions usually occur as a result of scams by content providers who send messages with different links. By clicking on this link, you will be automatically subscribed. Also, the mobile operator may offer the client to use any of the services for free. Subsequently, the subscriber receives a message notifying that the service is becoming paid. Often these messages are ignored, forgotten, and as a result unknown services are formed for which we pay money.
Disabling via USSD command
Using the USSD combination *152#, you can not only perform verification, but also immediately disable all unwanted subscriptions. This can be done in the last menu, where you are offered three categories to choose from: “1-Subscription Directory”, “2-My current subscriptions”, “3-Unsubscribe from everyone”. That is, you can not click on the number “2”, but immediately unsubscribe from all subscriptions without checking by clicking on the number “3”, or perform a check, then return to the previous menu and unsubscribe from all paid content of the MTS company.
To save time, you can enter a command that will immediately open the second menu: *152*2#, then all you have to do is enter the number “3”. If no paid services have been activated on your phone, a message will appear on the screen: “There are no subscriptions on your number.”
Operator advantages and disadvantages
A good signal and a wide distribution area facilitate the connection of new subscribers.
There are no mobile operators that only receive positive (or negative) reviews. The advantages of MTS include:
- large coverage area in any region of the Russian Federation, even outside the city comfortable communication is possible;
- good and satisfactory quality of communication, which is ensured by the extensive experience of the company’s employees and modern telecommunications equipment;
- high-quality and inexpensive telephone communications in roaming, which attracts many travelers;
- variety of tariff plans, thoughtfulness of their parameters (such as night unlimited or mobile Internet without restrictions);
- long-term relationships with many partners have made it possible to create a developed roaming network, providing users with reliable communications anywhere in the world.
The work of Mobile TeleSystems causes a large number of negative reviews and complaints. Among them, the most frequently cited disadvantages are:
- connection of paid services without the subscriber’s knowledge or without a clear statement of conditions;
- the difficulty of communicating with a specialist who would understand the client’s problems and know how to resolve them;
- high tariffs for communications and other services in comparison with other mobile operators;
- debiting funds from a subscriber's account, not supported by calculations and detailed explanations, causes users to feel deceived and a constant stream of complaints;
- frequent cases of erroneous debiting of funds, provision of paid services that were once disabled; repeated reproduction of resolved problems, in addition to subscriber dissatisfaction, causes a decline in trust in the company and its subsidiaries;
- poor training of technical support specialists, characteristic of all mobile operators; the larger the company, the more complaints there are about the quality of technical support;
- a large customer base makes it difficult to reach the support service and causes a lack of time, and therefore MTS is intensively expanding the ability of clients to independently resolve problems using interactive resources and an artificial intelligence system in combination with self-service services;
- insufficient coverage area by the provider, the company is inferior to Beeline and Megafon;
- high tariffs for services with a complex and intricate mechanism for their formation, so even comparable prices end up being higher than those of competitors.
Disabling in the My MTS application
If you don’t have a computer at hand, and entering a command is inconvenient for you, then download the “My MTS” application to your phone. Log in by entering your phone number and password. If you don’t have a password, use the “Receive password via SMS” link.
Once on the main page, click on the “Services” button. On the new page, you will see two tabs on the top line: “Connected” and “Available”. The “Connected” tab means that here you can view all the services that are activated on your SIM card. In the “Available” tab, you can view a list of all options that are not connected, but are available for connection on your tariff.
In our case, we need the “Connected” tab, which will open automatically after clicking on the “Services” button. There are two sections here: “Paid” and “Free”. You can open both sections one by one and view everything that is connected to your number. It is advisable to start checking with MTS paid services and disable them as soon as possible if you do not need them, since this is where all those services and subscriptions for which money is debited from the balance will be displayed.
We use the “My Content” service
- Open the page at “https://moicontent.mts.ru” or any page on the website www.mts.ru, scroll down the page to the very end, at the bottom of the page in the “Service Management” section, click on the inscription “My Content”.
- On the left side there is a menu with service sections. Click on the “Ordered Content” item and select the “Active Subscriptions” sub-item in the drop-down list.
- In the settings window that opens, disable all unnecessary ones.
Disabling in your Personal Account
Open the official website of the MTS company and click on the “Personal Account” button located in the upper right corner of the main page (select “Mobile communications” when clicking on “Personal Account.”) Enter your phone number and access code. If you don’t have an access code, request one using the “Receive password via SMS” link. An SMS containing a 4-digit code will be sent to your phone, after entering which the system will ask you to come up with a new password (you can skip this step and come up with a new password later in your Personal Account settings).
On the main page of your Personal Account on the left there is also a section “Services”, by clicking on which you will see two tabs “Connected” and “Available”. Check all subscriptions and services located in the “Connected” tab. Here you can unsubscribe from any MTS services and subscriptions by clicking on the “Disconnect” button and confirming this action.
Disconnect via SMS
You can control and manage services by sending messages to service numbers.
To disable most popular options, messages are sent to 111; to disable a specific one, send a specific code:
- “Everywhere is like home” – message with text 33330;
- “Call Russia 100 for free” – code 8680;
- “Beep” – code 21510;
- GPRS – 21220;
- “Anti-number identification” – 21130;
- “They called you” - 211410;
- “Conference communication” – 21150;
- “Favorite number” – 21410;
- “Everywhere is like home” – message text 21500.
Other options can be disabled by sending SMS to service numbers 6677 and 7788:
- “Locator” is deactivated by texting “Off” to number 6677; if it is necessary to pause, then the text should be “Packet Stop”.
- The “Child under supervision” service is disabled by sending a message with the text “Delete” to the number 7788.
Disconnection via Call Center
If you can’t get rid of paid services on your own, call the helpline on the short number 0890 and press the number “0” in the voice menu to transfer the call to a conversation with an operator. Tell the specialist that you want to cancel all paid services on your tariff plan. Perhaps the employee will ask you to provide the passport details of the person to whom the number is registered. This measure is necessary for security purposes, since such actions can only be performed by the owner of the SIM card.
You can also call the MTS call center by number. This phone is designed for calls from numbers of other mobile operators and from landline devices. After calling, you will be taken to the voice menu, where you can also switch to a conversation with a company specialist.
If you can’t get through by phone, you can personally contact any MTS store and ask an employee to disconnect you from everything unnecessary on the tariff plan.
We call the telecom operator
In most cases, when you cannot solve the problem yourself, you can use the help of an operator who will provide information of interest about current subscriptions, help you remove unnecessary services, or send information via SMS message, disable an unnecessary subscription at your request.
There are several contact numbers:
- you can call the number, wait for the voice robot to answer, then follow the voice menu prompts or immediately press “2”, wait a little and enter “0”;
- free numbers 0890 and 08460 also allow you to contact a live operator; after dialing the number, you must follow the advice of the voice assistant (press “5”, wait for the service to respond and press “0”).
How to block paid content on a number
To protect yourself from all paid subscriptions, you can take care of this in advance by connecting. This service will block all kinds of sending messages and calls to short numbers, and will also block receiving messages from unknown short numbers. At the same time, sending messages and calls to useful short numbers will be available, for example, you can write or call the bank or your mobile operator. In this way, the subscriber can protect himself from accidentally subscribing to paid or free content.
To connect, you need to dial the combination on your phone: *984# or call the help center 0890 and ask a specialist to help connect this service.
Attention! This service is not intended for corporate clients.
Recommendations to help you forget about unwanted emails
If the full block method is not for you, then you should follow these tips:
- Do not indicate your phone number anywhere. Be careful about sites that ask you to send an SMS or enter a number to download/view something. Better yet, immediately close tabs with such resources.
- Do not send SMS from your phone to short numbers (unless they belong to well-known companies, for example, the bank where you are being discussed).
- Don't install unpopular apps that require permission to send SMS from your phone. Use only trusted resources to download software (for example, Google Play or 4pda.ru).
- Install an antivirus. It will automatically warn about sites whose integrity is suspect.
Method 5: call the MTS operator
Any mobile operator, including MTS operators, provides a call to a hotline. This is perhaps the easiest of all the above methods to disable all subscriptions and services.
MTS hotline number - 0890 or 8-800-250-0890
The call center operator will answer all your questions about using your subscriber number and will quickly disable all services and subscriptions that you no longer need.
Now that you know how you can disable MTS subscriptions in all possible ways, namely the 5 most effective and efficient ones, the question of the random appearance of new paid services and subscriptions and how their appearance can be stopped remains open.
